FINAL PROJECT: HIIGTE? & AESTHETICS
Proto-internet, Dadaism, Glitch Art, Surrealism, Minimalism, Futurism, Conceptual Art, Site-specific, Performance, Land Art, Net Art & Terra-transforming genres.
I chose to work digitally because it allows me to work analogically, be more experimental with different kinds of mediums. In this project is important to pay attention to the physical space, but also a part of the piece is to watch other people performing the game that adds either performative or interactive values to my work.
I feel that by doing this project I am netting the physical and the virtual and the one who is experiencing the game is, in fact, a medium or a recipient.
Looking for a telephone’s number on the Yellow Pages is such a mundane thing to do, a very outdated task as all the information is uploaded on the net by a simple click. However, I’m using the Yellow Pages as a metaphor to highlight the importance of having tangible objects in the analogue world, apart from that, I would like to express the idea of the Yellow Pages as proto-internet; a lot of information perfectly arranged (folders) which, however, it doesn’t have any correlation or whatsoever. On the other hand, if you're looking for a specific bit of information, it does make sense. There are a lot of things I can talk about in this project from digital Land Art, the performative level of watching somebody performing the game, mysticism to spirituality. By presenting the project encapsulated in a mobile app is a way to frame it, it’s a way to create its own identity in the world either digital or physical. In the future the digital won’t be restricted to devices it will be an experience where we walk through the internet.

Is web browser replacing Art Galleries?
Digital object appreciated by its artistic value. We need to see what people can do to define aesthetics importance, digital aesthetics. We need to understand what people do on the digital world which tag, share and comment.
