Because on a surface level, it does seem thematically interesting. You could talk about vampires forever looking the age that they died, aging, and the natural fetishization of aging an immortal being might have and how that might present, especially in a character like Armand etc etc etc. But also, there are people who want to fuck Daniel Molloy right now.

Like actual normal aged mortal humans. Most of them are significantly younger than 72 year old actor Eric Bogosian. Like ok you can't really argue that Armand wanting to fuck that old man is weird when a large chunk of people came out of IWTV thinking "I want to fuck that old man"

Bad Bunny’s super bowl performance was a beautiful display of community, culture, and love. The outcry about it not being “American” are not only xenophobic, but factually false. Puerto Rico is an American territory, therefore is a part of the United States. Benito’s performance highlighted lots of really beautiful parts of latino culture, like the nail shops and food carts and backyard parties. The spectacle of the wedding emphasizing the importance of community. The folks working in the sugar cane fields not only shining a light on an industry that still keeps the islands running but also the dark history of slavery and sugar cane in the Caribbean. He fell through the ceiling into a white family’s living room, a visual representation of what his performance really was—forcing marginalized communities to be seen by those who choose to turn a blind eye. The workers on the light poles and how the stadium lights kept flickering—the United States can not run without immigrants. Without them we wouldn’t even be able to keep our lights on. And when he gave the grammy to the little boy watching him on the screen, saying “this is for you,” was the brightest moment of the show for me. Representation matters—seeing someone that looks like you on the screen, especially during a time like this, is something that can save a kid. Representation matters. Representation matters so much, especially to marginalized communities. Perhaps the most powerful moment was when he said “God bless America” then listed off every single country in North and South America. I don’t know a lick of spanish but understood the message. The whole show was about community, hard work, freedom, and love—what’s more American than that?
