the funniest parts of aftg are Andrew unapologetically playing favourites because he's always trying so hard not to care but his only moral is "Kevin and Neil can do whatever they want without any consequences and if anyone tries to impose consequences on them they have to get through me first" while no one except Kevin and Neil themselves wants to get through him

Kevin day who even when he's the first option knows he's never the best option. Kevin Day who lets people use him as they learn to love each other and themselves until he has no use anymore and lets them go even as they rip parts of himself away when they leave. Kevin day who is always the first choice and never the last.

I can only imagine the things Andrew said to Neil after they played the ravens again. Andrew fucking Minyard who practically dragged Wymack across the court to throw the chick who was going after neil into a ONE ARMED CHOKEHOLD while he was sporting a BROKEN COLLARBONE. I know he did not let neil go without telling him at least once that he should’ve just killed him in the beginning to save everyone else the trouble. More so to save himself the trouble of ever having to feel this level of fear again.

I know he had Jean’s “next time someone takes a swing at him you and your brisket lungs will have to watch him die” on repeat in his head as he saw neil crumpled in a ball on the floor.

i have deep admiration for jeremy knox because he has mommy issues, daddy issues, stepdad issues, grandpa issues, sibling issues, ex boyfriend issues, law student issues… and instead of driving straight into a cliff, he dyes his hair blonde and fucks around with pretty boys!!

Neil is a terrible loner, and it’s not something he can just switch off the moment he starts sharing his space with Andrew. not that Andrew is overly controlling or anything, but there’s still that quiet, persistent fear in him whenever he realizes Neil isn’t there. was he taken again? did something happen? Is he even alive? but in Neil’s mind, it’s simple. too simple.

he’ll just go out for a run without saying a word if he sees Andrew’s busy. he’ll text, “I’ll be back around nine,” and then show up closer to eleven, carrying a bag from the store like nothing happened. “I got distracted,” he’ll say. and it doesn’t matter that, in the meantime, Andrew has already started mentally listing which morgues he’d have to check. Neil doesn’t mean to make him anxious. he just doesn’t see the point in updating him, because, in his head, I’m still coming back, so what does it matter when? until Andrew finally spells it out for him. “I can’t read your mind. If your plans change—text me. Call me. Just let me know you’re going to be late.” and it hits Neil like he’s just been told something completely foreign. something that shouldn’t need explaining. and yet does. but he gets it. eventually. because after everything they’ve been through, all he really wants is to know that Neil is okay, and that his absence doesn’t mean something has gone wrong.

Just like "man, I thought that weird intense thing they had going on was them hooking-up, and honestly, the fact that they weren't together when Neil stuck Andrew's hands up his shirt as a goodbye is even weirder"

You think after the Nest collapsed that the Foxes realised just how fucking close they got to losing Kevin completely?

Every day they watch as a new headline comes out of a Raven player being found dead or trying to end their lives because they couldn’t handle leaving the Nest.

And mind you they were only there for a couple of years while Kevin grew up there glued to Riko’s side and having to build himself up all over again.

Jean’s also in a bad place but at the very least has people who were warned and could get help and tips from Kevin on what to do.

But Kevin was the trial run. For once in his life he was first and he had to figure this all out while trying not to destroy himself from the inside out.

Kevin lost everything when he left and there’s no doubt in his mind that he was ever supposed to succeed. He didn’t have someone to drag his battered body out of the Nest he drove himself out of hell itself with a broken hand.

The fact he’s here is a miracle in itself and I can just imagine Neil recalling Wymack’s “if we lose the game against the Ravens, Kevin won’t survive” speech and realising how true that sentiment was.

Also goes to show just how well Kevin is at hiding in plain sight.

The more you think about how blatantly obvious Andrew was with his attraction to Neil since the beginning of the series, the funnier it gets. He made Neil take off his contacts for the club for the love of the game. Dude went 'I want to see your Reallll eyes' and Neil was like 'it's because he likes truthful thingssss guysssss!!' and it was dismissed just like that. And what's funnier is the fact that he wasn't even completely wrong. That Is a part of the reason why. But you'd think he'd go "I wonder why he likes staring at my bright blue eyes so much??" but he just... doesn't question it. They're so silly. The absolute sillies.
