Can it be done father? Can a man change the stars? A KNIGHT'S TALE (2001, dir. Brian Helgeland)

dandelions are magic. literally tiny suns in the grass that turn into the moon and then the stars when you blow on them. fucking insane.
Fucking insane
holy shit
[[Comic ID: Three colorful panels illustrated with markers, showing off the dandelions as the sun, moon, and stars with the original text overlaid. Bright yellow rays erupt from a scattering of sunny dandelions in the first image, spiraling into the surrounding greenery like a Van Gogh painting. Then one massive dandelion puff, viewed from below, takes up the whole night sky. White ripples surround the dandelion, making it look like a dark pond peeking through the grass. In the last, a child blows on a dandelion from a grassy patch shaped like a lily pad. From high above, we see the distinctly botanical seeds turn into stars and sparkles where the wind catches them. End ID]]

Ghost Files - "The Ghoul Boys vs Robert the Doll"
good luggage goes in the fun bubble
When I was in college, my Stage Craft teacher showed us this. Basically the machine heats up a sheet of plastic, and once it’s malleable enough it’ll be blown up to make room for whatever you want to imprint in the plastic. Once it’s in place, the air reverses and the plastic vacuum-sucks all around the object.
He demonstrated it on a baby doll and it was like a baby had been frozen in carbonite. I got to take it home and I still have frozen-carbonite-baby to this day (his name is Franklin XD)

"Explaining binary search to a cop" should've caught on as a saying tbh.
I forgot about the context to this. God this is so funny
Image description: screenshot of two paragraphs that read, "Afterward I found a chat room thread among Cambridge computer scientists, one of whom had also been told that unless he could pin down the moment of the theft no one would look at the footage. He said he tried to explain sorting algorithms to police - he was a computer scientist, after all.
"You don't search the whole thing, he said. You use a binary search. You fast forward to halfway, see if the bike is there and, if it is, zoom to three quarters of the way through. But if it isn't there at the halfway mark, you rewind to a quarter of the way through. It's very quick. In fact, he had pointed out, if the CCTV footage stretched back to the dawn of humanity it would still probably have only taken an hour to find the moment of the theft. This argument didn't go down well."
every time i freak out about microplastics i recite to myself the “born at the perfect time to watch riverdale” post and quite genuinely it gets me through the day sometimes. like ok i’m being poisoned. pass the jughead
Quilt guild president: the summer quilt challenge. As you know it is the 250th anniversary-
Guild: -chilly silence-
President: so the challenge to you all is a quilt with your interpretation and/or feelings towards our current “democracy”
Guild: 👏👏👏
President: I know this bunch. I am sure you will come up with something spectacular, and it will probably get angrier as the summer progresses. Full quilt, mini quilt. Go wild, release some emotions.
How I spent my July 4th.
Appliqué almost done. Then onward to the background stitching
At the start I thought stitching “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” for the last quarter would be therapeutic
I was correct.
Close to finishing the top. Now I gotta figure out how I want to quilt it.
I have one more line of embroidery and I think it needs to be bolder and messier than I started it.
Hard to tell in this light, and without ironing it, that the embroidery does get gradually bolder as it goes. Two strands at the top versus 5 at the bottom (6 for the started to be redone final line).
Not bad for first time doing appliqué.
Still need to decide how I want to quilt it.
I miss taskmaster
Father. It's churu time.
