Polyglot Neil

Languages. Books. Thinking you’ll go insane every time you remember it’s impossible for you to know and speak every language. Reading about Neil eavesdropping on conversations in German and French turned you on. You pissed yourself in excitement when Neil revealed he spoke German to Monsters. You translate Russian and Portugese AFTG tweets because you’re noisy and insane. Don’t lose your Duolingo streak! (Have you thought about learning Russian because Neil and Andrew are also learning it, or have you thought about learning French because Jean and Kevin speak it?? Don’t lie to me this is a safe space)

can’t wait to find out how many out of pocket shit about the aftg world we never found out because of neil’s one track mind. maybe waymack grew a mohawk at some point during the season (neil didn’t even notice), maybe aaron and nicky are famous at eden’s for their breakdancing (why would neil care about anything aaron does on his free time), maybe the exy banquets had a karaoke hour (the foxes were too busy fighting the ravens for neil to notice) maybe the baseball team had another mafia related drama going on at the same time (neil hates baseball so he never finds out) maybe the vixens were the same level of unhinged as the foxes and had some deep beef with another cheerleader squad (unfortunately neil himself has beef with all cheerleaders for whatever happened with the millport squad). so many possibilities, so much space for new lore.

I think the reason aftg took up residence in my brain and refuses to be dislodged by some other series that is instead of having the typical perfect unrelatable cardboard cut outs of people who have one (1) character flaw gets resolved at the end of the book, aftg gives us a bunch of deeply flawed people who make terrible choices but who we can agree deserve love anyways. And their flaws didn't just go away! even though they had personal growth, they stayed lowkey assholes with problematic actions instead of having all their issues unrealisticly vanish at the end, and I love them for it
