INTRODUCCI脫N:"Oye mi canto"
Plaza San Mart铆n, Retiro, Buenos Aires.
Esa tarde se encontr贸 a s铆 misma sola y rota.
English:
The cool shade of the giant rubber tree in Plaza San Mart铆n represented for young Paloma not only a relief from the hot summer days but also a refuge from the world she was accustomed to fleeing.
Sitting beneath the leafy canopy and wrapped in the warmth of the tree's thick arms, she added her final brushstrokes to the portrait of a little girl who watched from afar, in the sandpit.
Perhaps a reflection of the pale trace of her innocence lost due to an atrocious event in her early childhood...
Paloma rested the canvas on the temporary seat provided by the base of the fence surrounding the famous rubber tree and prepared to dry her brushes, then pack them in a backpack and leave. Walking along the long path lined with golden lanterns that would take her toward the station, she remembered Nicol谩s.
A street artist like her, with whom she had had a relationship and who had abandoned her to try her luck in other lands. That afternoon, she found herself alone and broken. But there was no loneliness that music couldn't heal, so she put on her headphones and immediately an Arjona song came on.
Su compa帽era, Laura, not贸 su presencia.
"Que tal te fue en Retiro?"_le pregunt贸.
"Mal..."
"No vendiste nada?"

Paloma arrived at the Art School's Drawing and Painting classroom around seven-fifteen.
She apologized for being late; everyone was already seated at their easels.
She walked quietly toward hers. She opened her modest canvas backpack and took out her paintbrushes.
Her classmate, Laura, noticed her presence. "How was Retiro?" she asked.
"Bad"
"Didn't you sell anything?" "Yeah, it's not that. I miss Nico, I feel lonely..."
"Nothing Ricardo (Arjona) can't fix..." Paloma smiled faintly. Then she put her headphones in her ear.
"Pinche calor"_murmur贸.
Cuando sali贸, alguien lo llam贸.
"Disculpe, Se帽or"_respondi贸 Diego.
"No lo har茅 se帽or."
"Entonces m谩s d铆as disponibles".
"Lo intentar茅"._prometi贸 el director. "Ahora, retirese...y no alborote a las damas"
Ingl茅s:
"Meanwhile, outside the school, there was a completely different atmosphere.
Some students were leaving their classes and heading towards the bus stop around the corner from the classic and majestic building.
Others were entering to take the last hour of the schedules offered by the institute.
For his part, Diego was finishing his rowing team's training.
"Alright, alright!" he exclaimed, clapping his hands. "That's it, guys, showers!"
Then he took off his t-shirt and wet his head with water.
"Damn heat," he muttered.
Afterward, he entered through the main door, drawing the attention of some girls.
And finally, he went to the locker rooms to shower.
When he came out, someone called him.
"Hey, Mexican, the principal wants to see you," said an employee who worked there.
The athletic young man headed towards Mr. L贸pez's office, who was going up the stairs in the hall.
"Mr. Bonavena, this isn't a bodybuilding parade for you to be walking around shirtless in the school."
"Sorry, sir," Diego replied.
"Furthermore, rowing is a very traditional sport for this place. Consider that in the past, it was practiced by the ladies of the Argentine aristocracy."
"Ladies? I wish I could train ladies..." the young athlete joked.
"Don't be funny, Bonavena. Remember that you're here thanks to your uncle, a great contributor to this institution. Don't embarrass him."
"I won't, sir."
"How's the training going for the race?"
"I need more time. The guys are a bit affected by this heat..."
"There's no time."
"Then more available days."
"I'll try," the principal promised. "Now, leave...and don't stir up the ladies."
_le pregunt贸 Laura.
"Oye, yo no era el distra铆do aqu铆..."_se defendi贸 el j贸ven entrenador..
Diego se qued贸 mir谩ndola.
Ingl茅s
When Paloma finished her class at 8 o'clock, she hurriedly packed her brushes and ran out the door without fastening her backpack.
"Shall we get some coffee?" Laura asked.
"I don't have time. I have to get home early."
Then she walked quickly to the building's exit. On the way, she bumped into Diego, who had gone back to the locker room to get his gym bag. Paloma's brushes flew through the air and fell to the ground.
"Hey, what's wrong with you, kid?"
"What's wrong with you? You're not looking where you're going."
"Hey, I wasn't the distracted one here..." the young coach defended himself.
Paloma bent down to gather her brushes, making a face of boredom, and then stood up.
"Wait... I beg your pardon... how about a cup of coffee?"
"I'm running late," she excused herself.
She turned around and disappeared into the crowd. Diego stared at her.
