“there you go. see, easy.” she looks at you while whispering, you knew this was wrong, what you were feeling for her. But you cant help it. She has a sweet praising tone, shining down on you with a proud look, a soft toothy smirk lingering in her lips.
“thanks. I’ve been practicing a lot lately” You say, looking down trying to hide your blush from her eyes, either way she’s clearly oblivious to any feelings you have, with the way she unknowingly flirts with you, or maybe, just maybe, shes doing it on purpose.
You were an intern working under Dr Mel King, she was supposed to be your mentor to help you learns things outside of nursing school, to get some hands on experience. Who knew she would have you flustered, tripping over your words just by some simple, professional praise.
“Uh uhm Dr King! I think i need help!” You shout out into the hall hoping she will come, your patient was having trouble breathing after an allergic reaction and the epi wasn’t working.
“hey is everything oka- oh.” mel quickly swing into action, examining the patient and pushing the correct medication for them to breathe properly, Her brows furrowed and eyes focused as she injected the medication into their IV. Finally the patient was stable. Although the trouble was over, your heart pounded replaying the disappointment on her face when you failed to provide the correct medicine for your patient. After the patient was discharged, you lingered in the room, head in your hands visibly stressed.
Mel approached you with curiosity in her gaze, she knelt down to reach your level as you sat in the chair next to the hospital bed.
“Whats wrong?” her hand is resting on your forearm, thumb rubbing in circles
“Hey.. I cant have my favorite intern all worried like this” you look up at her, tears welling in your eyes by her comforting words
“This is my first time messing up. what if you didn’t hear me and that patient suffocated? what if they-“ she cuts of your ramblings
“hey hey hey.. shh its okay don’t cry… You did so good today. dont focus on the one tiny mistake thing of all the lives you have saved today.” her unoccupied hand comes up and wipes a tear threatening to spill from your eye. Your heart pounds against your chest, the feeling on her skin on yours amplifies as you look into her eyes past her glasses, hanging low on the bridge of her nose. Anger bubbles in you, how could she sit here and act like this as if she likes you? you heartstrings tug thinking of her playing with your feelings
“Just stop it mel! god why do you do this??” you say standing up sharply pushing her hands off of you
“what i- i didnt mean to-“
“why do you act like you like me? i cant take this anymore. do you know how hard it is to have you treat me like this when you dont even like me?” you cry to her frustration and sadness painted on your face
“of course i like you! i just said your my favorite intern!” mel says looking oblivious and confused by your sadness
“no mel. I mean i like you as in I want to date you- god never mind forget i-“ your sentence is quickly cut off by lips pressing against yours, hard an loving, moving slowly against you, pulling you in by your waist, on hand cupping your cheek. Mel pulls away, her lips glistening with your cotton candy lip gloss
“sorry, was that good?-“ she whispers into your mouth, breathless and panting. you quickly push your self against her lips clashing back together kissing now with fervor and devotion. your lips brushing against hers everytime you pull away for air. Mels hand creeps down to your neck, lightly caressing your head to tilt so she has better access. shes planting soft kisses working her way down to your exposed throat. you whine into her for more as her lips caress you collar bone, your hips desperately rutting against her, needing more.
“i’ve got you baby, is this okay? ive never done this before” she breathes into your neck
“yes- we should stop- were at work” you huff out your face flushed as she looks up at you, she whines into your collar
“you’re right i just need you so bad- you’re so pretty. i wanna kiss you again. i have wanted to have you for myself since the second i saw you.” she is now the one acting pathetic, her heart pounding.
You two separate, both flustered like horny teenagers,
“uhm do you maybe wanna come to movie night tonight with me and my sister? i would really like to see you outside of work. i have been wanting to be your girlfriend for a long time.” Mel asks you, nervously fiddling with her hands
“i would love that.. and maybe you can finish what we started.” you whisper into her ear, more confident now. You walk away giggling at her lack of ability to stay composed before she can respond.

The streets had a strange transition when you walk from piltover to zaun. it was like walking from heaven to hell. Being a journalist was a good gig in piltover for awhile, but like almost no one in piltover you wanted a change, a revolution for the undercity where all could live as one, which is why you were wandering into the unknown of the undercity to publish a story on how the people are truly treated.
You stuck out like a sore thumb with your nice clean polished dress and makeup, although you were alone, you could feel eyes on you. you turn your head to see glowing pink eyes that seem to disappear the second you see them. you walk faster.
You knew about silco’s reputation and strange hold he had over the undercity, so obviously you had to try hard to find dirt on him and his plans. Thats why you find yourself standing infront of the last drop. As you stumble in the doors, people pushing past you, you have that same familiar energy that your being watched
“hey sweetie, whats it gonna be today? i can tell you ain’t from here” a bartender practically coos at you from the other side of the bar, as if you wouldn’t understand him otherwise.
“because I’m not from here. I’m also not a puppy. Don’t speak to me as if i am one.” you quip back, fast and full of fire
“woah there, didnt know pilty princesses could be so firey” the bartender is smirking at you, revealing his teeth. You ignore his creepy demeanor and order a whiskey to try and loosen yourself up, you weren’t from here and people could tell, and that’s a dangerous game in a place like this.
As you down another sip of your whiskey, the bitter taste running down your tongue, you see a flash of pink light pass by you from your peripheral, you tell yourself it’s the booze making you see things, as you slowly turn back to face your drink. After a few minutes, you feel like your mind is foggy and in a daze. Something wasn’t right. Then it all went black.
“Who are you? Did Vi send you? or was it her enforcer girlfriend sending you after me?” A voice pulls you out of your cloudy daze, you meet eyes a familiar shade of pink staring into you as you’re being interrogated. you feel the tight ropes, rubbing your wrists tightly together.
“i dont know what you’re talking about. let me go please i didn’t do anything ” you cry to her, worrying your mother was right, that this trip was dumb and dangerous
Jinxes eyes shifted as if someone else was speaking
“SHUT UP! She doesn’t think that” Her head whips to the other side of the room “I DIDN’T FUCKING KIDNAP HER”
“you kind of did” you quip, she quickly turns to face you. worried she may react violently, you flinch away from her
“wait no… i didn’t- i didn’t mean to do anything like that.” she whimpers out, she quickly switches to being defensive “You cant just walk down here in your prissy clothes and hair. you are going to get yourself killed what did you expect??? better me then some random man taking you.”
your eyes look around as if this is some joke“how is this better huh? i’m still drugged, tied up and in a dingy room.”
“you wanna know how this is better? i’m gonna help you. first i need to know why you’re down here.” she seems much less suspicious of you now
“I’m here for journalism. i’m an undercity activist. now how exactly are you gonna help me?”
“First off i’m gonna get you out of these clothes, help you blend in toots. secondly, i’m not leaving your side. as long as i’m here no one will mess with you.” she smirks at you coyly
“okay, now whats in it for you?” you ask, fearing you have been pawned into some undercity fighting rink
“whats in it for me is getting to spend my time with a pretty girl. And you’re going to write in your little journal that i’m innocent. deal?” the softening look in her eyes made you feel a odd sense of trust in her

when Cassie walked into the room you knew you were fucked. it was a dumb decision to choose to work on this case. you should have known cassie would choose to work on the crash case. You and Cassie have been in a secret relationship for about 5 months, and it was getting increasingly hard to work alongside her as her resident.
The ER is rushing with different doctors scattering to stabilize the crash victim, you and Cassie brush hands reaching to grab oxygen tube the “Great minds think alike” cassie says breathlessly from the rush of the ER, you flinch away from her touch.
“i didn’t expect you to take this case..”
“well then just keep quiet till its over.. can you do that for me?” she whispers to you, her hand brushing your lower back as she leans into you. You flush and walk away, saying “we cant do this here. i will see you tonight love”
“hey whats going on with you two” you whip around to see whittaker smiling at you whiling eyeing the room where cassie is working on the patient
“w-what i dont know what your talking about” you say visibly nervous
“jesus i think were gonna need to start another betting board..” whittaker walks off sighing
You knew it was a bad idea, when you and Cassie began going out after some drunken confessions, you agreed to not work on cases together. but here you are, with a damn betting board on the wall named “are they together?”
everyone was suspicious at this point trying to get one of you to crack under the pressure, Whittaker had practically exposed your relationship and now you really had to ensure you wouldn’t slip up.
Cassie walked into the patients room while you were checking to make sure they were still stable, although unconscious, they were stable.
“hey doll, did you hear about the board?” she slides up next to you whispering to you her eyes trailing up and down your body
“Cassie this isn’t funny, what if i lose my job! what if people don’t support us being together, i love you but i’m scared.. what if we have to break up” you say eyebrows furrowed and eyes watery
“poor baby.. it’ll be okay i promise. no matter what i don’t care what happens, i will be by your side. I will quit this damn job if it means i can be with you.” at this point shes holding your hand, rubbing her thumb across your knuckles for comfort.
“I just hope it doesn’t change anything if people know.. atleast Dennis seems to be supportive”
“honey if anyone is betting on it they support it. the people here are like family. i promise they wont judge.” she plants a soft kiss to your lips, your lost in the feeling of her plush lips pressing on yours, you can taste the shitty ER coffee on her breath mixed with her mint gum and cherry chapstick. When she kisses you its like sparks flying, but at the same time it was calming and comforting, making your bad thoughts melt away.
The door swings open, you quickly separate, breathless and flushed
“I KNEW IT!! Shots on me tonight fuckleberry! i just won 200$!” Santos shouts across the ER
“they’re together?! damn thats 20$ down the drain” Robby mutters looking less then disappointed about his loss, seeming more happy his colleague and friend Cassie bagged the cute resident.
“well i guess the cats out of the bag sweetheart.” Cassie leans in with that sarcastic glint in her eyes, teasing you for all your worries, her hands resting on the curve in your hips.
you lean into her, relieved that all the sneaking around is over (although making out in scrub closet was fun) as you look into her eyes and see her smile, you realize this is okay, and that you can spend you life sitting here like this with her looking into her eyes, not caring what others think.
