Hi! Will there be any exchanges any time soon?
hi!! as of right now, i don't have any exchanges planned. however, i was considering some kind of fall themed open event, which i would reblog marvel xreader fic written for any characters during the month of october (obviously for fics that have some kind of fall theme/topic), and people would be able to write new works to be signal boosted or tag me in some of their old ones to get them recirculating. if this is something people would be interested in i'd love to know so i can start planning it :)
due to a surprise technical issue with the secret santa generator and the fact that we didn’t quite make the threshold to run the first swap, i have decided to instead put together a list of the fics that were submitted, so people can still read them and give the authors some love!!

You don't need to do both characters in the swap if you don't write for both right? And will there be other character options in the future?
hi! yes, you can choose to only swap for one character if you only write for one character, that's totally fine!!
and as for your second question, i am hopeful that there will be other rounds of the swap, but i will say that if this first round does not run i will likely be hesitant to try again. i came up with this as a way to try and help writers who are feeling hopeless about reblogs and comments currently, so i'd love to do another round (for either steve & natasha or loki & natasha) if people are interested.
right now there are 4 signed up to swap for bucky and 2 signed up to swap for wanda (the threshold to run a character's swap is 8), so if you're interested, please consider it!!

Marvel xReader Fic Swap - Round 1 Sign Up
Have you ever wanted to find things to read but struggled to find something in the tags? Do you want to get some more eyes on your own works? Then this is the event for you!!
What it is:
The fic swap works by matching participants up using a secret santa generator, and then each person will read, reblog, and comment on one other person’s fic, and in return someone else will read, reblog, and comment on one of theirs! It’s a low stress and simple event where we can spotlight some of the works we’ve already written and spread some joy to other authors and readers!
Each round will have two smaller swaps, one for a male character and one for a female character. You can choose to swap for both characters (then you’re reading two fics and getting two comments) or just swap for one. This round’s characters are Bucky Barnes and Wanda Maximoff.
To sign up, you’ll need at least one SFW oneshot that is between 1k and 6k words. You can submit two fics upon signing up (this way your person can choose which one they want to read) and one of them can be NSFW if you’d like, but for those that don’t read smut, I ask that at least one work be SFW.
The threshold for each character’s swap to be run is eight participants. If one character makes that number and the other doesn’t, only the one character’s swap will be run. If a swap doesn’t run, I’ll make a post seeing if participants want to either extend the sign up time, or just call it off. I am adding the participant threshold because honestly? it’s way more fun for everyone with more people involved, and hopefully people will bring their friends and mutuals. There is no limit to how many people can participate.
How to Sign Up:
Fill out this google form and reblog this sign up post to the blog you’re going to participate with (while likes are appreciated, I want to keep track of everyone and follow you from the event blog, so a reblog makes things a lot easier)
Sign ups will end on July 6th, 2022 at 9 PM EDT. After that, you should get two emails: one from a secret santa generator with your person’s name, and one from [email protected] with the guidelines and a list of everyone’s fics. I will be using a different secret santa generator than I have in the past, but it’s still easy to use.
After you get your person, you have one week to read and comment on one of the fics they have provided. For this round, that should be done by July 14, 2022. When you reblog, tag this blog in your post so I can mark you down.
After that, I’ll make a list of all the fics reblogged to try and get some more eyes on them, and then the round will be over!

for the fic swap, if you're doing it, will each round be a different character? and how many fics do you yourself need to join?
Hi! I plan on at least doing one round to see if it goes anywhere, but ideally each round will have two characters: one man and one woman. For the first round, I have pretty much decided on Bucky Barnes and Wanda Maximoff. You don't need to do both to participate, as there will be two concurrent secret santa lists, but you can do both if you want to/write for both characters, you would just be reading two fics instead of one (a fic for each character), and you would get at least two comments instead of one.
To answer your second question, you need at least one SFW oneshot that is under 6k words to join. You can submit up to two fics during sign ups, and one can be NSFW if you want, but if you're just starting out and you don't have too much of a masterlist yet than one fic will be just fine if it meets those requirements. I am requiring at least one non-smut fic per character because the matching is totally random, and I myself don't read smut, so I would never want to put myself or others like me in a situation where they have to make themselves uncomfortable in order to participate in the event.

there will be no official fic exchange this summer, but i had this idea and i was wondering if people were interested!
basically, it would be a secret santa-like event, but for reading and reblogging fics you’ve already written! every few weeks i would choose a character and have a form where people would submit their name a few fics of theirs they have already written and want to spotlight for that particular character. then, i would use a secret santa generator to scramble everyone around, and then once you found out your person, you basically have one week to read and reblog one of their fics for that character, along with leaving a comment (or reading it and kudoing/commenting on ao3). there would also probably be a 6k or 7k word count max as well, this way one person isn’t reading way too much compared to others.
it might be something a little more low-key than having to write a whole new fic for an exchange, but would still be a way to get people to find new writers and reblog fics they may not have found! if this is something people would be interested, please let me know!! it is not that hard to set up and run, and it wouldn’t require a lot on the participant side either :)
