#Blackgirlmagic hits the academy. But when will it hit our paychecks?
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, between 2009 and 2010, black women earned 68 percent of associateâs degrees, 66 percent of bachelorâs degrees, 71 percent of masterâs degrees and 65 percent of all doctorate degrees awarded to black students.
The report also says that black students attending college has increased from 10 to 15 percent from 1976 to 2012, while the percentage of white students fell from 84 to 60 percent.
By both race and gender, a higher percentage of black women (9.7 percent) is enrolled in college than any other group, topping Asian women (8.7 percent), white women (7.1 percent) and white men (6.1 percent).

A Good Writer
A good writer can never be happy,
From happiness does not come the anguish necessary to convey pain onto a blank page,
Happiness does not permit the tortured soul to bleed misery into words,
Happiness does not allow the agony of existence to be communicated,
Be weary of a happy writer,Â
For a good writer can never be happy
You can still get STD's with condoms on
HPV Syphilis Herpes
Just incase you didnât know because most donât đŁ
This. This. This. Omfg this.
lol I made this post months ago Funny how since Usher and his herpes comes to the light thatâs when Majority of y'all started caring đ€ŠđŸââïž
To add onto thisâŠ. info from someone who screens for STDs: 1. Condoms protect against fluid 2. Anything skin to skin can be contracted 3. A new form of Gonorhea has developed that is resistant to antibiotics 4. If you have unprotected sex and get BV or a yeast infection it is because your vaginal pH does not mix well with the pH of his semen 5. That means you can get HIV 6. MORE THAN HALF OF THE POPULATION HAS HERPES 7. Type 1 is usually oral (cold sores) Type 2 is genital 8. You can give someone genital herpes if you have a cold sore and give them head 9. You can give someone cold sores if have genital herpes and receive head 10. Herpes lies dormant for years sometimes so you could have gotten it 10 years ago and it just now pops up 11. Most screening sites will not test for it, unless asked, because it cause problems within a relationship 12. Untreated chlamidiya (đđœ Iâm trying) can make you infertile
You gave the most informative add on thank you Idk wth everyone else is talking about
Reblogging this again for the âI hate condom dudesâ
Two ways to protect yourself:
Get the vaccination for HPV. Itâs not just for cis women! HPV is nasty and causes cancer.
Donât be afraid to have a little light in the room to start out with, even if you later turn it off, to check things out with a new partner or hookup. Herpes is most contagious when there are blisters present.
Also, if you find out you have an STD, the etiquette is to tell all new partners until youâre cured or firmly undetectable and let all previous ones you may have infected know.Â
Please donât be afraid to get thoroughly tested! An STD isnât the end of the world, especially if you catch and treat it early.Â
More about HPV:
When people hear HPV, they think cervical cancer and genital warts. You can have HPV without visible warts. Also, if you are infected with HPV, times of increased stress and low immunity can cause warts and leisons to appear where there werenât any.
Furthermore, we have screening tools for HPV and cervical cancer in women. Itâs called a Pap smear. Itâs not just some uncomfortable screening your provider does for funsies. Follow the recommendations and get your pap on time. Women ages 21-35 are at the greatest risk of HPV infection.
Additionally, GET THE HPV VACCINE whether you are a man or woman. Even if you are past the recommended age and you have had HPV before, you can protect yourself from infection from other strains. While the link between cervical cancer and HPV in women is well known, the people most likely to die of HPV infection are men. Throat and rectal-anal cancer from HPV infection is on the rise, and men(straight or gay or bi) are the most likely to be infected and go undetected, since there are little to no screening tools developed for men. Itâs not just promiscuous people who get infected with HPV. Men in long-term committed relationships are contracting it through anal or oral sex with a partner who has been infected with HPV from previous sexual encounters. I canât stress this enough: HPV IS FAR MORE DEADLY IN MEN SIMPLY BECAUSE IS VIRTUALLY NO SCREENING TOOL FOR IT. The best thing men can do is protect themselves before they contract it by getting the vaccine.
And finally: if you are a man and you notice and abnormal lump or knot or tingling or ANYTHING in your throat or your anal-genital region, do not hesitate getting that examined by a medical professional! As a medical professional, I can promise you itâs not nearly as embarrassing as you are making it out to be in your head. It is statistically proven that men are less likely to use primary care and preventive mecidince and screenings by a WIDE margin and therefore more likely to suffer fatal infections and cancers. Donât be another statistic. Take care of yourself. Take HPV seriously, because it is. It can kill you and youâll never see it coming.
Iâve reblogged this before but Iâll reblog it again because being safe during sex is important, not being careful COULD LITERALLY KILL YOU. This isnât to scare people off sex. Sex is great, just be safe
idgaf if this makes me soft but I honestly canât wait to be married to the absolute love of my life and live in our home and adopt our dogs and be working our dream careers and just enjoy the dreamy simplicity that is our peaceful and full of love life
During an interview with The Clay Cane Show, Rhames revealed a police officer pointed a gun at him as he stood on his doorstep in Santa Monica, California.
The confession came after Cane asked the Mission Impossiblestar about his experiences with racism.
âI am sure you hear about all the reports of black men being attacked by police,â Cane asked Rhames. Â "You are a big star, but how does racism show itself in your life?â
Rhamesâ answer proves, despite his stardom, he still deals with the reality of being a black man in America.
âThis happened this year. I am in my home, it was around 2:15 p.m. in the afternoon,â Rhames said. âI have a screen door and then I have a wooden doorâŠ. Iâm in my house, Iâm in a pair of basketball shorts only. I have two English bulldog puppies. I hear a noise in my backyard, but Iâm thinking the puppies are just running around, and then I get a knock on the front door.â
When he opened the door, Rhames says he was staring down the barrel of a 9mm handgun. The man with the gun pointed at him, a police officer, was supported by several other officers, the chief of police and even a police dog.
âI open the door and there is a red dot pointed at my face from a 9-mm. They say put up your hands, literally. I just walked and opened up the doorâŠ.Then they said âopen the front screen door.â They say do it with one hand so then I have to do it with one hand. My hands are up and they have me outside,â Rhames says.
The chief of police recognized Rhames, and had the officers stand down. The officers revealed a neighbor called 911, telling the operator a âlarge black manâ had broken into a home. When Rhames and the officers visited the person who made the call, that person denied it.
Rhames knows he was lucky, but the situation made him worry about his son.
âMy problem is, as I said this to them, what if it was my son and he had a video game remote or something and you thought it was a gun?â Rhames asks.

This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.
Thatâs my Sociology âbookâ. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; thereâs something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.
This is why we download.Â

REBLOG FOR GOOD JOB GETTING KARMA COME ON GRAB A PIECE
10 July 2018
Reminder: Do not buy from Amazon or even open the website on 10 July 2018, in solidarity with the transnational strike.
Amazon workers in Spain have called for a transnational strike because Amazon has been avoiding accountability for its labour rights violations by merely shifting the work (and the human rights abuses Amazon inflicts on their workers) to non-striking countries, each time a strike occurs. If there is widespread striking transnationally, Amazon will have no choice but to recognize the strikersâ demands in order to keep their facilities functioning.
Our job as allies is to support the strike by avoiding using the Amazon website or purchasing anything from Amazon for as long as the strike continues. A mass boycott of the site, coinciding with the strike, will strengthen the workersâ bargaining position and could be crucial to Amazon workers gaining back basic rights in a variety of countries.
Please remember this includes subsidiaries like Twitch and Audible.
This is tomorrow!
Please do not shop on Amazon tomorrow.
Please do not stream Amazon music or video tomorrow
Please do not order from sites using Amazon Payments tomorrow.
For one day, please, avoid it.
