New Description: While watching a video about default replacements for The Sims 4, I was so impressed—and honestly, a little jealous that we didn't have something like that for The Sims 3. So, one day I decided to try making it myself, and it worked! Plus, let's be real, that default yellow is just so ugly!

From the unforgivingly hot dunes of Al Simhara, to the lush and quiet countryside of Champs Les Sims, the famous photographer Henri Bissau brings stunning images that are sure to scratch your wanderlustful itch. This is a gift to all the wonderful people who’ve appreciated my creations :) I’m proud to present a series of photographs with a personal touch, from the three locations in WA: Champs Les Sims, Shang Simla, and Al Simhara.

10 images per location, all are screenshots taken by me.

The mesh is from UNI, but you don’t need the EP. You can also use them alongside that painting, as they don’t conflict.

Two versions: a cheap one ($50), and an expensive one ($200). Choose only one version of each package (e.g. you can have the cheap Al Simhara one and the expensive versions of the other two, but not the cheap and expensive versions of Al Simhara at the same time).

Can be found in Bedroom/Living/Dining/Study -> Wall Deco, and in Decor -> Wall Deco. They have an environment score of 5.

So you're super awesome at modding things and I was wondering if you could make a version of the buydebug daytime and ceiling lights to be in the regular buy catalog? I have a bug that causes my game to crash whenever i try to go into buydebug mode and I don't have my old discs to do a full uninstall/reinstall. :c Or if you know of one that already exists could you provide a link? Thank you, Anon! ;) Sorry to hear about your game acting up. Here is a default replacement recategorization of the buydebug lights, which will make them appear under Sort by Room \ Lighting \ Misc. I made some more modifications to them as well: they can’t be stolen and repossessed anymore, won’t burn, can be placed on slopes, and will stay after you move to another house!

I edited the ones that came with a patch, so you don’t need WA for them :)

Useful TS3 shortcuts you might not know about - quickly copy and recolor! (GIF)

• Hold Shift while dragging a palette to recolor the entire floor or wall

• Ever get frustrated copying objects with an eyedropper? Hold Shift and place the selected object to copy it without loading it! Works in both Build or Buy modes, can copy Debug objects with no codes ;)

• Hold Shift and drag fence or wall tool to create a room; hold Ctrl to remove the wall or fence

These shortcuts have saved me lots of time! I rarely use both sledgehammer and eyedropper :) By the way, the support team has said that my tumblr is finally unbanned! Whew, let's see!

I guess many of you don’t know it, but in 2011, when I still was learning how to use CAW, I started a huge project: a recreation of the city of Dubai. It was going well, but maybe it was too big for me so I lost the interest in continuing and I uploaded the files in case someone wanted to continue the project. Some time ago Ulises took the challenge: he has created many wonderful new buildings and has improved the city layout and many of the things I left. Today this world is finished so I’m proud and happy to share it with you.

welcome to finnington! famed for its nectar, its music scene, and a rich local history of things catching fire, blowing up, or singing when they shouldn't. half the wharf burned down once, but it's been rebuilt better than ever! the waterfall's alleged madness-inducing melody remains unconfirmed, and ever since a certain scientist's experiment leveled the old town, there's been a tree in the square that nobody wants to talk about. sure, one mayor held office for a suspiciously long time, but that's all behind us now. new residents arrive every day, chasing their dreams. there's never been a better time to move in!

this is a save file for armiel's beautiful finnington, which you can download here.

my version of finnington comes populated with every townie having their unique skills, jobs and relationships based on their personalities. there is also a little tomb puzzle that requires exploring the town a bit.

map size: medium populated?: yes required expansion packs and stuff packs: all expansion packs are required. this is a save file, not a world file, so the game won't open it if you're missing any EPs. no stuff packs are required. (i own outdoor living, high-end loft, fast lane, town life and master suite stuff, but the save should open fine without them.) included cc: awesims’s cornices jynx’s rabbithole rugs gosik & inge’s half landing cottage stairs not included cc: horusmenhosetix’s beetle eye contacts pixelswirl’s orchard skin blend defaults these are for the townies, but the save works fine without them, so they can be safely skipped.

this is a save file, so you'll need armiel's finnington world installed first. download it here. if you skip this step, the save file won’t work in your game.

once you download and unzip "finnington_xoelands", you'll see "Finnington_xoelands.sims3" and a "cc" folder inside

copy "Finnington_xoelands.sims3" to: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves

everything in the cc folder goes to: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages

i've been playtesting this save for a while. my game never lags unless i have the wild horse issue (explained under the cut). some slowness in the first few in-game hours of the day is normal, since that's when the game assigns NPCs and such. it usually clears up around the time the university mascot shows up at your door.

if you want to use this version of finnington in a pre-existing save file (for example in your legacy) with nraas traveler mod, simply follow these steps:

open the "Finnington_xoelands.sims3" folder and copy "Finnington_0x00000000.nhd"

go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves and open the .sims3 folder of the save you're currently playing

paste "Finnington_0x00000000.nhd" inside that folder (back up your save first, just in case!)

next time you’re going to travel somewhere in the game with the traveler mod, you should be able to visit this version of finnington!

recommended mods:

nraas master controller there’s not much to say about this one. i usually reset the town every 2-3 sim weeks for smoother gameplay.

nraas register i highly suggest preventing the game from spawning any stray/wild animals or tourists: city hall (or any computer) -> nraas -> register -> animal control -> set everything to 0. city hall (or any computer) -> nraas -> register -> tourists -> allow tourists -> false

nraas go here it’s better to disable boat routing all together just in case. city hall (or any computer) -> nraas -> go here -> allow boat routing -> false

additional entry and exit routing slots so your sims don't get stuck in front of the school building.

known issues and fixes

1- carpools and school buses can't reach the outer ring of old town finnington. this is a routing issue i can't fix without the caw file, but there's an easy workaround: nraas traffic makes sims take taxis instead, and taxis can route there. to set it up, go to city hall (or any computer) -> nraas -> traffic -> routing and set the last two options to true. to stop the game from spawning tons of empty taxis, also set city hall (or any computer) -> nraas -> traffic -> traffic delta to -1000 or -2000.

2- even with nraas register's animal control set to 0, the game still manages to spawn a wild horse from time to time. whenever my game starts lagging or stuttering, this one wild horse is always the culprit. luckily it's an easy fix: go to city hall (or any computer) -> nraas -> master controller -> sim -> focus -> species -> horse from there you can decide what to do with it. i usually go with force kill -> old age
