“You don’t look like just a person, though.” Stating the obvious, but Cassandra isn’t going to let it go by unmentioned. “So what’s the catch?”

                         “ the  catch  is just that i’m made of metal.  being made out of skin and squishy parts isn’t a prerequisite for being a person. ”  half the time they felt like they were trying to convince themselves as much as anyone else that humanity wasn’t based off of material,  but they tried not to think about that.

                           “ i’m from ...  basically,  a reflection of this world.  in a mirror. ”

That was an oddly specific question coming from the blond - it even made Karl lift both of his brows as the grey of his hues trailed over to meet Ethan’s own, a curious expression lingering on his tanned features once their gazes met. He was currently allowing a few cogs and metal pieces to hover in mid-air, just because it was awfully convenient for him to take whatever he needed this way, and he guessed that this was the reason why Ethan even thought of his question to begin with.

“Where do you think some of my scars come from? —Not all of them have been caused by that bitch Miranda…”

                     “ fair enough,  i guess. ”

                      ethan absentmindedly rubbed at his bandage hand where fingers were trying their damnedest to start growing back.  quick healing and a stubborn refusal to die could be a blessing,  he supposed.  he studied a couple of the scars on heisenberg’s face,  wondering which were miranda and which were just unfortunate factory accidents.

                        “ you know,  if you cleaned up a bit you wouldn’t have to deal with moving things around the room and hitting yourself in the face with a gear. ”  spoken in a  mostly  teasing tone.

                           stein sighs with an almost clinical sort of boredness,  closing the file he’d been holding and setting it down.  he was a little annoyed with death’s decision  --  he was perfectly capable of both teaching and taking care of the students’ medical needs  --  but with his track record,  he supposed he shouldn’t be surprised.

                           “ i use this space as my office as well.  let me know if you need help. ”

                          if it seemed like she was taking advantage,  well,  that was hardly the cat’s problem.  everything was a transaction;  that was how it had been for most of her existence,  and it wasn’t going to change anytime soon.

                         most passengers had the same reaction to them.  stop and stare.  for whatever reason,  people were more surprised by their appearance than by any of the talking animals around the train.  it was expected,  but still annoying.

                       “ do you ever worry about accidentally impaling yourself trying to move something across the room too fast? ”

                        it certainly  seemed  like a risk to ethan,  who had just barely managed to move out of the way of a knife in time,  but heisenberg must have decades of practice.  he walked up behind the lord,  trying to get a look at whatever piece of machinery he was tinkering with this time out of bored curiosity.

BOY HOWDY HELLO

i’m so sorry for my extended absence!  school and work ended up being a little bit too much for me to handle an rp blog on top of.  and on top of that,  i moved all the way across the country!  i drove 2,300 miles all by myself with my cat.  it was a lot LMAO

but i now have earned my associate’s degree and am getting settled into a new apartment with my boyfriend,  so i think i’m just about ready to be active here again!

tomorrow i will be cleaning out my drafts and looking to start some new threads,  so if you want to keep any of ours,  please let me know!

consider this a very late SEMI-HIATUS NOTICE. ill still be lurking occasionally and ill write when i can, but for the next few months my energy may be limited and it may be a hot second between when i can write.

got it back a day late but dude it runs like a whole new car.  the guy that was helping us (a friend of my mom’s) even got it cleaned for me.  holy shit.  i’m in awe.  i keep going to my backyard to look at it.

                          jill had been growing her hair out for a little while around the time of revelations,  but after the events of that game she decided that long hair was incredibly inconvenient and just not her style,  so she got it cut again very shortly.

sorry for not being around for a few days i’m starting school in like.  six days and have been stressed about that + whether i’ll have a vehicle back (my car broke down the literal day after i got my license) by the time of my first class.  so i’ve been spending my time trying to keep myself Less Anxious by hanging out with my boyfriend and consuming a Lot of resident evil content because it is Strangely Relaxing To Be Fucked Up By Zombies uhhh research for my muses

the GOOD news is i’ve made sure everything is logged in and properly set on my laptop that i use for school + travel and i have a 5 - hour gap between my classes that i’ll be spending just sitting around on campus so i’ll probably dedicate at least a little bit of that time (when i’m not doing homework) to getting things done here.  because being on campus always just makes me more productive for some reason.  must be the learning atmosphere or w/e

                         dropping by her false children’s homes unannounced was a frequent habit of miranda’s,  though it was more common for her to visit alcina or donna for how much more  habitable  she found the castle and the house.  the factory was too dirty,  too ...  low class  for her taste.  she approached the door with a slightly wrinkled nose,  knocked twice  --  more because she didn’t want to walk in on something than because she felt a need to be polite.
