when hyoseong thinks of high school her memories of either of school work or joohee, there was never an in between. it was there when she met her entire world, where she finally branched out from her lonely personality and following the sun that was her friend. she still remained relatively quiet; at a distance she may have seemed bright and charming, but the moment other people stepped into the girls circle for two she shut off.
of course there were some exceptions. they were very rare, and hyoseong made it obvious that she wanted to keep her between herself and anyone who wasn’t her best friend. song shiyeon, however, had seen hyoseong at some of the best moments of her life. but like most of the people she met through high school, their entire existence was pushed into the back of her mind after joohee’s death. she can hardly put a name to those people’s faces now, her life revolving around wanting to avenge joohee’s death by killing every deity.
today she had finished her morning shift at the cafe and took to walking around, doing a little window shopping. she stops in front of an antique shop, looking through the window and peering inside before her eyes meet with someone else–someone familiar.
It was a charming shop; her family friend ran it and today Shiyeon was looking for a new bedside lamp. She was examining the one in the window. it was old fashioned with a gold finish and pink tinted shade. Shiyeon eyed it carefully before spotting another looking through from the outside. She made eye contact with the girl and recognized her almost immediately. It had been many years but Shiyeon well remembered faces. This was Hyoseong; a girl from her school days. It wasn’t a girl of great importance in her life but she had gone to some social gatherings with her, not that they ever really talked one on one.
She smiled at the old acquaintance sweetly. She waved one hand and meekly waved. “Hey.” Shiyeon called through the glass at Hyoseong and turned completely towards her.
