hello! my name is mars! i've been on this platform for several years now, and, now that i am repurposing my blog, i figured i would make an introduction to who i am and what i want to use this blog for.
basics about me:
my name is mars! i am currently a nursing major based in new york city, and i aim to specialize in pediatrics. later in my career, i'd like to work as an educator.
outside of the classroom:
i've been doing more around my school regarding representation and advocacy. i've researched the effects of representation in media and the long term effects of supportive communities, especially for marginalized individuals. this research is a buildup of about two years. while i still have a lot to learn, i want to make representation commonplace--in healthcare, classrooms, and beyond.
this isn't a long term, committed goal of mine. this is something i'm passionate about, but i don't plan on 100% committing or prioritizing this over my nursing career. but it's something that i'd like to keep in the back of my mind when treating patients or educating students.
free time:
when i'm not studying, i indulge in a lot of hobbies and fandoms. some of you might know me for my voltron fanfics (and i still am very active in that part of my life!). i draw, crochet, paint, and generally just doing arts and crafts.
fandoms:
i'm listing my fandoms for a couple different reasons: one, i like giving people things to talk to me about other than work. and two, a good chunk of my braindumps will be about these.

i want this blog to be my braindump central--all of my ideas, my theories, my questions--all in one place, and accessible for people to read and give input. corrections, criticisms, educational sources, personal experiences--all are welcome here!
