This is a tourney to see who is the Indisputable And Inarguaby Definitely For Real best pair of characters to see together. Could be because they're especially comedic, affectionate, antagonistic, familial or just because they make a part of your brain go brrr. They just worked That Well together. Or maybe they had That Much untapped potential and you'll die mad about them not getting more time together. Regardless let's celebrate some of the dynamic duos that we love!
The number one voted Best Duo at the 4077th is the original clowns, the canonically named Piercintyre: Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John McIntyre!
Second Place:
Sweet side characters managed to secure a solid second place despite going up against characters with a lot more screentime! Sometimes it's the support cast that really makes or breaks a show and MASH's support cast is unparalleled. Max Klinger and Father Mulcahy take a silver win!
Third Place:
And finally, whether through the paternal bond or the fact that dear Henry would crash and burn without Radar, Colonel Blake and Radar O'Reilly secured third out of whole host of strong contenders!
Thanks for joining everyone, it was a lot of fun! If there's interest in playing again maybe we can reconvene for a Squad Battle

"It’s about a wacky space alien toppling metaphors for Margret Thatcher across time and space, what’s not to love?!?"
"Doctor Who is everything. It's crazy, creepy, scary, funny, happy, sad, past, present, and future. There's something for everyone in Doctor Who."
"It’s the best, it’s my favorite, and damn, David Tennant is one hell of a hot Doctor and he and Billie Piper as Rose were the reason I joined tumblr in the first place!"
"dont yall DARE forget your tumblr roots and let Doctor Who lose"
"Doctor Wio was tumblr before tumblr existed, and it will outlast all of us."
"the best show from superwholock cannot lose"

Just because it’s set in a war zone does not make it pro war in fact the exact opposite. the show is explicitly anti-war"
"Over triple the seasons than there actually were in the war, everyone in this show is some degree of goofy, it's the OG found family, it has a snobby British guy who eventually becomes part of the hijinks and everyone's mental health takes a hit at some point. Commercials for the finale were sold at the equivalent of like a million dollars today."
"Until 2010 it was the most watched television broadcast in America. Also Hawkeye and Margaret should have gotten together and been the best enemies to lovers and that's my only critique"
"Consider: a medieval court jester but he’s actually a surgeon in the Korean War and he gets up to hijinks"
"Lasted longer than the war it was about"
"Funny but also serious. And fatalistic humor that should appeal just as much to a current audience as to the original audience."
"One character is psychic and it's never explained, and a handful of them are queer (the whole cast is if you're that wild)"
"(none of them are actually openly queer (it was the 70s playing the 50s) but it's very easy to read them that way if you want to)"

"war isn't hell. in hell there are no innocent bystanders."
"The main characters very badly want the war to end, although they aren't able to influence it much. In one episode Hawkeye resorts to giving an officer with high casualty rates a needless appendectomy in an attempt to save soldiers' lives, and in an earlier episode he and Trapper convince another such officer that he's losing touch with reality in order to get him away from command."
"Hawkeye canonically jokes stuff like "tell your Aunt Hawkeye and Uncle Trapper" and "You'll have to get me pregnant first"? and yeah he's also an antiwar jester #bicon"
"MASH holds us a lot better than you'd expect it to especially the later seasons"
"MASH is a fantastic antiwar comedy that came out at the perfect time and perfectly blends humor with the fucked-up situation of the war. it addressed a ton of serious issues that very few shows were addressing properly - breakthrough story with a gay soldier! a lot of anti-racism and anti-xenophobia that obviously isn't perfect but still does very well for what it is! blatantly opposing war and war propaganda!"
"if mash is an option itll always win in my heart"
"MASH series finale is the most watched television event in US history that wasn’t sports or 9/11."

Clifford:
Beaten so far: The Great, Obi-Wan Kenobi
"Please watch the old version (the one shown here) and then watch the Puppy Days spinoff and the new version and realize just how much better than either of those the old version was (though even Puppy Days is better than the new Clifford. It just lacks the ability to put characters in the unique and fun situations that come with a gigantic dog. Well, and the characters aren't as likable or memorable). The art, characters, and stories felt very loyal to the source material while also expanding on and adding to the world from the books. This was one of my favorite shows growing up (can't tell you how often I thought about how cool it would be to have a dog who could act as a school bus, or whose doghouse you could hold the community picnic in when it rains), and as I said about Arthur, I would gladly still watch and enjoy the old Clifford if it were still on (sadly, they aren't even playing reruns of it anymore)"

vs
Charlotte (Falsettos)
They are the turning point of the musical (just act 2, but still) Great character as well, and is part of the few lesbians in musical theatre! Also, in the 2016 broadway revival, she was played by Tracie Thoms, who played Joanne in Rent!

"Henry Does His Best. His best isn't great but he does it! He's just a good guy!"

Behavioural Analysis Unit: Spencer Reid, Derek Morgan, Jennifer Jareau, Aaron Hotchner, Emily Prentiss, Penelope Garcia, David Rossi (& Jason Gideon)

MASH team:
they're surviving hell together and just barely keeping each other sane
Behavioural Analysis Unit:
I haven't finished Criminal Minds (which is reflected in who I consider part of the family). But I love the team as family so much. Them all hanging out at the end of an episode, is my favourite thing. When they're all hanging out at Rossi's drinking wine... I love them so much. Each character has different dynamics with each other character as well.

Congrats to Colonel Blake and Radar O'Reilly winning third place! I'm so glad these two placed, I picked them as the icon for this blog for a reason, they are such an iconic duo
Hawkeye and Radar are brothers!!! They mean everything to me! Radar always goes to Hawkeye when he has a problem and Hawk always tries to help him in the best possible ways!
3.18 when hawk was on “house arrest” and Radar got new shoes to make him taller, and Hawkeye gave that great speech about how some guys (Radar) is taller than his physical height “some guys are ten feet tall, only their bodies don’t know it”
Hot take but Fallen Idol is a great Hawkeye and Radar episode! It makes me cry because underneath all of the yelling and anger they feel toward each other, hawkeye wasn’t comfortable with the thought that Radar looked up to him because he didn’t want Radar to end up like him.
Mail call 3 when Radar gets a letter from his mom about a guy she’s seeing and who does Radar go to for advice? Hawkeye! And Hawk tells Radar about what happened to Daniel (hawk’s dad) after his mom died
7.03, where Potter becomes friendly with a visiting colonel and Radar doesn’t like it because he thinks the two are getting too friendly with each other. Radar goes to Hawkeye!! The only person in the camp who really understands him!
Goodbye Radar when Radar leaves his teddy bear on Hawk’s bed instead of taking the stuffed animal back home with him
11.15 when Hawk put Radar’s teddy bear in the time capsule with Henry’s fishing hook
I don’t have an episode for this one, but there’s a scene where Radar comments how he thought Hawkeye was doing a good job fighting against the war. And he goes on to explain to Potter how he means the war against the war and how strong and unbreakable Hawkeye seems at any given moment.
I just have a lot of feelings about Hawk and Radar and if they don’t win I might lose it because they both deserved so much better and I can guarantee that if Radar was there during GFA, he would’ve been so concerned seeing his hero, the person he considered as be a brother, broken by what happened on the bus
HAWKEYE AND RADAR ??? SHOILD BE WINNING ??? I CRY EVERY SINGLE TIME RADAR LEAVES HAWK HIS TEDDY BEAR
their dynamic is so sweet T^T right from season one they have a consistently wonderful relationship, lots of affection, lots of heckling, and LOTS of mutual scheming, and it stays great for radar's whole run
