White Noise
In the future where everything is black and white, the world is technologically advanced but Music is history. When curious Wyla (Why-la) wanders into the supposed haunted mansion on their street, she is shocked to see a weird object. It’s covered by cob webs and dust, she touches the white keys and is in awe at the beautiful resonating sound. She glides her hands over all the keys and a delightful array of tones fill her ears, she did it again and jumped back as she saw her hands turn an odd color. She learned about colors in school. How they once filled the world. After a few seconds, her skin turned back to a dull grey.
She tells her best friend, Bach (Bak), about it and they set out to find more of these odd machines. But then, government steps in.
The continent is in a strict Dictatorship, hand-picked and closely monitored Dictators are bred. The government is strictly organized. Everyone followed rules. Everyone obeyed. The colors did not disappear because of evolution. The colors disappeared because the citizens are fed lies. Inside the government dome, is a huge machine. It emits a high frequency sound that blurs everyone’s brains. Washing them clean of independence. They must rely on the government. They cannot think normally.
Music is the key. Music can cancel out the noise. The government has made sure that there were no instruments left. All of them had been disposed of, or so they thought.
