I feel I’m best at being present with the special people that I have the pleasure and privilege to be very close to, those who I love… I feel I’m best at looking them in the eyes and trying to speak as best I can, but mostly singing to them, singing for them. Sometimes I do ask myself why this is… why make myself this vulnerable- when heartbreak always feels it is just around the corner? But so is jubilation and the best of times (that’s what I have to believe whole-heartedly or else the whole ship sinks). If you don’t have faith in the universe, how you gonna make it through?
Sometimes still, I do ask myself why this is…why do I make myself this vulnerable, when heartache is just around the corner? Is it true what my folks say- that this is my purpose? Sometimes my heart and soul tire of this hamster wheel of sharing declarations of love and offering my truest self- metaphorically naked in front of a world that is both salivating at the sight and scared shitless of it. Where’s my next stop? When do I get off the train? Who’s waiting for me at the station?
