Been listening to a lot of Klaus lately.
The American Spirits Man
It's a facial hair fiesta today.
See what happens when I get a new blade and a whole bunch of plastic sheet to cut? Great things.
From the Hold Steady's "Chicago Seemed Tired Last Night"
Reads: We gathered our gospels from gossip and bar talk.
Poster-sized print.
You may be able to deduce that I enjoy the Hold Steady just a bit.
From Defiance, Ohio's "The Things We Won't Let Settle But Let Set"
Reads: Do you still sing your heart out?
Poster-sized print.
Started making these 5x7 inch prints of smaller stencils.
Reads: We never really made it that far west.
From The Hold Steady's "Don't Let Me Explode"
Set of smaller stencils put together.
Clockwise:
#1 Reads: Money costs some dreams.
#2 Reads: Good luck getting God on the phone.
#3 Reads: You'd hardly think it could keep on
#4 Reads: We never really made it that far West.
New stencil: I'm as American as The Hollywood Ten.
I made more bombs....it's more scary now.
More texturing, not a new stencil.
Reads: Just one more beer, then grow up.
I focused a lot on adding some texture to prints today, but made this stencil too.
Reads: Get eaten. Love, Fear.
I'm back at it for the rest of the summer until school begins again. Hopefully I can average one every few days or so....but this heat will test that.
This reads: Do you still sing your heart out?
Taken from: "The Things We Won't Let Settle But Let Set" by Defiance, Ohio.
Baudrillard Goes Cross-Country:
Hi all, this is a new project I am going to be starting. I leave this Tuesday (May 31st) for Philadelphia on the first leg of a trip around the country. The idea struck me today: What does this country need more of? Hope. This is why I am making one hundred posters with my pal Baudrillard's quote on it. I'm going to put these up in cities, rest stop bathrooms, sign posts, wherever!
Now I need some things from you guys. If you could reblog this it would be so awesome. I want to get the word out so people will start looking for things, or at least know about them in case they see them. I will be taking pictures the whole way along with where exactly they are and will try to put that info up on the web as soon after it is gathered.
Thanks dudes!
