The easiest lie to sell is the one people already want to believe.

Jimmy tells the Kettlemans that they deserved a better lawyer.

[Jimmy]: “I have it on good authority that Craig here was not given proper counsel.”

[Betsy]: “We already knew that.”

[Jimmy]: “But did you ask yourselves why?”

[Craig]: “No.” *beat* “Why?”

[Jimmy]: “What if I told you that in your hour of need, the person who was supposed to be on your side was impaired?”

[Craig]: “Impaired?”

[Jimmy]: “A…’person of substance.’”

[Craig, not getting it]: “S..substance…”

[He looks at Betsy and they murmur a few words to each other, still confused. Jimmy rolls his eyes.]

[Jimmy]: “The substance in question being a certain illegal white powder.”

[A beat, and then Betsy suddenly understands]

[Betsy]: “That *awful woman* with the ponytail is a cocaine addict?”

[Jimmy]: “No, not Kim Wexler! No. Craig’s *lead* attorney. Howard Hamlin.”

Mike’s story hits different when you really think about it.

Before he became the calm, calculating man we know, Mike was a cop and a corrupt one. When his son Matt joined the force, Mike warned him that refusing bribes could make him look like a snitch… and that could get him k!lled.

Matt trusted his dad, took the money and was killed anyway, by the same corrupt cops Mike once worked with.

Years later, Mike breaks down:

"He had me on a pedestal, and I showed him that he was in the gutter like the others… I destroyed my boy."

That line explains so much why he tried to protect Nacho, why he looked out for Jesse, why he hated seeing young men throw their lives away. He was trying to save them from the same fate as his son.

Mike is quietly one of the most heartbreaking characters in the Breaking Bad universe.

One of the most underrated relationships in the Breaking Bad universe has to be between Mike Ehrmantraut and Saul Goodman (Jimmy McGill).

It’s not a friendship in the usual sense they’re never grabbing drinks or sharing heartfelt moments. But there’s something very real there.

Mike is quiet, precise, and all business. Saul is loud, slippery, and always working an angle. Early on, Mike can barely stand him he sees Saul as a shady, unreliable hustler. But over time (especially in Better Call Saul), they start leaning on each other more than either would ever admit.

Mike recognizes that Saul’s schemes actually work. Saul knows Mike is the one guy who always delivers, no drama, no mistakes.

What makes their dynamic so compelling is that unspoken respect. They’re both worn down by life in different ways, both carrying regrets they don’t talk about. They’re not friends… but they understand each other. And in their world, that kind of understanding is rare.

Two flawed men, navigating a broken system each seeing in the other a version of themselves they might’ve been, or maybe once were.🚬

The first time I watched Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman felt like pure chaos energy.

That smile? It hit different.

In Breaking Bad, Saul’s humor feels natural.

In Better Call Saul, you realize it’s armor.

Jimmy McGill isn’t careless he’s tired.

He isn’t fearless he’s running from himself.

Every joke, every loud suit, every goofy nickname is just him trying to cover the disappointment, the guilt, and that constant fear of never being “enough.”

By the time he fully becomes Saul Goodman, it’s not about power or greed.

It’s about survival.

Because being Jimmy hurt too much.

That’s why Better Call Saul hurts in the best way.

It doesn’t ruin Saul Goodman.

It makes you understand him.

you can literally track walter white’s guilt and transformation in the habits he picks up after every person he kills.

• crazy 8’s sandwiches → after strangling him, walt suddenly starts cutting the crusts off his sandwiches. just like crazy 8 did. almost like a subconscious confession.

• gus’s volvo → gus drove an old volvo to stay invisible. after killing him, walt ends up driving one too. it’s not just a car, it’s an inheritance of ghosts.

• mike’s drink → walt always ordered neat. then he kills mike and suddenly he’s drinking on the rocks. carrying his enemy’s ritual like a scar.

they never say it out loud. but these tiny shifts scream louder than words. it’s not just a show about crime—it’s about the way guilt crawls under your skin and never lets go. 🚬

I’ve been rewatching Breaking Bad, and I gotta say it again:

Skyler White did not deserve the hate she got.

She was one of the few people on that show who actually tried to do the right thing. While Walt was lying, building a drug empire, and putting his entire family in danger, Skyler was just trying to protect her kids and survive a situation she never asked for.

And yes — I know people bring up the whole “she cheated with Ted” thing. But let’s be real. By that point, Walt had already betrayed her in every way that mattered. He lied to her face, endangered their family, and dragged her into a criminal life. Skyler made one emotional, messy choice — and somehow that’s what made people turn on her?

It’s kind of wild that people could forgive Walt for poisoning a child... but not Skyler for having a human reaction to being gaslit and manipulated.

The truth is, Skyler stood up for herself. She set boundaries. She said “no” when something felt wrong. And that’s what really made people uncomfortable.

Anna Gunn portrayed her with so much depth, strength, and honesty — and the hate she got was never about Skyler being a bad person. It was about how we treat women who refuse to stay quiet.

She deserved better.

And so did Anna.

Being smart means recognizing that Jesse Pinkman and Jane Margolis from Breaking Bad weren't going to last at all if they made their "trip" to New Zealand happen. They were both very unstable and were about to regress with their addictions at any moment.

But it's nice to think they could have had something "nice and stable."
