For some context, this is a quick cleaned-up version of one of the very first drawings I did for this story. When I joined this year's ML Big Bang I didn't know what to expect and I never thought I would put a fic with such an angsty vibe in my top 3, but... Kuro's words just reeled me in. This scene in particular was so vivid in my head, that once we were officially paired I just had to put it to paper. A few months and some suit redesigns later, here I go with a better version of it. I hope you'll be as curious as I was to see more!

And it turns out Ladybug isn’t the only one. When an akumatized villain appears, she forces her victims to not only see their soulmates, but also the most difficult moment in their future—a moment that can only be avoided if the fated pair doesn’t get together.

Chat Noir would have been thrilled at the discovery that Ladybug was his soulmate, if only it wasn’t at the cost of her death. Even Ladybug is devastated to realize for the first time what could have been between the two.

Reluctantly, the partners make the decision to leave what they have learned about each other behind. Ladybug decides to finally do something about her long-time crush, and Chat Noir begins to see his classmate in a whole new light.

Surely, nothing will go wrong when Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain-Cheng begin dating.
