February 1st was Hourly Comics Day! Fittingly I was tabling at a comic con that day -- one of my favorite Bay Area comic cons, Lumacon! Even if Lumacon WASN'T just a cool five minute drive from my house, I'd still love it ... I feel like this is the show where people really wanna talk comics, and I love that! Of course my hourlies seem grumpy af, but I promise I was having a good time!

I created a comic about plant husbandry and femininity for Vermont’s Seven Days periodical. It ran in September, and it was such a joy to see it in print! Here it is as it appeared in the magazine. I’m also selling it as a micro-mini broken up into individual panels if you catch me at a con! :)

Hey, it’s the first ten pages of my mini-thesis from the Center for Cartoon Studies! It’s called Get Over It, and it’s about a food delivery cyclist who winds up battling monsters born out of emotional trauma. I like to think of it as Street Fighter: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. 

I’ll update this post with a link later to the physical copy, which has an additional 2 pages.

Lil preview of the ~*~2 new comics~*~ I’ll be selling at MoCCA this weekend, April 1st and 2nd! Image #1 is the first page from is x/2+7, a timeless tale about why you should maybe date people your own age? And image #2 is a few panels from Incompatible, an autobio about dating through the zodiac that I will otherwise absolutely never be posting on the Internet hahahahahahahaha

Did a mural in the green room of Shea Stadium last weekend. The band names will be missed, but hopefully this will give bands some sense of zen between sets?

Edit: this morning, Shea announced they’re temporarily closing their doors. Please keep your eye on their Facebook page in case any opportunities pop up for support -- Brooklyn and music in general need spaces like this.

Edit 2: Shea has a Kickstarter going to make themselves an official venue! Keep giving ‘em money ‘till the end of time.

Today you can finally listen to Vagabon’s Infinite Worlds anywhere you want -- which is great, because this kind of audio therapy needs to be universally available. There’s also a release show tonight at Baby’s if you’re in Brooklyn; if you can’t make it out, at least read Laetitia’s interview here.

March second kicks off Vagabon’s tour; one of the best aspect of doing tour posters for Laetitia (of which I’ve been lucky enough to do a few) is the complete trust she grants me to do whatever I want artistically. In this case, it was a rendering of the interior of St. John the Divine.

Imitated 1950s Dell Comics for a second semester project at CCS! Used this as an opportunity to spoof some “urban bike community” stuff a little bit. I did the pencils and the colors for this one, classmate and MVP of Productivity Whiteley Foster did the inks!

As of September 1st, I’m officially a graduate student at the Center for Cartoon Studies! It’s been a big life change for me, from steadily-employed-publishing-professional-in-urban-New-York to intensely-focused-art-student-in-rural-Vermont. My family's been an enormous help through every aspect of the transition, I’m really lucky as hell.

Above is my application comic for the Center for Cartoon Studies, which had to involve myself, a piece of fruit, a robot, and a snowman. I drew it from December 2015 - March 2016, DANG that seems like eons ago! Since Tumblr’s got a page limit and this one is 20 pages, you can read the rest here! One day I’ll get the time to color it ...

This one goes out to my sister, who was always much cooler than me and tolerated my little sister antics. (Sorry about all the flawlessly sneaky bunny ears I executed in countless family photos. >:])
