While Agent 3 may have thought this would be another day of the same work she always does for the Squidbeak Splatoon, the poor squid would come to find out rather soon that today would be anything but normal.
After she entered the next stage kettle she had to retrieve a Zapfish from, she would be confronted rather quickly with a sight that could be either terrifying or exciting depending on who you ask. The area's many floating platforms shook and trembled beneath repeated heavy crashes, and the source of these disturbances was almost immediately made abundantly clear.
This stage was populated by Rival-style Octolings. This would be rather standard fare most of the time, had it not been for the fact that the ones Agent 3 encountered today were utterly ENORMOUS. Each was so unbelievably fat that they were easily comparable to the size of an entire house, with the few that sported black hair and kelp being even larger. Despite this, however, they were all somehow still able to move...?
It might be in anybody's best interest at a time like this to try not to get spotted, unless you're into battling things that could easily flatten you.
Stop thinking about rollers, you know what I meant.

Seeing this, Agent 3 couldn't help but stare from where she was standing at her Spawn Point, her jaw dropping wide open as she almost lost her grip on her Hero Shot. Though given the redder than ruby blush on her face, she could tell she was enjoying the sight of those wobbling masses that were the Octoling enemies. But she can enjoy the sight later! With how big those Octolings were, they probably had to be pretty slow... And given her own speed, Three thought it would be easy to run past those Octolings and get to the Zapfish before they even knew what hit them! Plus, the Octolings looked like they were just a little too big to splat without something like an Inkstrike anyway...
So without even the slightest bit of thinking, the rookie agent literally booked it right for the Zapfish.
And unfortunately, just like the Elite had with her Octoshot, Agent 3 eventually ran out of ink in her own ink tank. Sure, ink tanks slowly regenerate their ink without needing to dive into it, but that was going to take FOREVER and a half! And Three didn't want to wait that long... Good thing there was one rule that she was taught by both Captain Cuttlefish and Agents 1 and 2 when she first joined the New Squidbeak Splatoon: An agent needed to be ready for any situation. Which meant having multiple Special Cans with every single currently known Special at their disposal just in case. So after sifting through her person, Three eventually pulled out and opened up an Inkzooka Special Can; Taking careful aim at the Elite's face and firing one shot after another right at at her! The recoil of each shot did send her back an inch or two, but the end result is gonna be so worth the recoil~
The Elite panicked as she watched Agent 3 retrieve the Inkzooka, and that panic only grew stronger when it was aimed directly at her. Once the agent began firing, however, was when the fun truly began.
Each shot from it caused her to nearly double in weight, leaving her entirely immobilized rather quickly. Her gargantuan belly groaned and gurgled loudly with every shot fired off and every burst of growth it endured, and by the looks of things, Agent 3 had completely lost herself in the act of fattening the octoling, so it seemed like she was in for quite a ride.
Though just like every other Special, the Inkzooka does have a limit before it can no longer be fired. A time limit to be specific. Just as long as Agent 3 doesn't do anything... Wait, what was she doing? Why was she smacking the back of her Hero Headset? Wait a second...
Oh... Carp...
The back of her Hero Headset was where her Special Limiter was, and she broke it on purpose... And with that broken... As soon as the timer ran out for the first Inkzooka, Agent 3 able to whip out a SECOND one and start firing away once again! She was going to be able to use unlimited Specials now!
This was met with instant panic from our poor octoling friend, but alas, she was powerless to do anything about it. Her eyes scanned the area for any possible means of escape, but all she saw was the sky, her own jiggling body, and the face of the agent who was about to make her even bigger.
The other two Octolings who'd been immobilized prior looked up at the Elite, in a mixture of fear and very slight envy. While they were of course terrified by the prospect of being completely flattened beneath the expanding mass of their teammate, they also couldn't help but feel slightly jealous that she was about to be made that big to begin with.

"OH CARP!"
Letting her newly gained agent instincts and years of Turf War take over, Agent 3 quickly jumped off of and took cover in the nearest spot that wasn't being covered up by the shadow. Though considering how BIG the shadow's source was, that was unfortunately much easier said than done. Luckily, it was possible for her to find proper cover before the shadow's source came crashing down...
Barely, but still possible
And soon enough, the source of this became entirely apparent. The ground quaked as the individual who cast the shadow landed. She was larger than any other Octoling that Agent 3 had encountered so far. Her hair was a deep black and adorned with two strands of flowing kelp. She glared down at the squid with a look that screamed both confidence and malice, though this went entirely unappreciated by the inkling, as her eyes were hidden beneath her metal goggles.
"Looks like somebody's trying to steal our Zapfish away." She muttered, giggling. "Trust me, punk. You may have bounced past my teammates here..." She said, looking Agent 3 right in the eyes. "...but against me? You're dead meat."
Agent 3 found herself face to... fat... with an Elite Octoling.
The fact that an Elite of HER SIZE could Super Jump over to her now immobilized comrades... Maybe the agent should’ve kept fattening one of the two of them up so she could have a chance at trying to get on top of the Elite and immobilizing her as well. Nowhere to go if she tried to get behind the enemy, no place to escape... But she wasn’t going to let that stop her! She’s faced worse situations in the short amount of time she’s been part of the New Squidbeak Splatoon!
“Blah blah blah, I can’t even hear you, Octo Mountain Mass.” Agent 3 cockily replied. “Just because you have the ability to Super Jump doesn’t mean you can catch me. And yeah, I might not be able to climb up you... Yet... But I can sure as shell outrun you~ CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, OCTO MASS!”
And with that challenge placed down, Three began running in the opposite direction of the Elite Octoling. If she could dodge out of the way of this woman’s Super Jump, then outrunning her should be a piece of cake as long as she wasn’t cornered... Right?
The Elite, predictably, gave chase. She wouldn't let this little nuisance escape from her, so she ran after Agent 3 as quickly as she could. She was actually surprisingly fast for somebody of her size, so it was clear that she was not only larger, but also shockingly more agile than the other Octolings. Of course, being "fast" was relative when compared to the others, as it was hard to get any real speed at that size, but she was still somehow catching up to Three. Unfortunately for the agent, there was only so far back she could go before reaching the Spawn Point, and from there her options were limited to either allowing herself plummet off the stage, or somehow find a way around the Elite.
"End of the line, punk."
Oh carp, there really was nowhere to go this time! One direction was death, the other direction was getting splat by the stomach of the Elite. The only thing that stood between the two of them was the protective shielding that all Spawn Points come equipped with, even those in the Octo Valley Octarian Lairs. Wait a second... The Spawn Point! Yes, this may be an Octarian Lair, but thinking back to Turf Wars, the players in Turf War were allowed to Super Jump back to their Spawn Point at any time. And if the Spawn Point here worked the same way, which it more than likely did...
“Guess again, Octo Mass~” Agent 3 replied with a sly grin, turning to Squid and Super Jumping to the Spawn Point behind her.
Though instead of landing on the Spawn Point itself, Three adjusted the angle of which she was going to land and...
BOING!
Landed on the Elite Octoling, bouncing on her like a trampoline much like the two enemy Octolings from before when they cornered her. Though this time around, she didn’t have a second one to ‘wall jump’ off of. So instead, using the force of her landing onto the Elite Octoling, she propelled herself HIGH into the air and managed to just BARELY land onto the top of the Elite’s stomach!
“Now, what was that about it being the end of the line for this, as you said, punk?”
The Elite clearly wasn't going down without a fight, as she immediately whipped out her Octoshot and fired it off at Agent 3. Her aim was actually far better than that of her colleagues, as multiple shots actually hit their marks. However, this was very clearly a move of desperation, as she didn't exactly have many other ideas in mind short of tossing a Splat Bomb, which wasn't likely to be enjoyable for either of them.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you?" She muttered, a very clear air of agression and frustration to her voice as she continued pelting the inkling with purple ink.
Sure, the Elite managed to nick her a few times with her Octoshot, but most of her shots outright missed due to the fact that Agent 3 was literally bouncing around on top of the Elite Octoling!
"Quitting isn't exactly a word in my vocabulary." Agent 3 cockily spoke, avoiding another couple of shots from the Elite's Octoshot as she returned fire while the Elite was speaking. "Besides, if I can beat that lame-o DJ leader of yours, beating Octolings like you is a bit of a cake walk! Well, he isn't exactly a lame-o, since his DJing is pretty fresh! I might've actually enjoyed his music if he wasn't trying to kill me and steal the Zapfish like your little immobilized group did."
"Would- Would you cut that out already?!" The Elite shouted as Agent 3 continued bouncing on her. "I'm not your trampoline, quit it!" She was visibly blushing as she said this, so it was very clear that the squid was getting under her skin. Her Octoshot then began clicking as its rate of fire slowed to a stop. The ink tank on her back let out a pathetic beep. She'd run out of ink, and was now completely helpless to stop the agent.
"Uh oh."
This was her chance! With the Elite being the size she was, despite the fact she could Super Jump, it must take plenty of effort to go from Octoling to Octopus and back again. So with that in mind and without any sort of hesitation, Agent 3 rushed forward and kicked the Octoshot out of the Elite's hands and high into the sky; Once again using the Elite as a trampoline to jump up and snatch the Octoshot out of the air before landing back down. With the Elite's Octoshot in one hand and her Hero Shot in the other, the rookie agent stashed away the Octoshot before aiming the Hero Shot at the other's face and firing away. Time to see how long it'll take before this Octoling opens her mouth and ends up like her comrades~
Of course, being who she was, she immediately attempted to open her mouth and say something cocky, but this only led to her meeting the same fate as her peers. The ink being fired into her mouth caused her body to bloat and fatten even further, but surprisingly, she managed to keep her mobility, and showed no signs that it was wavering. It was clear that she could - quite literally - hold her weight, and that she'd take a lot more work to immobilize.
While Agent 3 may have thought this would be another day of the same work she always does for the Squidbeak Splatoon, the poor squid would come to find out rather soon that today would be anything but normal.

This would prove to be one of the worst mistakes she could have made, as one of the Rivals quickly spotted her. "There's the little brat!" She shouted, signaling the attention of her peers. Two of them stood side by side, entirely blocking off the poor agent's path. They then began to slowly waddle towards her, each heaving step causing their flab to bounce and jiggle. The main plan here - though Agent 3 could probably have guessed - was for them to get close enough, then lift and subsequently drop their enormous bellies right on top of her, instantly splatting her and sending her back to the spawn point. Whether or not they'd succeed in this endeavor, though, was entirely up to 3's own agility.
Oh carp, this was bad... Or at least, it would have been bad in the eyes of someone a bit more serious. For Agent 3 however, a little grin formed on her face as she waited for the two Octolings to get closer and closer before she rushed towards one of them and...
BOING!
Using her momentum to her advantage, Agent 3 jumped up, planted her feet onto the Octoling's stomach and used her as a trampoline; Doing the same as she was bounced towards the other Octoling and repeating this process akin to if someone was wall jumping! And this process was completed all until she was on top of the stomach of one of the two enemy Octolings attempting to squish her.
"You know, I though those base Octotroopers were slow, but you Octolings certainly take the cake! And from the looks of you all, you'd probably eat it too plus way more~" Agent 3 teased.
"Y- Hey, how can she-?!" The one on the left sputtered out as Agent 3 effortlessly leapt up onto her body. As soon as the squid makes that remark about her though, her anger only seems to get worse. She quickly draws her Octoshot and fires off a few shots at the agent. Unfortunately, she doesn't really have the best accuracy since moving her arms is difficult on account of how fat they are. The other simply watched on in a mixture of spite and disappointment.
However, there was somebody else watching as well. Watching from a distance, and waiting for a chance to strike. Now was not that time, but it would come soon enough.
And unfortunately due to the Octoling's lack of proper aiming, it was easy for Agent 3 to get closer and closer until she snatched the Octoshot right out of the massive enemy's hand; Looking it over before letting out a chuckle.
"Ya know, I always wanted to grab one of these since they seemed pretty fresh for Octarian versions of our fresh weapons back home. Doesn't feel as good as a classic Splattershot though." Agent 3 commented, stashing the Octoling's weapon away on her person before thinking aloud. "Now what to do with you... I know the second I get off you, you and your 'little' friend will stop chasing me and I've gotta prevent that from happening... Splatting you isn't an option because you're too big... Ah-ha! Now that I think about it, I've sometimes wondered if ink was edible during Turf Wars, despite enemy ink being able to splay us... How about we test that?"
No hesitation. Hero Shot in hand, Agent 3 began to fire a barrage of ink from her weapon right at the Octoling's face. With how bad her anger was, it was only a matter of time before that mouth was wiiiiide open~
Of course, anyone else would likely turn their head away when this happened, but that gets rather difficult when you have four chins, so unfortunately, our Octo-blob friend was forced to take every shot straight to the face. She tried her hardest to avoid opening her mouth, but eventually found herself far too enraged to keep quiet anymore. She let out a groan through clenched teeth before finally shouting, "WOULD YOU CUT THAT OU- HLMPH-!"
Unfortunately, her attempt at telling Agent 3 off was rather unsuccessful, and just as predicted, the ink from her Hero Shot began piling into the Octoling's mouth. Almost immediately as this began, her belly groaned and gurgled as she started getting even fatter, every drop of ink causing her already blubbery body to swell even further. It was only a matter of about thirty seconds before she ended up in the state she probably should have been in to begin with - complete immobility.
The second Octoling who attempted to block her path grew nervous watching this happen. She instinctively tucked her weapon away between two of her fat rolls, then began slowly and hesitantly backing away, praying that she didn't end up the next target. Of course, with how ground-shakingly heavy her footsteps were, it was pretty obvious what was happening, she wasn't the stealthiest at that size.
And while Agent 3 could continue fattening up the Octoling she was already on, she did have a mission to complete. So as soon as the first Octoling was immobilized, Agent 3 did the exact same trick as last time; Bouncing off the immobilized Octoling so she could land on top of the one trying to escape, doing a front flip before landing on top of the other.
"Hey Octo!" Agent 3 shot out, pulling out her Hero Shot yet again before firing it at this Octoling's face much like she did the other. "Don't move~"
The second Octoling seemed noticeably panicked as Agent 3 landed on her belly. This led to her letting out a gasp, which ultimately proved to be her fatal mistake, as it provided the perfect opening for the agent to start fattening her as well. And that she did, as this Octoling ended up meeting the same fate as her friend, leaving her completely immobilized under her own fat.
"Target locked." Quietly spoke the voice of the one watching from afar. Even if Agent 3 couldn't hear this voice, she could very clearly hear the sound of a super jump and see the absolutely gargantuan shadow rising up overhead.
Now might be a good time to take cover.
