watched season 1 and 2 of Kingdom (2007) and got attached
well while I'm talking about mika songs there's one called "touches you" that i really love and it goes like this:
and I've seen some other wrong interpretations of these lyrics, but personally I take it to be about when you love someone so deeply that you want to know every side of them, that you can't get enough of them, that you wish you could somehow fill in for every support they never recieved. like that protective feeling you get when someone you love talks about how shitty or absent their family is and you know they deserve so much better, they deserve the world, and you wish you could give it to them on a silver platter. they went to their family for support or advice and got ridicule and insults, and don't know how to ask for help from people who actually care about them, and you just want them to open up to you so you can ease their burden a little. it also conjurs to my mind that scene from queer where the two men sort of. merge? it's. the protective verging on the possessive. not in a manipulative way but in an all-consuming way. I wanna be whatever else that touches you. whatever else that moves you, that makes you feel, that affects you deeply. I want to be a part of that. I want to be all that's in and around you, I want to be everything you need but don't yet have. Let me be that for you.
anyways, that's my ideal jooster dynamic, if we're gonna get angsty with it 😅
something something jeeves’ eternal dedication to making bertie’s life beautiful and bertie’s effusive and adoring reverence for jeeves above all else. something something.
remember when i said this? exhibit a:
sorry to add to this but ive been listening to a lot of mika lately and I've decided that "good wife" is such a jeeves song and "talk about you" is such a bertie song and since this particular thesis was being echoed in your post i simply had to share my headcanon... it just sums up their dynamic so well. look:
good wife--mika
talk about you--mika
jeeves just wants to make everything so nice for bertie and bertie just wants to bore everyone to tears with praise for his jeeves 💞

I had the idea of Altaïr staring down someone from across a busy market and HAD to try it!!
some of my favourite girlies across the j&w series! (idk what the heck they're wearing, pls don't ask, i went with pure vibes)
should i do other girlies like Bobby, Florence, etc? And aunties for sure. And some boys, come to think about it.... wow there are a LOT of characters within this universe, help

Jeeves’ musings regarding his employer.
A short comic, that came from how often Bertie is used and made a fool of in the books and series; of course this is a big comical pillar of J&W, but I started to think of how much it could weight on Bertie, and, after years of service and the deepening of their bond, on Jeeves. Hopefully the writing is decent enough, and I am sure I am not the first to explore such an idea. I will transcribe the text for easier viewing:
“A great number of words has been written on the subject of my employer, Mr. Wooster, and his various misadventures.
Many a gentleman or lady come knocking at our door, calling for my employer's aid...
Whether that be in the form of a favour…
…or, more simply, money.
Mr. Wooster has, for this reason, been described in many accounts (and very often by himself) as foolish, naive, and lacking spine.
On one occasion, I myself must admit to having referred to him as “mentally negligible". This declaration, in truth, revealed much more of my character than that of Mr. Wooster.
For the truth is that Mr. Wooster happens to be kind, instead of brilliantly cutting; good natured, instead of respectably distant; and caring, instead of decorously cold.
No, he’s not a fool at all.
These may not be the traits of the proper gentleman; but they are those of a good man, one I am proud to stand beside.
So I shall strive to follow his example, and be kinder; and be more goodnatured; and (this, in truth, comes easier to me when it comes to him), to show my care, and the regard which I hold for him above all others.”

im continuing a deep dive into the J&W lore, and the ill-fated Lloyd Webber's musical based on these stories have caught my eye (..ear?) especially.
one of songs from said musical, to be more exact.
while the rest of the soundtrack felt more of a hit or miss, I did find myself really enjoying "Travel Hopefully", specifically the original 1975 version (since it was later rewritten for the musical's revival in the 90s). Neverminding the over-the-place orhestration and performance, it gave me something of a realisation, and upon reading the original stories later that realisation seemed to check out...
i just find it awfully endearing that Bertie, essentially an orphan for God-knows-how-long and the main scapegoat among his relatives who mostly seem to disregard and degrade him, has found almost a familial type of connection with Jeeves - essentially getting from him something he's been missing amongst his own blood family. A sense of home, comfort, belonging, whatever it is. It's kind of bittersweet too if you look at it the certain way. But mostly very touching idk.
this lil visual of mine sprang from the abovementioned song (tho it doesn't correspond with the context of the musical number whatsoever, I just went with VIBES and inspiration); the text is taken from the chorus.
jeeves is a big cat that bertie pays money
