Hey there, I'm Alien (She/They). I'm a college student who enjoys Unfiction and D&D, and currently trying to get back into writing. I saw the tag for introductions, and I thought I'd throw my lot in and see what happens.
I feel slightly intimidated attempting to post here; I don't actually have that many readable works as I do a lot of my writing for D&D and the people I play with. From what I've seen, it seems like there are a lot of established writers on here, so I hope my making an introduction is at least accepted, despite my lack of an extensive body of work.
Regardless, I do write! I love character pieces, as evident by my tabletop background. I love slice of life, romance, drama, and anything that can be a good vehicle for an existential crisis. I used to be a Wattpad frog in its early days. These days, I lurk around several Unfiction and ARG projects. I just love putting my characters through hell and seeing how it turns out for them. Usually pretty well, but I've got one who's teetering on fully going rogue.
I'd love to find fellow casual writers here, maybe even those who love the same things I do! This is my first return to Tumblr after years of being away, so a lot of things are going to be new to me. I don't think I've messed with anything that disables messages or asks for me, so feel free to send things my way.
Check out the stuff I'm working on down below:
My Current (Public) Projects
Whole At Last
A story inspired by To the Moon, we travel through Leo de Serra's life, an accomplished photographer and family man who is searching for that "missing piece", despite his successful life. We follow the scientists Evan Rosales and Nina Cruz as they race against the clock to grant Leo's wish before his untimely demise.
Genre: Mystery, Romance, Sci-fi
Status: Completed
Technically not a novel or short story or anything, but I was brought on as the head writer for this student film. It was my first ever screenplay, and I'm honestly quite proud of it, despite my amateur attempt! We needed a quick turnaround for this project, so this took a month straight of work, from conceptualization to the final* script.
Set within the wonderful Verdane, The City of Prosperity. We follow Stephanie Auclair as she lives her life both as a citizen within the Shadowed Districts of Verdane and as a member of the Outcasts, a guild that thrives in the shadows doing the dirty work that's needed to be done in order to keep the city from falling into disarray.
Genre: Action, Fantasy
Status: WIP (probs forever)
This one is of my D&D Character for a campaign our table runs called "Verdane, the City of Prosperity". Steph's a little troublemaker who wants to prove to the others around her that she's capable of great and noble things... Even if she comes from a guild of killers. I wrote this several months after our campaign had well and truly started, so it was an interesting challenge to make it fit the existing events of the story while showing something new about the character. In present time, Steph is going through A Lot™ and has to contend with what it means to be good and do good.
Wow this was long. I think that's everything, for now. I have a couple other odds and ends and an attempt at an ARG, but these two are the biggest things I've done to date. If you've made it this far, hi! I hope you're doing well. I'll be signing off for now.
The campfire crackled against the sounds of the wildlife. One dreary night, under the light of Selûne, two newfound companions filled the quiet.
“What was what like?” Lilianne solemnly replied. Her hands shivered as she held a cup of warm water, taking small sips to abate the chills.
“Almost meeting your maker,” Jan struck back, with a matter-of-fact tone. “Sorry, I shouldn’t joke.”
The two sat in silence, drinking in the aftermath of their first encounter. It was only hours ago that the two had met the chilled touch of the undead—the corpses of Jan Reinbach’s old attendants left to rot in a home he had long forgotten. Only hours ago that the two had been confronted with the reality of the life they were trying to live.
Lilianne sighed. “It was… sobering, to say the least.”
“People always say that us Hin—uh, Halflings—that we’ve got a lucky streak,” Her fingers traced the rim of her cup, looking down at Selûne’s reflection in the liquid, “These past few months… I don’t know.”
“Hells, you’re still alive, aren’t you?” Jan scoffed, “I’d say your blessings haven’t run out just yet.”
“Only because you were there to back me up,” she laughed, “Guess I was lucky about that.”
Jan threw in a piece of firewood, stoking the flame. “Ah, it was probably all my fault. I should’ve never come.”
“No, no,” Lilianne assured him, “Neither of us could have known what was behind those doors. It was only right of you to have wanted to come. And I wanted to help.”
“Guess we’re both a little in over our heads, huh?”
The sounds of the critters and the birds filled the space once more. The two continued to eat their supper in silence.
As they prepared to turn in for the night, Lilianne spoke up.
“Should we check again in the morning?”
A moment of contemplation.
“No. There’s nothing left for me here.”

This is a little snippet of my PCs, Lilianne Everpetal and Jan Reinbach, from "Leaving Home", my Solo D&D 5e game! My last post should be the introductory post about the whole "project". This is one of the first few scenes that I had played through using Mythic GME 2nd Edition and D&D 5th Edition (2024). These two almost died after their first encounter together, and this conversation is the aftermath of said encounter. There will be more to come ^^
I've been slowly playing a Solo TTRPG adventure over the past month, and after joining the Mythic GME Discord server and seeing everyone post and write about their adventures, I thought I'd start blogging about mine here.
For those who don't know, Solo TTRPG Gaming is when a single person takes the role of both Game Master and Player. This seems like a weird concept for games that are inherently designed to be a group experience, but with the aid of tools designed to "emulate" a Game Master (namely "oracles"), what was once an experience designed for a whole table can now be experienced all on your lonesome.
Why would someone ever do this? For me, it's two reasons: 1.) Scheduling as a pain, and I'd love to inhabit these fantasy worlds more without having to wait a week or two, and 2.) I want to practice my writing abilities. I spend so much time thinking about my little blorbos, but most of those thoughts are either stuck in my head or lost to the ether when they leave my mouth and are said aloud only to the audience of my fellow players at the table.
So far, I've been using this solo gaming experience to systematically craft a narrative through a series of dice rolls and my own imagination and using these story beats to organically craft a plot that I could, eventually, turn into an actual story. In essence, I'm journaling out a whole D&D campaign and novelizing it bit-by-bit.
Right now, I don't have much; My adventure's been sparse thus far as I've been taking it slow while I get to know these game systems and how they interact. I'll be posting more in the future as I finish scenes and reach a point where the plot starts "picking up". I'll also be posting a more technical write-up of what systems the adventure is using (for the solo gamers out there reading this post).
For now, you can read a little snippet from her first few nights!
I can't get my thoughts straight. So much to say, yet nothing of substance. I just feel awful. I want to say something, to let my feelings out, but I just turn into a rambling mess two sentences in.
huh okay. surprisingly less Citizen Soldier than I thought there was gonna be, considering i am Always fucking listening to Citizen Soldier lmao but whatever

I've discovered all these artists at different points in my life and for different emotions and reasons. It's tough for me to skip through all of em :>
I don't have 10 people to tag, but I'll tag my friends c:
@mysmistree, @writingwithfolklore, @satanicbard, and @arino4u! If anyone not tagged happens to stumble upon this post, feel free to participate anyway :D
tagged by @yourlocalegotisticalqueerishere thanks for the tag!
Last Song: currently listening to ICU by Citizen Soldier (at the time of starting this post). before that it was Gone Too Soon by Daughtry. at the time of finishing and posting this, i am currently listening to Lucky One by Simple Plan
Favorite Color: dark purple. always dark purple. dark purple my beloved <3
Currently Reading: nothing atm because i haven't had the chance to make another trip to the library, but the last book i read was The Meaning of Birds by Jaye Robin Brown! Very sad but very good. I've also recently read Stars, Hide Your Fires by Jessica Mary Best, The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester by Maya MacGregor, and I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver! I very much enjoyed all 4 of them, but I will say that The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester was definitely my favorite :)
Currently Watching: rewatching Star Trek: Discovery with my dad (and introducing my mom to it at the same time), watching Only Murders in the Building with my mom for the first time, and my dad and I just recently finished watching Star Trek: Lower Decks. plus my mom and I are always in a perpetual rewatch of Legends of Tomorrow and/or Arrow (though they've been on pause a little bit lately). now I'm just waiting for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol to come back in late September lmao, among other shows
Last Movie: uhhhh I'm honestly not entirely sure. I think it might've been either Heart of Stone or Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, but I could be wrong about that
Sweet, Spicy, or Savory: definitely savory. i do love salt lmao. i do still have a bit of a sweet tooth but nowhere near as much as i used to, and now it's mostly reserved for white chocolate and other vanilla-flavored things lmao
Relationship Status: i am so, so incredibly, painfully single and i do not see that changing anytime soon unfortunately
Current Obsessions: uhhh, i guess my usuals? Citizen Soldier, of course, Legends, The Walking Dead, Star Trek. those are like. the main ones, idk.
Tea or Coffee: neither. i can't stand to drink either of them, they both taste nasty to me ngl. just let me have apple juice and i'm set
Last Thing I Googled: uhhhh ngl i think it was 'savory definition' just to make sure my "i love salt" comment would make sense LMAO but before that it was the 4 books I've read recently to make sure I was getting the names of the authors correct
andddd idk if i actually have 9 people to tag but i'll do my best.
No pressure tags: @forthehonorofgrey @chocolatemilk25 @for-forever21 @lochjhessmonster @lola-andheruniverse @justpalsbeingals @marimacha-tonto @mari-the-alien and anyone else who wants to! (just pretend i tagged you lol)
Last Song: The Summer Ends by American Football. I've been putting together a "Coming of Age/Last Summer" vibes playlist to inspire me as I conceptualize this slice of life campaign I wanna run :>
Favorite Color: Pink and Green, 1000%. I love pink because it's cute, and I've come to really love green because of my whole alien motif. I don't quite love green as much as one of my friends, though, so I could never take that away from him hahah
Currently Reading: The Burning Bridge by John Flanagan. I finished the first book in this series, The Ranger's Apprentice, and thanks to it, I finally understand the ranger fantasy. I always had trouble understanding what "ranger" was supposed to evoke, only to find out that everything it's supposed to be is what my D&D 5e rogue character already is.
Currently Watching: Nothing yet, but I had just finished a rewatch of Dimension 20's Mentopolis. The summer campaign I'm going to run will be using the Kids on Bikes system, and Mentopolis was an amazing game that showcases it. Plus, I love Brennan Lee Mulligan <3
Last Movie: It's been a good while since I've sat down to watch a movie, so I think that would have to be The Menu. I was watching that as inspiration for the last campaign I ran which surrounded a cult :) The cult leader gave a speech to her townsfolk very reminiscent to how Chef Slowik talks to his kitchen.
Sweet, Spicy, or Savory: Sweet all the way. I love savory, and I can tolerate spicy, but ten times out of ten, I gotta pick something sweet, but not too sweet.
Relationship Status: Single 😩 And hopelessly gay
Current Obsessions: D&D and TTRPGs. I've been obsessed over that in general, but I've been itching to run a new game. I just wish schedules allowed it!
Tea or Coffee: Neither! I just don't like the taste of either, honestly. I haven't found a way of preparing coffee that doesn't taste bitter to me, and tea is not the most accessible thing for me. I'm a big hot chocolate fan, though :)
Last Thing I Googled: Technically? the IMDB page for The Menu lmao. Before I started this post? Some D&D 5e rules text for warlock invocations lmao
No pressure tags: I don't know too many people here, but i wanna send this to @mysmistree, @writingwithfolklore, and to Norm at @preservationofnormalcy :>
its so wild like “this generation with no fucking money is learning to prioritize essentials” and all these chucklefucks can write is advertisements for these companies
AND FUCK DRYER SHEETS LITERALLY NOBODY EVER HAS ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM WITH STATIC TO WARRANT PAYING OUT THE ASS FOR THAT SHIT
DO YOU WANT CLEAN CLOTHES? YOU DON’T EVEN NEED TO BUY FUCKING DETERGENT JUST MAKE YOUR OWN* IT’S SO GODDAMN EASY AND 80X CHEAPER
FUCK THE ENTIRE LAUNDRY INDUSTRY
*Fuck The Entire Laundry Industry Recipe
1 cup Washing Soda (not Baking Soda. Different things.)
1 cup Borax (not Boric Acid. Also a different thing.)
½ cup - 1 cup grated bar soap (you can use literally anything. I often use Ivory because it’s easy to get and I find it works well, a lot of people like Fels-Naptha, which is an actual laundry bar. Some people use Dr. Bronner’s. Really does not fucking matter.)
After grating your soap, combine all ingredients. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Use maybe a ¼ cup per load.
Also you can MAKE your own washing soda very VERY cheaply.
Step one: acquire $5 bag of baking soda from Costco.
Step two: lay that motherfucking baking soda out on a baking tray.
Step three: bake the baking soda on a tray in an oven at 400° for 1 hour (to make the moisture evaporate, leaving washing soda)
Step four: revel in how easy and cheap it is to make your own washing soda, and maybe take a moment to be angry that the industry upcharges the fuck out of something that is so easy to make.
I see some of y'all complaining about static and/or wanting nice smelling laundry. Go to a craft store, find 100% wool yarn balls. If it doesn’t come in a ball, ask an employee to make it into a tight ball for you. Wash in the washing machine to make it felted. Remove from washer, add a few drops of essential oil to the ball, allow to seep in. Dry with clothing. Doesn’t need to be rewashed ever, and if it stops smelling, add few more drops of essential oil. Bam, reusable dryer sheets.
