Hawkeye pulls back the covers of his operating table to see a nine year old girl laying there, multiple gunshot wounds. "fuck.." he whispers breathlessly. He lets out a heavy breath and his shaky legs give out, forcing him to take a step backward. He stares down at the girl for a moment, his face filled with grief and pain. He tries to give the little kid an apologetic look despite his tired eyes starting to well up with tears. His voice cracks out

"she's just a baby"

we watch henry's plane fly away in abyssinia henry all the same. it's a happy bittersweet moment.

then all the sudden you hear gunshots, and all we see if henry's face, full of regret and fear and knowing that he is going to die.

Losing my fucking mind: was walking through Boston Commons. Saw a guy with a MASH hat sitting in the grass with his bike so I said “hey I like your hat!” and I show him my BJ and Hawkeye stickers and my “let’s vaccinate Radar” tattoo.

Dude hits me with “oh yea my grandpa wrote the show” BROTHER WHAT!!!!! I literally say “You’re fucking kidding me LARRY GELBART?? WAS YOUR GRANDPA???” he’s like “yea this hat is from him! I’m a Gelbart!” Absolutely floored. Stunned.

Watching M*A*S*H for the first time and the themes really do be theming. What do you mean Trapper’s writing a letter to his daughter about how they patch up soldiers but “They don't ever seem to stop coming.” What do you mean he writes “I’d like to be able to tell you when I’m coming home” and the record next to him starts to skip. What do you mean it repeats the same little warped bit of what once might have been music, over and over and over in a twisted display of its intended purpose, caught in a meaningless loop what do you MEAN

I love Larry Linville's acting. He took a character who's a terrible person that the audience is meant to hate and played him so that you're never angry that he has screen time. I never think 'ugh, Frank is in this episode.' He even manages to make him seem sympathetic on the rare occasion. Maybe it's because he always loses to Hawkeye, but I'm always impressed because in my mind it's a lot harder to play daffy duck than it is to play bugs bunny.
