just a quick post because im pretty proud of this, gonna spoil it now that jenkins will be the next spotlighter 🎊🎊 the lobcorp artstyle is really fun to do, down to trying to nail the awfully leggy anatomy, so i quite like this one

fun fact: one of the sketches for jenkins' sprite had them crossing their arms like yesod, at first i didn't notice but when i did it made me think of that being something they subconsciously do because they like to bother yesod too and they thought netzach liked him at first /hj

PEQUOD STEWARDESS - NERINA DUPUIS

this post is coming in two parts in order for me to properly lore dump about her. that's intimidating i know. it is fearsome to me especially

Nerina Dupuis || 🧜‍♀️ | The Pequod Stewardess Affiliation: The Pequod (Formerly), Zwei Association South Section 6 (After the collapse of the Pequod) Gender: Female Age: 27 Height: ~174cm (5'9") Particulars: Shut-in, conspiracy theorist, clings easily

formerly an ordinary u corp resident living with her parents, a tragedy at 13 aboard a ship in the great lake had her body mangled by mermaids, leaving her to wash up alone on the shore. after a few fleeting years in an orphanage, she spent the rest of her years as an absolute hermit, drowned in her theories about the horrors lying in the great lake, brewing up her own idea of a monstrous, greedy society of mermaids based on her singular experience with them. she would decide to force herself out of her deathly fear of the lake - as well as to prove her theories right or wrong - by boarding the pequod, quickly being swept under the wing of its captain, who was all too good to be true.

nerina was my favorite lore-wise to write, because 1. i love ahab 2. i love miserable characters 3. i was able to give her relationship with ahab many confusing, complicated sides 4. i also gave her numerous deep symbolisms (most of which were written with the assistance of a friend)

she's the oc i have the most to say about, so strap on in

her birthday is july 20, the drop date of dinosaurchestra! in extension, her source song is Deep In The Ocean, and partially The Ocean from view-monster, but that's more on her relationship with ahab

she is, like amnesia and mercer, french, and the most comfortable speaking in french. not quite around ahab, but definitely with ishmael

she was initially an oc x canon with ahab, and she still is! but post pequod, i wrote her to fall in love with ishmael for character development reasons - she's always been extremely dependent on the people around her, having spent all her time on the pequod around ahab, so even with her wanting to start a life of her own after being saved, she can't help but fall back into habit by falling in love with ishmael, it's just that she knows how to regulate herself better

the pocketwatch in her breast pocket is actually EXTREMELY significant to her lore - as the song goes, she indeed had a family heirloom wristwatch that never stopped turning, but it was lost and devoured by mermaids on that fateful day, and she doesn't know if it stopped ticking. as an adult, she bought the pocketwatch to try and fill the hole left by the wristwatch. it wasn't magical, but it meant something to her - the wristwatch she owned as a child was like her heart, vibrant and given by her family, but it was swallowed and destroyed. in its place came the pocket watch, *like* the wrist watch, but hollow, detached, and bought by herself for her own comfort. in the end, ahab managed to twist it even further, like she twisted her heart - in the pocket watch was a small image of ahab (how did she acquire it?) - effectively filling her heart with nothing but that wickedness - before it was tossed carelessly into the ocean in the name of violent whims.

she survives the pequod being swallowed by the whale, where she becomes even more dependent on ahab's approval, but she manages to beg the lcb to take her out with them, which is the only reason she survives

her being the stewardess honestly just came from me wanting an excuse for my character to be close to the captain, i did NOT know there was an actual steward that would appear more than once in the book, but they're pretty similar in behavior anyways

on nerina's relationships on the pequod:

it's slightly outdated, because here's my new input on her relationship with starbuck:

it's MY PERSONAL HEADCANON that starbuck HAD feelings for ahab in the past, inspired by the alleged homosexual undertones between him and ahab in the book, BUT he got over them before nerina boarded. which is why, when he sees nerina acting the way she does around ahab, he feels a piercing sense of kinship and familiarity with her, knowing that he backed out sooner than she ever could, and she could get hurt if she doesn't. he's not as close to nerina as she is to ishmael, but she considers him a trustworthy, if not uncomfortably kind man (because she's not used to kindness *or* men). starbuck treats her like he would any other crewmate, with warmth and respect, but because of the similarities that both of them come to notice, they tend to reach out to each other sometimes when those difficult feelings about ahab resurface. the simple way to put it, is that he doesn't want her to end up like him/worse than him, and she wants to stop feeling jealous of how close he is to ahab even just as her first mate, as well as understanding why she likes ahab like this

i think i have a lot to say about her so i might just post my pre-existing arts of her one at a time and comment on them there. that is why there is no relevant art section for her!!! her lore matters 2 much to me for me to water down for this, if you really want to see some more, like her other designs or facts, some are on her artfight

in the end, mercer was supposed to confess anyway, but hindley, having already dragged mercer into his room and gotten the proximity he asked for, couldn't force himself to wait any longer and beat him to it

the point in their relationship in which netzach finally has to come to terms with the fact that yes, he likes jenkins as much as they like him. and the thought of them is overwhelming

im actually really proud of this one for once honestly, and i love netkins so it works out. i think i drew them so cute and the dynamic between them is my favorite

this is all i got for his icon </3 ill only be making vellmori style icons for my sinners, and storylog portraits for the nonsinners

an ordinary man from a small town around the lip of district 20, he fled home after a chain reaction of distortions that turned his home into "marketland", a mockery of a capitalist hell full of bodily horrors. after forcing his way through acquiring a fixer license and doing mundane jobs for a few years, he wormed his way into the wuthering heights manor to seek employment and an easy home, lasting long enough to butt heads with josephine and be assigned the grueling task of watching over and following hindley around.

it's sort of a gag and now a canonical trait of his character that he has nice, feminine hips because i forgot that men don't usually have those while i was drawing references for him. i thought it looked good on him

mercer is actually a total slob and constantly running on low energy, the only reason he tries to be polite and refined (which, even then, is a very shoddy effort) is because of his job. his patience is incredibly thin, especially around josephine and it's essentially gone with hindley, who he doesn't care if he sees the uncouth side of him, because hindley is like that x100

regarding his relationships in the manor, he really couldn't care less about the other butlers, he's neutral about nelly because she's nicer than josephine, i think we can all guess what he thinks of josephine and what she thinks of him, he wasn't awfully close with catherine and never took a chance to get close before she passed, he pretty much never saw heathcliff in the manor, only catching a glimpse of him during the lcb's visit to the manor

his relationship with hindley deserves its own bullet point, because the way i see it, it was all Belligerent Sexual Tension that neither acknowledged ever since mercer was forced into hindley's vicinity. at some point down the line hindley just gets impatient and, with no confession whatsoever since he's too proud for that, he essentially starts treating mercer like his boyfriend and little plaything. funnily enough, at such a point in their relationship, mercer had already been planning to confess

aside from heathcliff's brief lament on his death, mercer was the only one to consistently mourn hindley's death after the lcb's visit.

he has a small apartment somewhere in district 20 that he visits on day-offs, he's actually kind of dirt poor and very frugal. he literally has like one black coat and one only that i draw him in a lot

since i have so many new ocs, i figure this is the best way to do it, to give them spotlight posts about all the art i've amassed of them over my inactivity after i've given them final sprites!

Amnesia || 🧠 | Sinner #802 Weapon: Two bonesaws, one serrated and one with exaggerated, jagged serrations [Amour et Blessures] Affiliation: ■■■■■ District Medical Center, Limbus Company Color: Absent Rose Gender: Female Age: 27 Height: 176cm Canto: 'The Irreparable' Particulars: Has a wandering mind, clinical inclinations E.G.O.: "#!@ Hand in Mine"

a surgeon from district [currently undecided], with a definite fascination for the human body and what can be done to it with the city's technology. after a horrifically botched surgery on one of her loved ones, turning them into an utter abomination, she couldn't be let off the hook for it, and had her memories forcibly scraped by a malicious syndicate (as well as a couple organs for the cash). she joined the lcb in hopes of, of course, "waking up with her mind repaired", but she also wished to find "patient zero" and make sure nothing happens to them or the city.

my favorite and most significant fact: this is already pretty known on my page but she's an oc x canon/yumeship with rodion!!! it started with an au of rodion in the place of hindley and amnesia as a simple butler, but i decided i wanted more for her and made her into a full sinner. she's still shipped with rodion and i love them very much, but i want her to have her own thing too, because her character has been fun to write

mercer bad end

mercer is a butler in the main verse, not a sinner but he still has a story as if he was one, so here's his essentially bad end id, where he doesn't run from marketland, the distorted hellhole that used to be his home. same goes for amnesia and nerina, but i haven't gotten around to designing theirs, just concepted them ;p

mercer became 'c.o.o. of marketland' essentially by chance and by force, he made himself lay low instead of exposing himself to danger, letting marketland's residents kill each other off and eliminating threats that could attack him directly. at the end of it all he lasted long enough for the so called 'c.e.o.' to hunt him down directly and force him into the vacant spot of c.o.o., which would grant him a sort of safety, but he'd also be utterly trapped in that can of worms, so really, how safe is he?
