Last week, @splashmadison and I were both in Wichita for U.S. Nationals. She as a coach, and I as a commentator. Amidst our busy schedules, we carved out a little time on Wednesday morning for a practice session and asked our friend Jordan to capture the moment for us. Sharing a work in progress always feels vulnerable. When I first watched this video, my instinct was to focus on the details—to see what could be refined, what we’ve already evolved beyond. That drive for precision is part of me and always will be. But stepping beyond competition has also shifted my perspective. I’m learning to see movement not just as something to perfect, but as something to experience—to create for its own sake. The joy is in the doing, the freedom in the expression.
