An inclusive asexual short text about intimacy.
The kiss came from nowhere.
That was a lie. It came after days of longing. Of small glances. Of shy smiles, between way broader ones.
And it came after the question.
‘Would it be okay … to kiss you?’
The reply came in a small nod that did absolutely no justice to the feelings bubbling up in both of their chests.
And so they kissed. Like children really. Not like the full-grown adults that they were. None of them daring to go too deep and none of them wanting it to stop.
Eventually, they had to laugh. This was all so … stupid. Funny. Unexpected.
Hum… Maybe not that unexpected, actually. Since their first talk. There had always been that tension between them.
Some people called it a sexual tension.
Except, one of them knew very well that it could not be that. Because sex was not an option. Not something pleasant. And not something they could share if they wanted to enjoy the moment.
And the other … well. The other had enjoyed sex. Enjoyed it still, once in a while. But this time, it just seemed out of the question. Because they had talked and talked and they had come to know each other.
‘Maybe it’s better if we stop now, I don’t want to frustrate you.’
A laugh. It was so foolish.
‘The only thing that would frustrate me is you stopping before you want to. Do you want to stop now?’
The kiss again. Deeper this time. And somehow, gentler.
Like the hand that ventured under the fabric to stroke the skin. Ever so slowly. Leaving all the time and space if anyone needed to stop.
But nothing came. And so, on the fingers went. Discovering a whole new world which shivered under their touch.
It had been so long since the last time someone had explored this body. It should have been scary. Being stuck like this with your back stuck against the wall and someone blocking your way out with their caresses and kisses.
Because one word, one whisper, one moan would put out the ember of loving lust in those familiar eyes and turn it into an ocean of worry and tenderness.
This was the safest place in the whole universe.
