February in Crested Butte was such a blast! Can't wait for more...

The fourth annual Bachelor Big Wave was totally radical. It was amazing coming back to the event, after winning it the first year it ever happened. It's funny, looking back I didn't even know who Gerry Lopez was four years ago. I can't thank him enough though, for the board and for the inspiration. I'm not sure I would have ever gotten in the water if it wasn't for him. Give a girl a surfboard...

The event has grown so much and has brought out a bigger community of riders than ever. I was pretty stoked to be up on the course taking photos. It was quiet and intimate, feeling the energy of the riders turns and sprays. Watching the pro surfer guys snowboard was very cool and just seeing my friends ride made me so happy. I feel so lucky to have shared this awesome day with everyone and will never cease to appreciate the roots of the ride.

I have a soft spot for heavy machinery.

Thanks to Jared Scholz at Mammoth Unbound for the ride alongs during Ms Superpark and public park builds this past month. It's always a nice treat, especially when I am off of snowboarding due to injury! Also, gave me a chance to break out my 35mm camera again and burn some film while the boys burned some diesel...oh the sweet smell of spring!

So much work goes into pushing park, and it takes dedicated people to make it happen. It's quite a different lifestyle than the norm, up all nite working, breakfast at 2pm then back at it when all the riders have left for the day. Much respect goes out to these guys, the industry would never be where it was without them!

Had fun watching friends old and new ride the killer set-up and capturing the moment since I couldn't strap on my board yet! It was the first time hiking up and down hill on snow since my knee surgery though, and was glad to have my camera with me!

I didn't expect to enter a rail jam this year and I was even more surprised when I podiumed out of a field of nearly 30 girls! I think I got extra points for the super cheese grin I had on my face all day! I've got an invite to the finals at Mammoth this spring, so it'll be a nice, and completely different event, after all of the Freeride Qualifiers coming up...

Back in December I headed to Mt Bachelor to be at the Dirksen Derby. It's such a fun event and really celebrates the love we all have for riding. I love to go fast and the right-hand course provided. It wasn't until the very last turn I lost control and flew off, right in between the fence and trees! I unstrapped and hopped back on the last flat track and one footed my way to the bottom. I could have rode those berms for days! So much thanks to Dirksen and everyone else that made it happen, I plan on bringing my shovel next year! Also really stoked to get a photo on the Burton Girls Blog, it's not everyday I get to ride in mitten and a t-shirt.
