“Probably.” Valerie shrugged. “Then again Christie is staring at everybody so I wouldn’t take that as a sign.” The woman was weird, she would stare at people a lot, Val always found her too odd to approach, besides if she approached her, what would they talk about? Budgets?
“I don’t remember the website’s name.” Which wasn’t a lie, because she truly didn’t. “Although you can see the link all over the Twitter. It’s the first thing comes up when you search Marcus Howard.”
Of course, as usual, his useful assistant remembered nothing actually useful. If Marcus saved a penny in a jar for every time like this he simply considered firing and replacing her, he’d have enough to buy a yacht. But he wasn’t in charge of HR or the hiring of people who were assigned to help them. Such was his great luck.
He hadn’t glanced at the article yet or even looked it up, but Marcus wasn’t going to let anyone besmirch his name quite so easily. “Listen, you finished law school, right?”
