so i know we're all into the neurally connected mech pilots because the transhumanism theme fucks and it's dope imagining metal skin and sword gun arms and feeling combat wounds lacerate through synthetic material. but. listen to this. instead of a combat mech with arrays on arrays of precise mechanical parts to be moved in sync by your brain matter, a transport mech with life support systems, logistic out every orifice, machinery and electronics constantly running that need to be maintained. instead of twitching your finger and feeling the cold carcass of a metal body twitch in response, you feel valves open, liquids flow, pressures stabilise. The hundreds of tiny human, cyborg or other bodies within you that you can never pin down but always show up on your readings, through oxygen consumption, weight distribution. your body is a solid metal chunk designed to be used and lived in
(and yes the transport doll is still a soldier, she's just not a frontliner)
