Yep. I got back on twitter. After passing the PLE, I was more lax on life and more mature (thought I could handle the toxic world that is twitter better now) so I decided to reopen my twitter account. Funny how having my friend change my twitter password so I can’t open it did not work because I just used the ‘forgot password’ option and voila I’m back twitter world! So yes I’ve been using it again, but not stressing over it anymore.

And yes, tumblr world, I’m a licensed doctor now!

Been doing April Han workouts since lockdown (about 2 months now) and I’m really amazed by how it has become an everyday routine. I really love her workout videos because the atmosphere is really chill, I love the music and the vibe. It’s like there’s no pressure at all, she’s not gonna shout encouraging statements every now and then. It’s just you, believing in your body and mind that you can do it. Her exercises has no jumping and no equipment needed, thus, can be done at the comfort of my own home. They are hard at first but after a couple of days I got used to it. I also love how she has stretches at the end of each workout vid. I did not measure my body parts like how she did since I don’t want to pressure myself and get disappointed if I don’t see results. I just depend on the feeling my body gives me. As long as the workouts get easier each day and as long as I feel good about my body, I know there’s progress. I have only been doing the arm, thigh and calf exercises. Today, I decided I want to do more that’s why I added 5 workouts (damn) to my routine. I really love April Han’s workout vids, go check her out. :)

I’ve also been doing Yoga as part of my everyday routine, and for this my go-to is Sarah Beth. I love how my posture has improved and the pain in my lower back eased. This week, I’m doing her #7dayyogachallenge. When the routine I took for the day is kind of active, I would always end my workout with her basic yoga cool down. I’m just amazed and surprised by what my body can do each day. The breathing technique is specially helpful.

In addition, I’ve been doing some face yoga exercises for a week now. Since we have a lot of time, this lockdown period has made me more conscious about my face and I’ve noticed lines and some sagging. To ameliorate, I looked for face exercises that I can add to my routine and voila! I don’t think we’ll have noticeable effects in this one any time soon but there’e no harm in trying, right? Maybe if I do them everyday, my 50-year old self can thank me later.

That’s all, I just want to share that it’s amazing I got into this routine this lockdown period and I’m hoping I can still do these when I go back to reality, I mean, Manila.

Today, I cut my own hair.

I wanted some textures so I looked for youtube tutorials on how to layer my own hair. I’m satisfied with the result. No regrets.

I am not sure if this is the proper venue to air my sentiments towards the Philippine government, but this is my blog so I’m gonna post this anyway.

The Philippines does not deserve this asministration. From the ineffective approach to COVID-19 pandemic to oppression of freedom of speech - they just won’t stop. Not to mention issues on extrajudicial killings and POGO operations. Let us not forget about the PhilHealth exploitation on our OFWs “for the benefit of the universal healthcare”, which is, btw, not universal at all. As a future physician, I do not feel any security at all given that the admin gives so little importance to our healthcare workers. Even the WHO is worried about the percentage of COVID-positive healthcare workers in the country. I’m no lawyer but I’m pretty sure there’s been a lot of injustice going on care of our corrupt officials.

Can I talk about how I got rid of twitter from my life?

So I was in 1st year medical school when I decided to let go of twitter for a while. I was really struggling with the workload and I felt like I needed to focus more on my studies if I wanted to survive. I did not want to be so harsh with myself as well so I thought gradual separation from it would be best from me. I asked my friend to change my password so that I could not open my twitter, but still recover it in case I have a mental breakdown. You see, I was dependent on twitter back then. Time passed by, 1 year.. 2 years... 3 years... 4 years... and I did not open my twitter anymore. It gave me more time to study and at the same time it detoxified me. The less words I posted, the less mistakes I made. It’s also a lot less stressful to not see what’s going on with everybody else. It taught me to work on my own pace. I saw my genuine self more, less influence from social influencers. Just me. So yeah, I think I’m better off without twitter.

Dream Catcher: The man of my dreams.. literally.

I just got a new boyfriend. My first probably. And so as the ‘good girl’ as I am, I brought him home to meet my family. He’s staying over for the night, I’m sleeping in my room, he’s in my sister’s.

I was already in dreamland when I heard someone singing outside my room, and also playing the guitar. I looked through the space between my door and the floor and confirmed there’s someone outside my door standing. He’s wearing grey socks.

Of course I knew it was him.

I turned my light on and looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was messy so I fixed it a little. I opened the door silently so as not to wake up anyone.

He smiled at me.

I smiled at him.

I knew I had to invite him in to my room. But he jokingly went back to my sister’s room which was just beside mine, as if saying “what, you expected me to come to your room?” But I knew he was jut kidding. So I pretended to go back inside my room and slightly closed my door. He went out again. I opened my door again.

All of these happened while he was playing the guitar and singing a song.

He stopped singing and was about to come into my room when my Mom woke up and went outside their bedroom. At the same time, he was about to enter into mine.

I pushed him away whispering, “My mom’s awake.” He went back to my sister’s room and I closed my door saying sorry with my eyes.
