do you ever just get sooo angry at the amount of useless untalented people who make millions off their mediocrity… literally the only reason they’re rich and famous being that they’re conventionally attractive. and i always see “you’re just jealous because they’re rich” as an argument and it’s like yes you’re right! because they don’t deserve it 😂 there’s so many beautiful people in this world who deserve that wealth more than them and here they are just swimming in it like it’s nothing. i hate it honestly.

ughhhhh i hear you and i know the conversation about nepo babies is so tired but this is the exact feeling i get whenever im forced to hear about them LOL. "you're just jealous because they're rich" is such a nothingburger of an argument because it's like well.........yes! i don't think rich or even consistently financially stable people understand how much struggling with money eats up your whole life. you can't self actualise. you don't have much or any freedom. you can't even relax. it's not so much about money inherently as it is about quality of life which is something they'll never understand bc their quality of life has never been threatened!! they can move through the world taking on shitty passion projects and being awful at what they do without worry and without repercussions and this is why no matter how hard they try they will never be able to relate to the common person. no matter how badly they want to be able to emulate our authenticity LOL. it is infuriating and you're right to be mad!!

#have been lower class all my life #social mobility is an uphill climb #i feel this frustration on a granular level every day #we all deserve access to self actualisation #we all deserve high quality of life #and before anything else we need to take care of each other #to ensure none of us fall through the cracks #you do not deserve to hoard wealth you don't need actually.#share whatever resources you can #on your deathbed it will not matter the money you accrued if you die with no one to love you or nothing you authentically loved #money is not a substitute for a life well lived #ruminations

this is a pretty silly question, but do you ever feel like it’s been getting harder & harder to speak to/befriend people our age? i do, especially online. maybe i’ve personally just been having really bad luck? but dozens of dozens of people i’ve met have just been really mean, judgemental, try to come off as apathetic as possible, etc. ive been in so many gcs/spaces where ive seen if someone tries to strike up a convo people just respond with “oh” or “erm.” or they’re all just cringing at someone for liking or enjoying something. i’ve also had a lot of experiences of being unable to hold convos with people bc they only want to talk about themself/ their own interests & then the convo dies when i try to do the same. idk where i’m going with this honestly, but i feel a huge difference from even just a few years ago? even if we were strangers or didn’t end up clicking i could still have a lot of interesting convos with people, it honestly makes me a bit sad to see so many of us being so scared to talk to people and have more silly interactions

oh yeah i mean broadly speaking ppl are absolutely allergic to anything or anyone that exudes the slightest bit of earnestness esp online. i think its gotten worse the last few yrs like this absolute need for everything to be dripping in irony, hyper self awareness, nonchalance …… anything that’s not super curated is going to get that “oh!” or “that’s not-“ reaction. weirdly feels like that school environment where everyone is kind of laughing at you all the time (or waiting for the opportunity to.) and unfortunately that makes it rly hard for like any authentic human connection to happen which is shit bc i feel like we’re all so lonely but our communication skills have collectively atrophied …….. i rmr back in the day i could talk to the most random ppl in skype group chats even if we had nothing in common it was just ppl hanging out from all over the world and that was so cool ! now the internet just feels like one big performance and one big shopping center simultaneously lmfao. there’s not a lot of substance or even fun there anymore. ANYWAY! im sorry you’re having this experience too, i completely understand how isolating and depressing it is. if you ever want to chat about stuff you’re interested in my inbox will be open - i would love to hear it 💌💌

swinging at the bees nest here but a criticism of trans women i've never really understood is that they just "take the idea of womanhood and co opt it and run with it based on their own whims." like ummm yeah? that's kinda what i did too. i wasn't handed some objective universal definition of womanhood that i faithfully carried out at every turn with no objection. i built my own understanding of what being a woman meant based on the women around me and the women i admire and the things that felt authentic to me and the things i rejected or embraced. like we all inherit ideas about womanhood and then negotiate with them. otherwise we'd all genuinely think the only "real women" left were those fucking trad wives

Sam terrified of anyone he catches any feelings for getting hurt and then he does for Cas and has to feel himself kill Cas and then when he does come back he ends up stabbing Cas in the back and Cas does end up dead even if not directly from that wound and then when Cas comes back again he's catatonic from taking on Sam's trauma in some form and Sam just has to keep doing it keep loving Cas and seeing Cas die at some point again and again.

(Okay, idc, I’m reblogging this thing again!) So, besides just the epic amounts of sass in this, one of the other things I deeply appreciate is that when Sam shuts down her idea, he in no way tries to demean her abilities. Like, with a lot of people, if they’re trying to shut someone down, their go-to is to insult them. Like, “Don’t be an idiot.” or “That’s a stupid idea.” But Sam knows she isn’t stupid, and also that she’s more than capable of doing just what she proposed. And he acknowledges that while still letting her know in no uncertain terms that it’s not going to happen.
