Look for something positive in each day, even if some days you have to look a little harder.

Sometimes you just need to cry and be sad. You need to break down and be torn apart. You need to learn how to pick yourself up and put yourself back together. Sometimes, the only way to be happy is to give into sadness first.

Jobs fill your pocket. Adventures fill your soul.

Everything you’re currently angry about is stopping you from being happy. Let go of the anger!

In the most basic sense, if you’re alive today, you’ve started over. You woke up! You’re still breathing! Maybe you’re consciously thankful for the gift of life. Maybe you don’t think in those terms at all. But, if you’ve ever been very ill or close to death…and you got well - you may be thankful to be alive and able to start over. Starting over is sometimes a choice, and sometimes a necessity. You may decide to go into a different line of work than what you’ve been doing - just because you want to - you choose to. But if you lose your job, you have to find a new one. You have to start over, out of necessity. If you ever lost a loved one or a friend, for whatever reason - either through death or on account of a break-up…you know it can be excruciatingly painful. You know how difficult it can be to start over - to get accustomed to living with the new reality of their absence. It may take a week, it may take a month, it may take a year. In fact, it may even be that you NEVER fully recover. But, hopefully, you will be able to. The memory of the loved one who died will stay with you and often will give you strength and hope and comfort. And maybe today - on this very day - you just might meet that someone you’ll eventually fall deeply in love with, and they’ll feel the same way about you as you do about them! And you’ll live happily ever after! It’s truly my wish for you.

Explain your anger, don’t express it, and you will immediately open the door to solutions instead of arguments

It’s so nice when someone remembers every detail about you. Not because you keep reminding them, but because they pay attention to you.

First I got to meet you. And I liked it. Then I got to take walks with you. And I liked it. I got to kiss you. And I liked it. Then I got to spend a night with you. And I liked it. Finally, I got to hold your hand. And I liked it. And in all this time I got to know you. And that, of all, I liked the most.

“The moment where the stars align, and everything falls into place, where nothing can shake how perfect that moment is, is the moment giving all of us purpose.”

I never realised how important pain was. How without pain, there would be no joy. I went through life just wanting whatever pain I felt to end. But now I realise, I have to revel in it. Be thankful for it. But never let it win.
