It has been slightly over a month after MaoMi's urgent right eye surgery. MaoMi’s right eye has been opening more in the last 1-2 weeks. Several follow-up visits to the vet indicates that the eye is ok. Keeping fingers crossed that the healing process continues to go well, and the cloudiness (due to the surgery) will go away eventually.

MaoMi had the urgent eye surgery on 6 Sep 17 by the only eye specialist currently in Singapore via Amber Vet.

The eye specialist, Dr Oliveira, said the surgery went well. Bill totalled S$3,537 - - invoice/receipt attached. The second photo shows the sequestrum that was removed from MaoMi's right eye. The 3rd and 4th photos were taken by the vet clinic during surgery. The 4th photo shows the eye after the sequestrum was removed. Sorry if it looks scary/gruesome.

Contributions received so far for MaoMi’s surgery totalled S$960.69. All contributions have been used to pay for the surgery cost of S$3,537. The majority of the surgery cost is still covered by myself as MaoMi’s fosterer. There’s also MaoMi's medical costs for his chronic illnesses to take care of, which is more than S$3,000 to-date. I am thus extremely financially strained.

MaoMi will be going for the eye surgery in 2 days time (this coming Wed, 6 Sep). The surgery now most likely to involve three procedures: (1) fix a torn jagged third eye lid, (2) surgical removal of sequestrum which has grown a bit bigger over the last two weeks, and (3) graft to patch the hole created by the removal of sequestrum. Cost of surgery expected to be S$3k to S$4k (donation received is S$730.69). Please help contribute to the surgery cost and/or share this post. As a stray cat feeder, I used to feed MaoMi, an old stray cat, when he lived under an overhead bridge. MaoMi needs an eye surgery asap which will cost more than S$1K.
