I made a chronological story playlist for Greta and Carson’s love story on A League of Their Own, if you’d like a soundtrack to listen to while you relive it in your head!

I started out just putting a few songs that reminded me of them into a playlist for a road trip, but then I remembered how much I used to love making mix tapes and got it into my head that I should try to capture their whole story chronologically in song. I also had a few restrictions in mind that made it more of a challenge.

First off, one of the things I love so much about the show is that all of the queerness is right there on the surface with no need to read it in, so any songs where you’d have to substitute “she” for “he” in your mind to make it work were out. All of them had to be in the first or second person, or a girl singing about a girl. Second, I wasn’t willing to pick a song that I didn’t like just because the lyrics were right. It actually became a bit like a poetry writing exercise (maybe more like fridge poetry, since I wasn’t actually writing any of the words) and I got totally sucked into the creative challenge.

I only started connecting with folks on social media recently, so I’d really appreciate any reblogs and please pass it on to any Greta/Carson fans or anyone you think would just enjoy matching up details in the show with the songs!

As I grow older I feel my capacity to understand that Miss Piggy is not a real person reached a peak in my adolescence and is now on a steady decline. I watched a Wendy Williams interview and there's this part that's like "can we get a ring cam!" and Miss Piggy shows her bling and I'm just like fuck she's so iconic. Miss Piggy who are you wearing? Miss Piggy have you ever considered running for office??
