Marinette mostly has to deal with the drama of it only from her classmates while Adrien is cringing in silence but no one really looks his way cuz why?? would they?? So he kinda gets off mostly scot free and maybe Marinette gets the occasional random Parisian or journalist trying to ask her about Cat - and her friends freaking out for a few days that their clumsy tiny baker friend somehow landed one of the superheroes - but for the most part, the rest of Paris and Alya would mostly be maybe a little disappointed their ladynoir/adrienette ship didn't sail - "I guess Cat moved on from Ladybug, huh? Who is this chick?" and any media kinda forgets about it within the next week or so -
But if LADYBUG.... Was caught smooching up a storm with MODEL/ACTOR ADRIEN AGRESTE... NEITHER OF THEM can get away from it in EITHER IDENTITY and HERE'S WHY:
Once the Ladrien photos of them undoubtedly making out hit the interwebs, the Ladyblog fucking EXPLODES - Ladynoir shippers and Adrien fangirls alike are crying, school turns into a fucking war zone Adrien has to navigate cuz Lila is about to commit a fuckin double murder, Chloe's going for the world record of how many Ladybug magazines one can tear apart with their teeth -
Alya is of course trying to be reasonable cuz it's not like she can control Ladybug or that she'd even know, but she admittedly feels lesser toward the heroine just cuz the whole thing is hurting her best friend :( and so to Marinette's horror she can't even hide from it all as herself cuz ALL THE GIRLS in class keep drawing attention to their "poor heartbroken friend :(" who hasn't been able to look at anyone in the eye or stop constantly internally screaming cuz Adrien is also blushing SO MUCH cuz the class is just LOSING it that Adrien MADE OUT WITH FUCKIN LADYBUG and looks like he wants to vanish into his chair becauze of HER and oh no what is she going to say to Cat next time she sees him oh gawd what if this really upsets him-
And also Adrien can't get away from the attention of it by turning into Cat cuz now all of fuckin Paris is treating him with mixed reactions of pity/sympathy that his obvious crush went for someone else in the most publicized train wreck possible but if everyone would just sTOP FUCKIN LOOKING AT HIM maybe he'd actually get to enjoy how much on cloud 9 he really is cuz his stomach has NOT stopped flipping since her lips were on his oh curse Plagg's bad luck, if only no one SAW he'd have a CHANCE-
Cuz NOW Ladybug is trying to comfort Cat like "omg I'm sorry I didn't mean for this to happen, I will NEVER EVER kiss Adrien as Ladybug again, this was SO irresponsible of me, I know this has to suck for you just as much, I'm so sorry-"
But Cat just wants to scream, cuz how the FUCK does he tell her just how much he supports her swooping Adrien up and kissing him till his lips are swollen again without sounding weird or like he's lost his damn mind while the "as ladybug" part flies right over his dumb little head-
And now not just all this shit, the AKUMAS get much more aggressive toward Ladybug while Ladynoir can hardly even focus cuz GABRIEL is also flipping the FUCK out cuz why and how is she courting his son, and so goes into a paranoid dramatic spiral in his attic cuz what if this was HIS fault for showing Ladybug his son's photos that one time she was at his house?? For putting him in situations where she'd have to rescue him?? Was underestimating his son's beauty his hubris?? His downfall?? Or what if she's actually playing a game to get back at Hawkmoth cuz she secretly knows that's his son which is BATSHIT but he can't help but think it when yet ANOTHER GODDAMN REQUEST in his email for an interview with "the boy who stole Ladybug's heart" attached with THAT SAME DAMN PHOTO of his son pinned up against the wall by his arch nemesis is her revenge and his fuckin punishment
