Me time.
Emotional attachment to general kindness can be the first sign of an emotionally abusive relationship in the past.
The smallest gestures of positivity are viewed as romantic or even angelic by currently abused individuals and past abused.
The first step to help the person come to reality is to introduce them to the norm of general kindness. Patience and example can help open the eyes of the survivor and let them feel comfortable in a world where not everybody who lends a smile is their saviour.
Understand that the survivor hasn't met a normally behaving individual or has been forced to keep away from them.
Hope can be born amidst chaos. But if it doesn't walk away from it, that's where it will die out as well.
Sometimes all it takes is one action done repeatedly.
I was repeatedly hurt. Now I'm broken.
Black Women Invented Rock & Roll: Pt 1. -- Ronnie Spector.
âWe were in a car, and they were in a bus following our car. They were a bunch of scraggly looking guys. But I loved them and I especially loved Keith, because I love that rugged look he had. Mick was, like, a pretty boy maybe. Keith used to say, âOh, we would have great babies because you have that black, thick hair and I have black, thick hair.â Now his is not so black. (Ronnie laughs) I remember Keith and Mick asking me about James Brown and I said, âI donât even know the guy.â â Ronnie, on touring with The Rolling Stones. (They were HER opening act in 1964.)
Veronica Yvette Bennett (later known as Ronnie Spector) was the daughter of a Black-Cherokee mother and Irish-American father. Her older sister, Estelle Bennett and their cousin Nedra Talley (Black-American, Cherokee and Puerto Rican) formed The Ronettes, an American girl group from Harlem, New York in the 1950âČs.
Ronnie would marry Phil Spector of Philes Records (pictured here) in 1968 and has been quoted to say that he was destructive and bizarre â including adopting children without her knowledge and surprising her with them for Christmas. He kept her a prisoner in their Beverly Hills mansion surrounded by barbed wire and guard dogs, even hid her shoes to keep her from trying to run away.
âKeith Richards was there before I even got there. Heâs known to be late. I got to the studio, and then Joey Ramone came in. Itâs kind of dim in the studio and Keith is on one mic and Iâm on another. And you can see Joey sitting in the control room, just staring. He looked at Keith; he looked at me. And that was like his dream. To see Ronnie Spector and Keith Richards in one room. He didnât move when we were in the recording studio. He died shortly after that. That was the last time I saw Joey.â â On recording with Keith Richards in 2006
âEven in the Sixties, we didnât party. I remember going to these clubs, and people would be slobberingall over me because of alcohol. It would make me sick. Everybody tells me I look so great for my age, and thatâs because I didnât do drugs. I drank beer and smoked cigarettes. But I looked after my voice. My voice makes me money. But even if that wasnât the case, I still wouldnât have gone to clubs. It was boring to me.â â Iâm Married to the audience. (Ronnie Spector)
Ronnie with Bruce Springsteen [1975] and David Bowie and Iggy Pop [1976]
With looks to match her formidable talent, the cat-eyed siren bewitched the likes of John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie â all of whom vied for her affections â and served as a muse for Brian Wilson, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and even punk pioneers, the Ramones.
Her fiery live performances laid the groundwork for generations of front-women to come, and her edgy fashion is still in style. Decades later, her influence lived on in Amy Winehouse, who frequently cited Spector as an idol. âWe took it from the streets to the stage,â she says of the Ronettesâ iconic pencil skirts, thick mascara and sky-high beehives. âThatâs why they called us âThe Bad Girls of Rock ânâ Roll.ââ
âThe people need to feel the music. Thatâs whatâs so important, and thatâs what is missing. You have to let the audience feel you, you have to let them feel the love, feel the rock & roll, feel the energy.â â Ronnie Spector
âThe most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman.â
-Malcolm X (1962)

Ima just leave this here. No one should get offended by any of this because this is literally saying âtreat your son like a human being so he can understand himself as he goes through lifeâ

the lea michele situation is actually a prime example of why we should be wary of performative activism right now. if you are supporting the cause by protesting, donating, posting your support, etc. thatâs great! but this problem goes so much deeper than just police brutality.
every single non-black person who has posted #blacklivesmatter this week needs to take a step back and analyze whether or not their actions (not just their words) have shown that they truly believe that statement. itâs a clear and obvious choice to speak out against the brutal murder of an innocent man. however, if you are not making the obvious choice every day to speak up for us when your friends/relatives make racist jokes, if you are not listening to and respecting the black people you know in real life, if you have not sat down to analyze the ways you actively benefit from this system, if you have not worked to start unlearning the biases you were raised with, or if you thought âblack lives matterâ was a controversial statement until this week, do not pretend to care just because everyone is talking about it right now.
when these protests are over, there will still be many battles to fight. this is not a game, and this is not something you post about just for likes and clicks. if you are resting easy right now thinking that youâre âone of the good onesâ for showing public outrage over a situation that should anger any reasonable person, you need to do more. racism is not something you can pick and choose when to be against. we donât get to pick and choose when we experience racism. so if youâre going to get involved with this situation right here, right now, then you need to be ready to hold yourself and others accountable for anti-blackness in all other areas of your life.
white people can and SHOULD reblog!
HOW TO DONATE TO BLM WHEN YOU HAVE NO MONEY
a black woman named zoe amira posted a video on youtube. this video is an hour long and filled with art and music from black creators. it has a ton of ads, and in result will rack up a ton of revenue. 100% of the ad revenue from the video will be dispersed between various blm organizations, including bail-out funds for protesters. it will be split between the following, dependent on necessity
brooklyn bail fund
minnesota freedom fund
atlanta action network
columbus freedom fund
louisville community bail fund
chicago bond
black visions collective
richmond community bail fund

youtube will donate to blm for you.

WAYS TO SUPPORT/BE AN ALLY
Here is a compilation of places to donate (IF you can, simply reblogging and sharing this can help) and petition to sign. I found these websites and organizations on twitter.
DONATIONS
THE MINNESOTAÂ FREEDOM FUND: Donate to this to collect funds to pay jail bonds for the protesters who get arrested.
BLACK LIVES MATTER: An organization fighting for the BLM movement. Donate if you can.Â
BLACK VISIONS MN: an organization that is led by Black, Queer and Trans people. Donate if you can.
NAACP Legal Defense Fund: Fights for the overall equality fight. Donate if you can.
PETITIONS
Willie Simmons has spent 38 years in prison for a $9 robbery. He had two prior convictions similar to robbery that he served time for. He was prosecuted under the Alabama Habitual Offender law and was given a life sentence for his third strike - stealing 9 (NINE) dollars. Sign his petition.Â
Breonna Taylor was killed by police who were conducting an UNANNOUNCED drug raid, where they gave no request to enter. They bashed her door and entered, shooting her EIGHT times. They were in the WRONG HOUSE.Â
George Floyd was killed by a police officer who knelt on his neck and suffocated him to death, after George pleaded with the officer and told him he couldnât breathe. The officer had pulled him from where he sat in his car on an alleged FORGERY. You can also text âFLOYDâ to 55156
ARREST THE OFFICERS WHO KILLED GEORGE FLOYD: The main police officer who murdered George is being kept in PROTECTIVE CUSTODY. You probably have heard he was arrested, but this is NOT TRUE. He was placed under PROTECTIVE custody because of the riots and âthreatsâ on his life.Â
If you know of ANY other organizations or petitions, PLEASE ADD TO THIS LIST. The fight for justice doesnât end here, it will never end. Especially when the president of the United States calls white supremacists good people and protesters of a mans death THUGS. USE YOUR VOICE. NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE. FUCK COPS. FUCKÂ âBLUE LIVESâ. ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER!
the minnesota freedom fund is asking folks to donate to other organizations instead. the specific ones they listed are black visions, linked above, and these two:
northstar health collective, organized healthcare professionals working with anti-authoritarian groups
reclaim the block, a collective that aims to redistribute funding away from police and towards more community-oriented projects in minneapolis
these are the links i send to my facebook friends who keep running their mouths about âthe protests hurting the communityâ
minnehaha food shelf &Â calvary church food shelf are both centered in the south minneapolis area where the riots started. the grocery stores in the area have been decimated, so food shelves and food insecurity charities need a lot of love right now.

migizi is a native american media/history nonprofit whose office was destroyed in the riots
we love lake street is devoting funds specifically towards rebuilding the lake street area in south minneapolis

Here come reasons to never look back at who I was. Just remember who I was. I was a child till i left my parent's home. I knew nothing, did nothing, and felt too much. My body was painful, my mind was controlled, and my future unclear. I'm happy it's over. I'm struggling to move on, tho.
I've expanded and opened my art field. Can't say to what or where, but I found a flow. It's all I needed.
sometimes i wonder if the gay gay will gay the gay. but if the gay are already gay... how can you gay a gay? what makes gay gay? will gay turn gayer if you gay it every day? am i the gayest? we can find that out only by asking you to try to gay me.
