Metal Gear Solid holds a special place in my heart. Just two weeks away from Phantom Pain!!!! Just wanted to share my small MGS collection. Enjoy!
It has been a busy month for me. I have not been able to post on here as much as I like. So let’s play a little catch up shall we? I have found some time to hit up a few of the local shops, and a convention or two and they have been quite fruitful. So lets try to cram in as much as possible into one little post. First up Bat-Man. Out of all my favorite super heroes Bat-Man was my first. Back in the late 80′s I got swept up in Bat-mania like all the other kids my age. I must have seen Tim Burton’s Bat-Film 5 times in the theater. That sparked a life time of comic book collecting, and a deep love for Super Heroes. First up we have the Dark Knight himself. This awesome action figure from DC Collectibles is based off of the Work of Jim Lee & The Books of Frank Miller. All Star Bat-Man sports a savage grin as he takes to the night to wage war on crime in Gotham. When I saw the expression on this guy I just had to have it. He evokes Year One Bat-Man to me. An amazing addition. Second we have this AMAZING Thrasher Suit Bat-Man also from DC Collectibles. As seen the the Court Of Owls/ Night of owls story arc from The New 52. The story was penned by Scott Snyder and The art was done by Greg Capullo. This figure is a designer figure based on Capullo’s work in the book. He is outstanding too, at ten inches this guy is a beast. So much detail on this piece it is insane, and with the removable helmet you can finally have a Bruce worth putting on the shelf. I really love this one. It is a top pick for fans in my book. GET THIS ONE!!! Third is the Artfx Bat-Man New 52 Justice League statue by kotobukiya. This guy is really neat and one of my most favorite bat-man pieces to date. His cape is long and flowing, His face is almost porcine like, and his costume has this metallic sheen that really pops. I love this costume so much. A great representation of a younger Bat-Man by artist Jim Lee from his amazing run on JL. One of my FAVORITE books of the last few years. Next up we give Marvel a little love........ This statue is one of my most favorite pieces in my collection, she is knock out gorgeous, and one of my most favorite X Women. Of course I am talking about this incredible Jubilee Bishoujo statue by kotobukiya. My eyes almost popped out when I saw her on display. Not only am I totally team Jubilee, but this statue is perfect, a great mix of anime ascetic and Marvel comics vibrancy, perfect for any X-men fan. This astonishing statue was designed by artist Shunya Yamashita! Treat yo self! Last but definitely not least is our favorite merc with a mouth, That’s right true believers, Wade Deadpool Wilson. This Kick ass Deadpool artfx statue is made by (you guessed it kotobukiya! And comes with a magnetized base Interchangeable hands & a sign with a dry erase marker so you can write any naughty thing you want on there. His sculpt is incredible, and I love his pose. He fits in nicely with all the other kotobukiya figures. Perfect!!!! Well guys it has been loads of fun catching up, but before I go I just want to thank you for following, and supporting this little blog. This is a passion project of mine, and I wish I had more time to post more, but I also have to have a real life to pay for this stuff. however there was one more thing I picked up recently. My very first Hot Toy. I will be doing a full review of that guy very soon. Anyways have a good night or a great day, and thanks for checking the post as always!!!
The legendary Battosai The Man Slayer. The man who brought hundreds of men to their death during the revolution. From the classic anime/ manga series is GEM Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) is this wonderful Megahouse statue of Himura Kenshin. This statue is gorgeous, and one of the jewels of my collection. His paint work is flawless, and his design captures the true essence of The Battosai. Those eyes that say you’re already dead, his kimono even the sword has a sheen to it. I love this figure. Probably one of the best anime figures I have ever seen Megahouse really knocks it out of the part with their productions. I picked this guy up at a shop while in Miami for about 100 usd, and he was worth every penny. As always thank you for checking my post, and have a great day. <3
Everyone’s favorite space Cowboy, Spike Spiegel has never looked better in Figure form. This amazing action figure from Play Arts Kai will satisfy any Bebop fan. I have a lot of Favorite Anime, but I hold Cowboy Bebop up as one of my favorite shows of all time regardless of genre. Many nights have been spent following the adventures of the Bebop crew in a coffee/smoke filled haze. Nothing quite like it before or since. This figure is one of my favorites, not just because it is Spike but because of the size. Pretty tall for an action figure, and he dominates my shelf as he deserves to. I picked this guy up from a comic shop in Miami called Villains for about 60 bucks. Money well spent. The sculpt is awesome, the paint is awesome and the articulations is also awesome. He comes with a few inter changeable hands and his trusty 45. A great and welcomed addition to the collection. As always thank you for checking the post, See you Space Cowboys....
For the first time I am happy to being you an American character made by Kotobukiya Is the New 52 Superman Artfx+ statue. Growing up I always loved the Man of Steel, and my first ever theater experience was watching Superman II as a child. He has always held a special place in my heart. I found this statue at a comic shop in Austin Tx, and he is pretty amazing. based on the artwork of Jim Lee. The detail, and the paint is nearly flawless. Great figure for any DC fan. As always thank you for checking my post, and have a great day.
Picked up this Revoltech Revy from a hobby shop in Seattle this week. If you are familiar with the Anime & maga serise you will know all about our favorite foul mouthed pirate of the South China Sea. Revoltech Revy is one of the very first Revoltech released, and honestly she is quite small. She fit’s in better with the revoltech mini line than the regular line. That being said I like her. I think her sculpt is dead on. He face expression is a little strange, but I just imagine she is calling someone a C***S****R. She comes with her standard pistols, a sub machine gun, and her elephant gun. Also she comes with a base for posing, and a exchangeable head with her hair down. She is very articulated, and you can pose her in a variety of ways. All, and all I like the figure. I managed to pick her up for a decent price used. I love Black lagoon so she is a welcome addition to the ever expanding collection. As always thanks for checking my post, and have a great weekend. <3
I am not just a fan of anime, I am also a huge fan of Chanbara or Samurai Films. In the 90′s we had a TON of anime done in this genre, Ninja Scroll, Blood Reign and one of my favorite Anime of all time Rurouni Kenshin, also known as Samurai X in the west. This Awesome Revoltech is based on the ova films Trust And Betrayal and parts of Samura-X the Movie. Representing when Kenshin was known as the Battousai, the famous assassin or man slayer as we came to know him here in the US. This Figure is pretty legendary it’s self. I will say revoltech figures are always hit or miss for me personally, but this one is great on par with figma as far as looks go for the most part. The paint app is great, the faces all look very clean and nice, he comes with different hands & katana for posing, And wow the poses!!!! You can get kenshin in a ton of neat positions. My favorite revoltech figure in my collection. I have always wanted a awesome edo style samurai in my collection, and Battousai Kenshin fits the bill perfectly. I am truly happy with him. He was another trade I made. His cuts are pretty noticeable, but the articulation more than makes up for it. If you are a fan of samurai fiction, or a Rurouni Kenshin fan pick this guy up, he is more than worth it. I do not know if I will get the regular Kenshin, I think i may pick up the figuarts zero eventually just to have both versions by different companies.
Side note: I am heading to Seattle this week for a expo, and will not be posting much, As Always thank you for checking my post, and have an amazing Sunday evening, and week. <3
Because I did not post anything for Waifu Wednesday I wanted to go ahead and post one now. Rei Ayanami is the hands down fan favorite from the classic Neon Genesis Evangelion series, and lets face it nothing quite gave us feels quite like Rei once we figured out what she really was. This Revoltechmini figure is pretty fantastic, and being a fan or 3&3/4 scale action figures from growing up in the 80′s I am glad a company is putting out anime figures in this scale. She comes with the lance of longinus and a small peg stand for posing, has some really decent articulation, and her sculpt is amazing for a figure of this scale. She runs about 20- 30 usd retail and is a must have for NGE fans. As always thank you for check out my post and happy belated WW everyone!!!!
Once again Tsundere Thursday & This week it is haruhi suzumiya her self. Imagine if you will living in a world where all creation steamed from the imagination of a first year high school student. Well that is the world in the classic anime/manga series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. This figma is one of the very first produced is still really great looking, and she came with quite a few accessories. Haruhi is the kind of girl that does not do well with boredom. This figma was sent to me by a fan after seeing the last MOHS figma I did a week or so ago, and I am more than happy to have her into the fold. She is totally adorable. I just hope I can think of enough ways to entertain her. She runs about 30-50 retail, but even cheaper if you can find a used one. Thank you Peter san for sending her my way. <3 as always thank you for checking out my post, and have a great evening or day whatever the case may be.
Here he is the King of Macedonia himself & his teenage Master Waver Velvet. Ryder & Waver were fan favorites in Fate/Zero & I am happy to show off these figures as they are the newest additions to my collection. Ryder is made by our friends at Megahouse and Waver is a Banpresto DX trading figure. They are scaled a little off, but I don’t mind. I love that Ryder towers over everyone else. I got both of these guys from a friend who runs a toy store in Japan. Ryder is a little pricey, he runs upwards of about a 100 usd, Waver goes for about 20 usd. Both are static, but Ryder does have different expressions. Fantastic additions to my ever growing collection. As always thank you for checking out my post, and have a great weekend everyone.
Last year I was sent this Figuarts Son-Goku, and If you know me you know my nostalgia love for Dragon Ball runs very deep. This was my show growing up, and the thing that got me into anime. I remember trading vhs tapes with other fans, and compiling our information about the show. This figure is boss, I mean really nice work by Tamashii on this guy. The articulation is solid, the faces are very diverse, and the sculpt is the best I have ever seen in a DBZ action figure. If you are a fan pick this guy up. He is going for about 45 USD retail. I really nice price in a world where 65 bucks is a good deal. As always thank you for checking out the post. <3
Banpresto Lancer From Fate Zero
Not much to say about this guy. Sometimes Banpresto sends me things, that is very nice of them. This guy is a great looking figure. He is however completely static. No worries however he is in a boss pose, and his spears look awesome. I added in saber for scale & because why not I love saber, have you seen the blog? <3
Revoltech Auska Langly From the classic Neon Genesis Evangelion
Over the weekend I received this Reveoltech Auska from a fan, and was asked to do a few shots. I found it quite challenging. The Revoltech series is not as clever at hiding bulky joints like figma. However I feel like I still got some great shots. She is not all that bad, and a welcome addition to the collection.
Tsundere Thursday!!!!!! I am very proud to show off this hard to find Figma Rin Tohsaka. I loved her character in Fate/Stay Night, and I am happy to see them expand upon her in UMB. This Figma was part of the first wave of Figma, and even if she has aged she still looks really great. I welcome addition to the figma collection. This will be the last Fate Stay post for a while. Some new Figures are waiting in the wings to be shown. next up some Evangelion love. As always thanks for checking out my post. Have a lovely day , everyone.
Another Fate related post... me ???? Never... Well there will be more in the future what with my fandom reaching a fevered pitch.
As much as I love saber in the original series the first time I saw her looking androgynous in her black suit riding a Yamaha V-Max I was in love. I love tough girls and motorcycles so it was a given I had to get this figma eventually. The Moto is actually a die cast one i picked up from a hobby shop for like 10 bucks. I still may pick up the licensed saber bike in the future. I have a soft spot for Japanese moto, so it worked out. She is so cool looking, and I tried to recapture the shows open sequence with one shot in particular. Hope you Fate/ Zero fans enjoy.
Who is the cutest little king of the jungle? Saber of course. It is hard work being the adorable King of Knights that she is. My goodness she is cute. She will eat you however. Because a kings apatite is mighty indeed. So watch out, and dont get too close. Unless you are filling her lion bowl.
