HONESTLY
Hi! I'm in the 8th grade right now and trying to decide on wether I should do marching band or cross country. (Schedules conflict so I can't do both) So I just want to ask what your favorite aspects of marching band have been.
There are actually a few people in my band that do marching band and cross country. In my opinion, the best part about marching band is having a family. No matter what, they’ll always be there for you, and going into high school it helps a lot because you meet so many people. I love that parts of the band are so close, and that someone will always have your back. Also, a lot of band kids will stick up for you and care about you whether they like you or not. No matter what you chose, I hope you enjoy it. ((:
hey guys, if you have any ideas for posts feel free to tell me. ask or send me a message. ((: thanks!
ask me questions, if you want
What is your most embarrassing moment on the band field
hmm. probably that one time (or two) when i was dancing, and the band director called me out over the mic. but it was also kind of funny.
Fav color(but in a picture of a band uniform that you love)
i like this one (: thanks!
(ft. the drumline since no one really talks about them)
Is there ever drama with your section leaders? Or Does anyone in your band have a problem with dating other people in the band? (I love your blog by the way ✌️)
Usually section leaders don’t get in other leader business, but YES ALL THE TIME on the dating thing. Then they break up, and it just causes tension within the sections and the band. And every single person in the band knows when couples are having problems, it’s kind of funny. There was also a guy who flirted with so many girls and caused so much drama, the band director had to talk to him about it. And thank you!
I just read your post about y'all being cold at 55 degrees and it made me giggle bc when summer weather is done it's like 12 at the highest it's always below zero at our last competition I hate Iowa weather
correction**** it actually gets as low as 50°

What if there was a special school for band and orchestra kids. And you had to live in dorms and/or apartments with people who play your instrument. Imagine someone trying to practice and another person yells down the hall "YOUR C# IS A LITTLE FLAT"
OMG
so true.
Memorable things the sections have done
(in my band)
flutes: put on eyeliner just for band camp
clarinets: get pizza at every sectional ever
saxophones: i don't know...you guys never really talk
melophones: have extra sectionals and practices
trumpets: tell me to stop talking then turn around and start a conversation
low brass: actually do productive things at sectionals
battery: play football instead of learning music at practice

friend: it's the middle of spring

MARCHING BAND AF
MARCHING BAND'S A SPORT OKAY
you know what? i think marching bands a freaking sport. i’ve been in everything from soccer to gymnastics, so i do actually know what its like to be in a ‘real’ sport. the definition of a sport is “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment”. we work out and condition just like other sports. we are so determined and devoted, practices can be longer than nine hours. do we have any skill? try simultaneously marching with good form, playing memorized music, and carrying an instrument up to sixty pounds. and competitions? you think we make a whole show just for your friday night lights? hell no. we have competitions. competitions that people come to watch, for entertainment. if you could do me a favor and start actually appreciating the band kids and getting off their backs, that would be really nice. because i think “marching band isn’t actually a sport” can translate to “i wouldn’t ever be able to do what you guys do on the field”.
whenever i dont wanna hang out w/ ppl i just tell em i have band
yet we all came out so defective
who even came up with the idea of marching band i mean what the hell
