I love every single person who reblogged this
I don’t think people realize how much of an impact this kind of support can have, I don’t think everyone knows what these little things can mean to us.
It may just be me, I don’t know. But every single time I see this on my dash or on someone’s blog or anywhere else, I kind of just breathe a sigh of relief. That’s one more person who cares. That’s one more person who doesn’t hate me.
Because it means so much, especially when all the media is spewing out is that I’m a terrible person and no one wants people like me near them. It means so much because I’m tired of people who won’t sit next to me in class, or who choose to join the longer line at the grocery store because they don’t want to be beside me and my family. It means so much when I have to lift my head any time someone says the words Islam or Muslim because I’m scared that they’ll say something that’ll hurt, when I have to pay attention to the news because who knows what so and so is saying now, who knows which of my people are being attacked now, who knows what’s going to happen to me now.
It means so much because I’ve been given the idea that the world is against me. And a huge part of it may be, but at least I’ve been reminded that some of it, just a small group of people, acknowledges that I’m a person too. That people like me are just that, people.
Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know. But now you do, so thank you for believing that I’m human when so many people don’t.
Most definitely reblog.
Never lump you in a group, as long you are just trying to live and cause no harm, then you are just like me. We’ve got to survive this together.

whenever I’m traveling I always get tripped out at the fact that this is someone’s actual hometown like they know every back road and how to get everywhere and they’ve probably had tons of memories in this city

the momfriend: (is very gentle and comforting, carefully and calmly helps you work out the root of the issue, gives you lots of space and the affection you need)
the sisterfriend: (pushes you over) alright nerd what do i need to beat up for you? a boy? your feelings? do you need me to punch your feelings?
the dadfriend: (tries to be comforting, generally awkward, likes to make you laugh when you are feeling down, puns)

I want to go on a roadtrip. I want to sleep in crappy motels. I want to sing along to happy songs while driving. I want to watch the sun rise in a different city every morning. I want to take pictures of new places. I just want to go.
Leo Sun & Sag Moon when asked if they're single
I love deep talks. Like, hell yeah, tell me about why you’d prefer to talk to your mom rather than your dad. Tell me about your favorite lyrics in the songs you listen to everyday and why they’re your favorite. Tell me about the dog you had when you were growing up and how he was your best friend. Tell me about what kind of books you like to read when you’re alone in your room. Tell me about the things you think about right before you fall asleep. Tell me anything and everything. I just want to be the one you tell it all to. Please let me be the one.

I thought LGBT people and allies around the world might want to know about what’s going on in Italy at the moment.
You probably know that the current situation for same sex couples in this country isn’t the brightest. Pretty much no recognition. At all. Now, the government is finally working on a law for registered partnerships that would guarantee some rights to couples and the so-called “stepchild adoption” – though this point, still different from a “full” adoption, is really controversial and could undergo changes.
Opposition came quickly and the most traditionalist side of the country (mainly catholics) organized a “Family Day” to protest against the law – which will be discussed on January 28. But LGBT associations are going to respond. They are all joining forces. They organized manifestations on the exact same day chosen by the traditionalist protestants, January 23 (turning the Family Day into a Family Gay) in 72 different cities all over Italy. And still counting. IT’S GONNA BE HUGE. So Italy is going to look like this:
We really want to make our voices heard. We are tired of being invisible. This is still so far from marriage equality, so far from what many other European countries have achieved. We are stil very far behind, and it’s just not fair. But all those red marks stand for squares that will be crammed with people. All on the same day. All asking for equality. All over the country. And they won’t be able to ignore us anymore.
I wouldn’t usually ask this, but in this case I’d appreciate if people shared this to let everyone know what’s going on in this country.
Gay marriage might have been legalized in the US and in other European countries, but here it feels like we’ll never even have partnership rights :/ this isn’t even the first time it’s been attempted and it’s always been refused for ridiculous reasons.
As always, Italy stands out for lagging behind when it comes to LGBT rights…
PS: Here (in Italian) is a list of the places where it’s organized if anyone who is in the country wants to participate.
