mainly my dissatisfaction with sakavic in that particular point is the same thing i’ve been harping on for a while - retraumatizing andrew over and over again for the sake of it. it’s not… intense this time around, but putting him back in california is an active choice of hurting andrew, again, just for the hell of it. she chose to do that when it wasn’t relevant at all, just to make the audience go “aww poor andrew 😔 i hope he heals from this” as if he’s ever going to heal because sakavic is trying her damn best to prevent any sort of healing arc for him. or letting him just. not be retraumatized with every breath he takes

anyway. i haven’t continued reading just because i have other things going on in my life (read: playing detroit become human 500 times), but trust it will read by the time i leave tech school. hopefully. so within the next month or so!!!

what was the last thing you looked up for a fic (ask game :D)

i'm 99% sure it was a map of Hades / the Greek Underworld. I'm still mapping out the storyline for an orpheus/hadestown sambucky au that i have in the docs. i was trying to remember if it was for sure the River Styx it is that you have to get a ferry across and then i realized i had no idea what the hell the underworld even looks like, so I procured myself a map.

if you're wondering how that writing is going btw it's.... not going... because i have a vision in my head and currently i can't figure out WHY sam is there in the first scene. it probably just means i have to change the first scene. which is horrible but a necessary evil

Note the "one" in that sentence. But! I wrote and released Stardust a FULL MONTH after releasing a MCD tagged fic. Which does not get a happy ending. It gets dead. So.

so i essentially forgot that fic existed, thus forgetting you had written another MCD fic. but for me, also, i already built up in my mind that it would essentially be The Masque of the Red Death so for some reason my mind also convinced itself I already read it. even though you literally told me you even knew what The Masque of the Red Death even was. don't ask me i don't know i just live here

Just saw your post about continuing TGR (btw welcome back!) and wanted to know what your thoughts are on it now that you picked it up again?

i'm a little under halfway through with the book, and so far i like it, not as much as TSC, though. i don't want to really say anything definitive about it yet since i haven't read the whole thing (and therefore haven't given it it's fullest opportunity to present itself), BUT i will say that jean is. a very frustrating protagonist. sometimes (most of the time) he makes me want to bash my head in with a hammer. i feel like we are running in constant circles with him and his tied-up point of view. again, I'm hoping to see change in that as the book continues, because that's kind of. the point. of a story.

jeremy is good so far. nothing specticularly unexpected with his character in particular so far, but i wasn't really hoping for one? i like the idea that he's nurtured something good out of all of the evil he has grown up in and all that he has done, because it proves that jean still has the capacity and capability to grow from the evil of his environment and all the evil that he has done. all of the steps he's recommending to jean are because he's done them himself. he is living proof that change is possible. unfortunately, as of my point in the story, jean has yet to see that in its entirety.

KEVIN. kevin..... he hasn't left california yet so there is still hope that he says something Actually Kind to jean, but i am doubtful. i genuinely don't understand why they can't get along. sokavic can write and say it a thousand different languages, and i will NEVER get it. they understand each other so well, SO WELL, but if left alone without Exy to analyze, they are cobras waiting to strangle each other. let them LIVE oh my god

anyway. i do like it, it's so far just repeating a lot of the things that happened in the original trilogy in terms of the plot. however, the aspect of AFTG that i truly love the most (that of which of constantly being flabbergasted by the insane shit that characters say) remains in the story. the only thing that will get me to stop reading AFTG is if it becomes tame.

Hey gang for those of you waiting for my return just letting you know that running the muppet joker account has put a very real strain on my real life marriage and I have decided to step away from the blog for the foreseeable future.

I have been talking to her and everone else in my personal life "in character" as the muppet joker so that my blog would be as true to life as possible. I have been wearing Joker makeup around the house, which at first she found funny, but now she can't even look at me. I started compulsively fantasizing about the muppets and it's ruining our sex life. I accidentally called her Kermit in the bedroom and she made me sleep on the couch for a week.

Our son turned one year old this year on July 5th, on the day of Dashcon 2. My wife begged and pleaded with me to stay home and celebrate his birthday, but I was stupid and selfish and had become completely taken over by the muppet joker persona at that point. I went. I returned home to an ultimatum. Its my family, or it's the muppet joker. I chose my family.

Sorry tumblr. I have failed you. I have failed my wife. I have failed my son. I have to go now, to be with them, and to watch my child grow up.

Hey! Didn't wanna derail the ask and post about Haikyuu androids, BUT i got a recommendation for you! The plot/characters you were looking for made me think of the webcomic series LoveBot where an android gets hacked to give it free will and ends up on the run after nearly murdering his abusive owner. It's finished now with a neatly wrapped story and it's hosted on Webtoon if you're interested in that sort of thing?
