Heartfelt Gala | Luna & Matthew
It wasn’t too often Luna got to trade in her scrubs for a gown. Hell, it never really happened, in fact. And even though she isn’t the most social butterfly she enjoyed dressing up. She spent a lot of her time giving what she could to charities in the first place, so this night didn’t feel that bad – especially because Matthew was the one who dragged her along. Of course she didn’t necessarily fit in – rich folks who talk only business and money. She was nowhere near their status, and frankly, it was both strange and exciting to see Matthew in his business-like attitude. He was a different person.
For the most part, she was amused by this, watching as a man droned on and on to Matthew about something or another. Luna made it a habit to not eavesdrop in other’s conversations. But, even then, her focus was more on trying to grab a glass of wine from one of the waiters offering it. Of course they kept passing her up and she stood there internally frustrated. Then the older man left and a laugh slipped from her lips. They seemed to be getting caught in these types of situations all night. Before she could even make a comment, she made eye contact with a waiter who seemed to be coming her way just as another couple snagged Matthew to chat. Whatever, at least I’ll get my wine, she thought. But then the word girlfriend came out and she soon felt his fingers tug at her own.
Her gaze broke from the waiter as she looked back at the couple like a deer caught in the headlights. It took her a moment to be able to snap on a smile, pretend to be his girlfriend for whatever reason. She secretly shot him a look, especially as he went on about how fond she was of him. Typical. Luckily, it didn’t last too long and they were walking away from the couple.
“Next time, warn me!” she said under her breath, “Seriously, I think you just did that for your ego. She’s crazy about me, thinks I’m great. Oh, c’mon. You wish.” She snickered.
“I didn’t know what was happening!” A large sigh escaped his lips as a waiter came up to them with a tray of drinks, Matthew took four in his hand and handed two of them to Luna. It had been a long time since he had been to gala – most of the time he made some excuse to ensure he didn’t have to make an appearance at these things. It was all politics and who would vote for what item on their list – that’s what these charity galas were to him. But his mother had been nagging him on how he must be more present as a director in hopes to push the Donovan name further. “I didn’t even want to come here…”
As he finished a glass of champagne, he placed the empty one on the table and took quite large gulp of the other. “Lovegood, believe me. I would love to have more of a Cho Chang, she’s a lot more bubbly.” With a shrug of his shoulders, he let out a large sigh and looked back towards the couple they were previously with. Those two had appeared in his life more times than he had wanted to spy on him and relay the information back to his mother. Spies, pfft. How annoying that the entitled felt that they needed to know everything. “They’re sharks, the two of them. They appear into my life, ask questions about what’s going on, and report back to my mother – the wicked witch of the east.” His gaze moved towards her and he met her eyes. “Don’t ever tell her I said that.”
Another sigh leaves his lips as he quickly finishes the second glass and places it next to the lonely glass on the table. “Okay, okay, okay.” Matthew took a step towards her and placed his hand on her cheek, his thumb gently grazing her cheek. “Luna Lovegood, will you be my girlfriend for all of four hours?” A small smile danced on his lips before it erupted into a large grin. “Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top? Also – Lovegood. Let’s be real. You are crazy about me and you do think I’m great. I look fetching in a suit, yes? I look wonderful, marvelous.” Matthew paused for a bit and his eyes moved down her gown and back up towards her. “And I guess you’re quite beautiful, too.”

Heartfelt Gala | Luna & Matthew
The man was droning on… and on and on. It was crazy how much the director was talking towards him about implementing state of art devices in their hospital so that they could have been something more than what they were. “Yes, right. That’s marvelous, Theo. But, please. I’m part of this hospital and I’ve already put in more funds. You should be talking to everyone else out there and not… here. Tell them that we are running this for cardiac disease and they don’t have a heart if they say no.” A light chuckle left his face as the man with a determined face marched away from them. “Thank god,” he whispered to his best friend, a coy smile on his face. “I thought he’d never leave.”
As another couple came up towards them, Matthew placed on his work-face and gave them a warm smile. “Mister and Missus Sanchez – I didn’t expect to see you here. It’s been a quite a long time… My mother has been telling me to get in touch with you.” Turning towards Luna, he gave her a wide smile and places his hand on hers. “This is my girlfriend, Luna Lo—Young.” Okay, he was going to get a beating for that… but these people were close to his mother and he had assured her that he had found a nice girl to settle down with. Never gave any names, but…
“Oh, yes, she’s a nurse. She’s crazy about me, thinks I’m great and I keep telling her – she should leave Lakewood’s hospital and join me here.” With a hearty chuckle, he nodded towards the two of them and turned towards his left. “Oh, yes, I’m sorry you two. Luna, my dear, wanted to… check out the gardens in the back. We will catch up to you two soon, yes?” Flashing his million-dollar smile, he winked at the two of them and turned away from them with Luna’s hand in his.
“Don’t kill me. I can explain! ... No, I can’t, Just, don’t kill me.”

Longbottom: Have you noticed I changed my name from 'Matt the Gr8" on your phone to Longbottom.
Longbottom: Why you must ask? Because.
Longbottom: He got SO HOT.
Longbottom: like me :)
Longbottom: Also hi, I miss you. I haven't seen you in like, a week.
Text: Adelina | Matthew
Adelina: Well, what if I want to try to do that with you. What if I want to try to spend the rest of my life with you? The thing is Matthew, is that I want to try this, and I don't want it to die before it even gets started.
Adelina: I don't know if I can be fixed either, but our baggage makes us real, and makes us humans. There is too much shit that has happened to me too, but I can help you try to live with that shit and be that person for you, if you will let me.
Adelina: I know you don't want me to hurt, than let this happen. Please...just give me one more shot, Matthew. Don't close yourself up.
Adelina: If I deserve the world, than can you give me a chance, Matt? You know that I don't open up like this to anyone, so this should mean something to you.
Matthew: ... I know you're right. We should give this a try, we've been trying. I care deeply about you and that's not something I give out easily... I just... I don't want things to change. What if it ends badly and we hate each other? Or you hate me? I can't hate you. I need you.
Matthew: You know I would love for you to be there with me. For me. As I am for you.
Matthew: Okay.
Matthew: Okay, Adelina... let's try.

Jayden: Slow down there on the drinking buddy. Don't want to have to take you to the hospital to get your stomach pumped.
Jayden: Eh, I'm good for not being in love right now. I can't go through that again.
Jayden: Eh, just got older. I'm still the same old guy that I was back in high school.
Jayden: If it happens it happens I'm not going to force it.
Jayden: Maybe..
Matthew: Stomach's been through much worse. It's crazy how much I can consume somtimes, Jayjaybear.
Matthew: If it comes knocking at your door, don't dismiss it buddy.
Matthew: Well, we would have really gotten along. And who knows, maybe you would've thought we were destined to be together lol
Matthew: It shouldn't be forced, should be natural...
Text: Adelina | Matthew
Adelina: You aren't getting my hopes up, I never get my hopes up. I have always been a realistic person. Everyone always leaves and you haven't left. Matthew, if you don't think that means something to me it does.
Adelina: I will help you, I have faith that you will get better. I will help you with that, I have...I have to get over someone...someone who left, and I was just starting something with. I have to realize that you are my stability.
Adelina: You may hurt me, but I want this. I want this Matthew. I have been hurt so many times before, that nothing you could do could hurt me.
Matthew: You should get your hopes up. You should be able to look at someone and hope that someday you'll be with them for the rest of your life. I don't know if I'm that for you, Adelina. I don't want to hurt you.
Matthew: I don't know if I can be fixed. There's too much shit that happened... I know I'm your stability. I want to be that for you and I glad I am.
Matthew: ... I hate that you've been hurt so many times. I hate that nothing could hurt you anymore. I don't *want* you to hurt, Adelina. I don't want you to hurt at all.
Matthew: You deserve the world.

Jayden: Thank you again. lol
Jayden: I didn't think I believed in it....until it happened to me with Angela.
Jayden: Because, she has never really been brought up in a conversation.
Jayden: I was happy....I was going to marry her before she threw herself down the stairs trying to kill both her and my daughter.
Jayden: I am trying. It is just really hard because she asks about Angela all of the time.
Jayden: I don't believe in love anymore. If it happens it happens.
Jayden: Thank you.
Jayden: I don't mind.
Matthew: Reading this made me sad :( Alcohol isn't good with deep talks man it isn't good
Matthew: But you should still believe in love. Love is important. And your love for her and her love for you was right for that time and maybe you two were destined to be together and you were soulmates.
Matthew: but things change, jayboo. i'm sure you're different now compared to high school days (boy would i love to meet him ;D)
Matthew: You've matured and grown and you deserve love in your life. Intimate love. And I'm really sorry you feel like you don't believe in love anymore but...
Matthew: I believe you'll find someone. It will happen.
Matthew: #lovewins
Text: Adelina | Matthew
Adelina: I think...I think I changed my mind and you aren't going to like this because of the talk we had the other day. And I know you aren't ready for commitment, and I sure as hell am not either, but I just...I want to keep trying this, Matt.
Matthew: woah, woah. What?
Matthew: Adelina... I don't want to get your hopes up. What if I'm never okay?
Matthew: I don't want to hurt you. At all. You're too special.
You blamed your brother for eating the donut, and now you walk out on your mission companion?! You’re a DICK!

As Adelina sat on the couch she checked her phone, scrolling through social media and texting people back who she had been meaning to text back earlier. Most people she had been trying to see if they were alright and not injured. It was good to know that most of the people were fine, and that they weren’t injured, but she couldn’t get out of her mind that Thomas was in the hospital injured. It hurt her and she flashed back to the moment that she saw him there coming in, her heart had stopped. Going through her facebook she saw a lot of about the storm, and rebuilding the areas that had been damaged, and then stupid memes that people were starting to make. There was nothing interested on it, and so when she heard Matthew’s voice her ears perked up. “It is the best proposal, and you can stay here as long as you want.” It sounded too inviting, too inviting for what she wanted in her life. She liked Matthew, but things were changing, she started going on dates more and there were feelings developing for Thomas there was this chemistry and not sexual tension that started out with them having sex first. Standing up she looked around and looked for chairs for them to sit on, but then noticed that he was sitting on the floor. The food looked amazing, and Adelina was so happy that he had made her food. They were leftovers but he thought about making food for her, and it made the world seem simpler that she could just stay on the couch. “Thank goodness, you know me well Matthew Donovan.” Taking a sip of it she let the alcohol run down her throat, he was good at making drinks, and it was a blessing. When he trailed off saying the storm, she didn’t know what he meant and then paused when he asked what they were. What were they? Adelina didn’t know what they were, she wasn’t stable in her life right now, and she was developing feelings for Thomas, but she needed Matthew in her life. He was her emotional tether. “I don’t know….I want you to be in my life Matthew…I don’t want you to be not in my life, but I can’t commit, I can’t do that, but I know that I need you in my life, I need you to not leave my life, because you are becoming my emotional tether.” Looking down and then back up at him she swallowed in, hoping that he didn’t want more, but she didn’t know.
Honestly, Matthew had been drinking the past few nights after his fight with Taryn. He didn’t know what to make of the situation and the only thing that brought him solace was alcohol (just like when she left). Leaning over to the coffee table, he plates her some food and moves it over to the couch to set on her lap. “I’m not over Taryn.” They were words he desperately needed to get out -- for himself and for whatever it was the two of them had. They had the chemistry that was needed in a relationship, but he felt himself always sailing back to what him and Taryn were supposed to be. “And I care deeply about you, Adelina... I truly do. I want you to be happy in every way possible.” Looking into his cup, his brows furrowed together and he let out a light air. “And I also can’t commit. And I do need you in my life. You’re special, Adelina. So, so, very special.” Blue eyes slowly rose and he turned himself to face her. “But I want you to know that I’m here for you. Anytime. Every single time. I am here whether you need someone to scream at, to cry onto, to lean against. I’m not leaving. I can’t leave because I truly, madly, deeply care about you.” Letting out a light chuckle, he gave her a faint smile. “Your mess is mine, your hurt is my hurt -- whatever is going on... I need you to know you can share with me. Be with me. I don’t want you to think I’m abandoning you, leaving you, or anything... But I need to figure my shit out. And I need you here, too.”

Jayden: I can see that.
Jayden: Yeah I really do.
Jayden: I probably could have. She was the most amazing girl in the world, until she became pregnant with Alyvia.
Matthew: well it's nice so ;)
Matthew: i never really believed in that. I always thought I could make my own destiny, but then when you find someone it seems right, huh?
Matthew: You never really mentioned her, just that she was Alyvia's mom.
Matthew: I'm sorry things ended that way but you were happy for some time, right? I'm happy you were happy then. And that Alyvia's in your life.
Matthew: idk man, i'm kind of drunk but I think you're an amazing father and you've done so fucking well. i don't know how you do it and i know it's a bit fucked up, but...
Matthew: I'm glad your first love was your first love because you are the person you are now.
Matthew: and i think you're magnificent and strong and amazing
Matthew: and im gonna stop spamming you now
Private Eye | Samantha & Matthew
When Matthew appeared by her side, the blonde smiled as she looked over at him. No matter what she was doing, he always made her smile even if she had to be serious in that moment. He was just amazing and made her relax whenever she was around him. And she could use him in her life right now, and she didn’t want to lose him. Hence why she had jumped whenever he called her. “Hey.” She blushed when she heard his compliment. “You are going to make me blush even the middle of all of this.” Putting her gun away for a moment, she took the towel and started to dry off a little bit. “Well I’m here because you need me. I’m not going anywhere.” She glanced into the kitchen and frowned. “If you want you can stay with me while it gets fixed.” The blonde offered, glancing back to him now with a small smile.
Listening to him, she shook her head. “No it doesn’t make you sound like some little kid.” She handed him back the towel, before she glanced at the stairs. Listening to him ramble, she couldn’t help but smile a little bit more. “You are rambling and its the most cutest thing ever.” She admitted, before nodding her head. “Yeah, I’ll go up there with you but I want you to stay behind me. I don’t want you to get hurt or anything.” Taking her weapon back up, she glanced over at him. “Its for safety. Just in case. Come on.” She said this as she started to move towards the upstairs.
“Charming a lovely lady is what I do best, Sam.” With a quick wink, he took a glance back up towards the second floor. There had be something there... right? Or maybe this storm was driving him crazy. “It’s nice to know you’re here, Sam. I really do appreciate it -- I know you’re crazy busy.” Surprised by her offer, a warm smile appeared on his lips. “You know what? I might take you up on that. My best friend did offer me his place for tonight, but I might find myself staying with you, Detective. Play a little house with your kiddo.”
He laughed and nodded his head -- Sam was understanding and wasn’t quick to call him on his little paranoia. As she handed him the towel, he started to follow her and quickly tossed the towel to the side. “I ramble when I’m nervous,” he said with a quiet laugh, wondering how she managed to make him feel calm at this moment. Brows raised slowly as she pulled out her gun again, a large grin on his face. Was it so bad that a badass woman made him extremely happy? “If I could just frame this moment with you holding your gun to protect me, I think I’d be pretty happy with life,” he joked lightly, some truth to his words.
As the reached the top of the stairs, he pointed towards the door at the end. “That was the door I heard close...” Oh wait, did he leave the window open? He could have done that... then the wind would have blown the door around. “... And just so you know, there’s probably nothing in there. I think the storm is making a little stir crazy,” he admitted quietly, scratching the back of his head.
