Baseball Prose is back! Hallelujah; I love it so
The season has begun and I'm back to posting original prose, poetic musings, and the occasional photo gallery about my beloved baseball! Stop on by Ol' Abner and say hello!
Oscar Taveras column
I wrote this column about Cardinal outfielder Oscar Taveras shortly after he died in an automobile accident. It was published in the Springfield (MO) News-Leader in November 2014.
Jerry Lumpe tribute column Springfield (MO) News-Leader
One of my favorite people was Jerry Lumpe, a former major league baseball player and my third cousin. He used to play ball with his young cousins on a field named after him. I wrote this column to commemorate him in April 2015.
Publication - One Mind
I was recently published in the One Mind newsletter. The organization supports people affected by traumatic brain injuries. In December 2013 I sustained a concussion and dealt with symptoms for two years. I shared my story in hopes of helping others feel less alone.
Published in Wired magazine
Big news: I recently had a piece included in a Wired magazine article about sexual harassment in the workplace.

It's Curtains
I took this in March of 2012. while working at a lodge in Bettles, Alaska, pop. 12. The cabins make up the town.

Mt Cook Metal Print
I took this photo at Mt Cook, a trip I'd given myself after turning 27. I had been backpacking solo around New Zealand since September.
I've been printing on metal for my recent exhibits and love how it makes images pop. Specs: 1/16" aluminum, float mount. Ready to hang on any household nail or tack.
Want it in a different size? Drop me a line: [email protected].

Kayaking Metal Print
I took this from the seat of a kayak as I paddled around Tikchik Lake, a habit I followed several days a week.
I've been printing on metal for my recent exhibits and really love the how it enhances the shadows in each print.

One show is coming down, another is going up ... look for my tent on the square during First Friday Art Walk on April 1!
Fireweed Metal Print
I took this photo while living in a remote fishing lodge just northwest of Anchorage. I spent four summers there tending to cabins, lodge, and guests.
When I could I snuck away to the river bank to study flowers and look for eagles. The fireweed emerged in August, and it's said that once it blooms winter is six weeks away.
