A portal of night and white sparks opens over Tim. A hand cards softly over his wings and rights feathers where needed. A soft kiss is placed on his head and then the portal closes again.

Tim blinked when he saw her.
"Manea-?"
The help was soothing and probably something he needed to learn to do himself anyway, but it made him smile. The forehead kiss made him turn a little bit red. Who on earth told him fae were evil? This one was kind to him at least.
"Thank you," he got out just before the portal closed.
The portal opens again and Manea steps fully out. She looks him over and frowns at the state of his wings and how tired he was. Soul-deep tiredness.
"Want to come with me?" She invites and holds out a hand.
He blinked. She has such strange patterns of coming and going.
"Uh, sure." He shrugged and took her hand, rubbing at his eyes absently with the back of his free hand. "Where to?"
"To my home", she chuckles and guides him through the portal into a lush, overgrown living room with a big nest inside. Fairy lights shaped like flowers, stars and insects start shedding a warm, dim light as soon as they appear. "My home is your home, be free to come and go as you please."
She indicates a solid door and various curtains. Each of the singled-out curtains has a motif. One is a weary raven, one a defensive eagle, one a tired, curled-up kitten and one seamlessly blending into the plants surrounding it. The creatures are cradled by moonlight.
"The bathroom, personal chambers. You have your own, just behind this curtain. Those curtains are lead to the personal chambers of my other changelings and my own personal chambers. You are always welcome to go into my chambers, but not the others. The windows lead to the gardens and the kitchen is behind us. Would you like to eat? Or to clean up and change clothes?"
"Uh,"
In some dim corner of his mind he was pretty sure his mouth was hanging open. The place was beautiful. Really beautiful.
"I, uh," He did his best to snap out of it. "Oh. I guess uh, eat?"
Real, real smooth.
"Soup? Or would a collection of fruits, nuts and vegetables suffice? And do you have preferences I should keep in mind?" Manea asks, already guiding him to the table for him to sit down. A tiny plant creature, with humanoid-shaped roots and big eyes watches him and waves before signing something in a foreign language at Manea.
"And for the soap for your wings, which scent would you like?"
He was totally gaping.
"Uhm. Yeah, that should be okay. I don't have a lot of preferences."
He wracked his mind for what kind of scents soaps came with. "And uh, coconut?"
"Coconut it will be. Little Petal, would you prepare the soap while Little Magpie and I eat?"
The creature nods and rushes to do as asked. Manea in the meantime has prepared a plate with fruits, vegetables and nuts for Tim and herself and laid it on the table she is kneeling at.
"Come and eat, Little Magpie. And I will answer all the questions you may have."
Tim slowly came over to the table she was at and settled down. Everything was so beautiful here. He picked up a random cashew and stared at it for a split second before popping it in his mouth.
"Why?" He asked after a minute. "I've never been to your home before. What's going on?"
"You are my changelings. And I found myself lonely lately. I am currently inviting all my changelings to come over so they will be able to visit anytime they want", Manea replies with a soft smile, eating her own fruits and nuts.
"And I care for the wings of those who have them. It reminds me of the home I left behind."
Almost absently, Tim's wings twitched and stretched lazily. He glanced back at them, thinking over her answer.
"Okay. Thank you." He smiled.
"No thanks is needed", Manea replies. "If you are finished, clean up, change into something comfortable and come back. I will wash and preen your wings."
Tim nodded, glancing down at the pear core he had in his hands. He set it down and got up to find where Manea had said the bathroom was.
"Okay." He smiled and turned to go, wondering absently what fae bathrooms were like.
"Fresh clothes?" Manea reminds gently. She lets him go though, already standing up to go through one of the basic silk curtains to gather a change of clothes for her changeling.
The Bathroom Tim found himself in was made from rough crystalline stone and featured a small spring for a sink. The same magical fairy lights from the living room brightened the room. Glas vials vith various symbols and some with English descriptions were on one shelf and fluffy cotton towels and robes were on another. A half-wall separated the room and behind that were a toilet, which was equally made from stone, and a basin with a small waterfall flowing in as a shower.
He blushed just a little bit at forgetting. Geez, he was supposed to be the smart one. "Right." He watched her go.
Beautiful. Like everything else there. Why didn't humans build things like this? Actually he knew why. Still.
A few minutes later he stepped out, wrapped in one of the robes with a huge grin on his face. He was so darn comfortable.
"Here, I took a pair of basic pants, underwear and a basic shirt out of your closet. I asume this will do for now? You can change in your chambers otherwise", Manea offers, holding the fresh clothes through the door.
"When you are finished putting on clothes and a robe over them, join me in the nest for your wings?"
"Yeah, thanks." He took the clothes gratefully. "I'll be right there."
In a minute or two he stepped out, running a hand through his damp hair and glancing around for wherever the "nest" was. His wings stretched out lazily.
The clothes are high quality and made of luxurious, soft natural materials. Manea waves him over from the nest in the middle of the living room and smiles gently and warmly at him when he comes closer.
"Sit down and I'll start on washing your wings and then preening them."
He nodded and took a seat in the apparent nest Manea had in her house, grinning a little at the thought. "Bats and birds" wasn't supposed to be literal, he was pretty sure.
"Want to share what amuses you?", Manea asks, starting to carefully wash out all the grime and dirt from the wings.
He shrugged, and the tips of his wings twitched. "You know the bird crypid myths going around?"
"No? I am fairly new to the mortal world and this part and period of it in particular. Enlighten me?" The voice is low, humming, and the scent of coconut embraces them as the wings get cleaned.
He laughed a little. "Well, some people didn't think we were human. I guess cause of the strange things we do. I guess they aren't myths anymore." He blinked. Holy crap, he was a cryptid.
"Hm, I guess not. At least you are not fully human. You are claimed by what you humans call fair folk and fae. It leaves a mark. You are a little bit of that yourself, and I could change you the whole way into one of my kind." Manea hums in thought. "I will not. Not unless you ask me three years in a row."
He shook his head slowly. "No thanks. I want to stay at least a little bit human." He had enough to deal with already.
"I understand that. I somewhat envy that. I have never been human." Manea's voice is thoughtful and somewhat weighted with her emotions. She huffs and chuckles after that. "I like my changelings just as they are. Unconditional love. Human, fae, birds or insects or even plants." She starts drying the feathers, straightening them and numbing places where she needs to pull a feather because it is broken or already loose enough. At the same time, she massages the muscles under the skin.
A little bit of something warm settled in his gut as he listened to her words. Ha, and to think a lot of the stories he'd read warned about the evil trickery of fae. He liked Manea too.
A weird thought buzzed in his mind. "...Do you have a plant changeling?"
"Currently? No. Little Petal is the closest to a plant changeling I would have. But she is more of an attendant", Manea replies and hums in thought. "I would claim her, if she wanted."
Tim hummed too. "Does she not?"
"Not as my child. And she is claimed as my attendant." Manea keeps working rhythmically on the wings and starts to hum a lullaby.
After a few moments his eyes started to close. Everything felt nice and he was pretty comfortable.
Manea smiles and starts to actually sing. The language is foreign, but flows with the melody she was humming. And it was not the first time she had one of her changelings sleep in the nest. She finishes the wings and positions them better for sleep, before pulling soft blankets over her sleeping changeling.

Glas vials vith various symbols and some with English descriptions were on one shelf and fluffy cotton towels and robes were on another. A half-wall separated the room and behind that were a toilet, which was equally made from stone, and a basin with a small waterfall flowing in as a shower.
He blushed just a little bit at forgetting. Geez, he was supposed to be the smart one. "Right." He watched her go.

"Here, I took a pair of basic pants, underwear and a basic shirt out of your closet. I asume this will do for now? You can change in your chambers otherwise", Manea offers, holding the fresh clothes through the door.

"Hm, I guess not. At least you are not fully human. You are claimed by what you humans call fair folk and fae. It leaves a mark. You are a little bit of that yourself, and I could change you the whole way into one of my kind." Manea hums in thought. "I will not. Not unless you ask me three years in a row."

She starts drying the feathers, straightening them and numbing places where she needs to pull a feather because it is broken or already loose enough. At the same time, she massages the muscles under the skin.

She indicates a solid door and various curtains. Each of the singled-out curtains has a motif. One is a weary raven, one a defensive eagle, one a tired, curled-up kitten and one seamlessly blending into the plants surrounding it. The creatures are cradled by moonlight.
"The bathroom, personal chambers. You have your own, just behind this curtain. Those curtains are lead to the personal chambers of my other changelings and my own personal chambers. Tim blinked when he saw her.
"Manea-?"
The help was soothing and probably something he needed to learn to do himself anyway, but it made him smile. The forehead kiss made him turn a little bit red. Who on earth told him fae were evil? This one was kind to him at least.
"Thank you," he got out just before the portal closed.
The portal opens again and Manea steps fully out. She looks him over and frowns at the state of his wings and how tired he was. Soul-deep tiredness.
"Want to come with me?" She invites and holds out a hand.
He blinked. She has such strange patterns of coming and going.
"Uh, sure." He shrugged and took her hand, rubbing at his eyes absently with the back of his free hand. "Where to?"
"To my home", she chuckles and guides him through the portal into a lush, overgrown living room with a big nest inside. Fairy lights shaped like flowers, stars and insects start shedding a warm, dim light as soon as they appear. "My home is your home, be free to come and go as you please."
She indicates a solid door and various curtains. Each of the singled-out curtains has a motif. One is a weary raven, one a defensive eagle, one a tired, curled-up kitten and one seamlessly blending into the plants surrounding it. The creatures are cradled by moonlight.
"The bathroom, personal chambers. You have your own, just behind this curtain. Those curtains are lead to the personal chambers of my other changelings and my own personal chambers. You are always welcome to go into my chambers, but not the others. The windows lead to the gardens and the kitchen is behind us. Would you like to eat? Or to clean up and change clothes?"
"Uh,"
In some dim corner of his mind he was pretty sure his mouth was hanging open. The place was beautiful. Really beautiful.
"I, uh," He did his best to snap out of it. "Oh. I guess uh, eat?"
Real, real smooth.
"Soup? Or would a collection of fruits, nuts and vegetables suffice? And do you have preferences I should keep in mind?" Manea asks, already guiding him to the table for him to sit down. A tiny plant creature, with humanoid-shaped roots and big eyes watches him and waves before signing something in a foreign language at Manea.
"And for the soap for your wings, which scent would you like?"
He was totally gaping.
"Uhm. Yeah, that should be okay. I don't have a lot of preferences."
He wracked his mind for what kind of scents soaps came with. "And uh, coconut?"
"Coconut it will be. Little Petal, would you prepare the soap while Little Magpie and I eat?"
The creature nods and rushes to do as asked. Manea in the meantime has prepared a plate with fruits, vegetables and nuts for Tim and herself and laid it on the table she is kneeling at.
"Come and eat, Little Magpie. And I will answer all the questions you may have."
Tim slowly came over to the table she was at and settled down. Everything was so beautiful here. He picked up a random cashew and stared at it for a split second before popping it in his mouth.
"Why?" He asked after a minute. "I've never been to your home before. What's going on?"
"You are my changelings. And I found myself lonely lately. I am currently inviting all my changelings to come over so they will be able to visit anytime they want", Manea replies with a soft smile, eating her own fruits and nuts.
"And I care for the wings of those who have them. It reminds me of the home I left behind."
Almost absently, Tim's wings twitched and stretched lazily. He glanced back at them, thinking over her answer.
"Okay. Thank you." He smiled.
"No thanks is needed", Manea replies. "If you are finished, clean up, change into something comfortable and come back. I will wash and preen your wings."
Tim nodded, glancing down at the pear core he had in his hands. He set it down and got up to find where Manea had said the bathroom was.
"Okay." He smiled and turned to go, wondering absently what fae bathrooms were like.
"Fresh clothes?" Manea reminds gently. She lets him go though, already standing up to go through one of the basic silk curtains to gather a change of clothes for her changeling.
The Bathroom Tim found himself in was made from rough crystalline stone and featured a small spring for a sink. The same magical fairy lights from the living room brightened the room. Glas vials vith various symbols and some with English descriptions were on one shelf and fluffy cotton towels and robes were on another. A half-wall separated the room and behind that were a toilet, which was equally made from stone, and a basin with a small waterfall flowing in as a shower.
He blushed just a little bit at forgetting. Geez, he was supposed to be the smart one. "Right." He watched her go.
Beautiful. Like everything else there. Why didn't humans build things like this? Actually he knew why. Still.
A few minutes later he stepped out, wrapped in one of the robes with a huge grin on his face. He was so darn comfortable.
"Here, I took a pair of basic pants, underwear and a basic shirt out of your closet. I asume this will do for now? You can change in your chambers otherwise", Manea offers, holding the fresh clothes through the door.
"When you are finished putting on clothes and a robe over them, join me in the nest for your wings?"
