Audrey had finished up her shift and was getting ready to head home when she noticed the boy, it was becoming less and less of a shock to see him at the restaurant since they met. She kind of hoped he would’ve at the very least asked her out by now but seeing him frequently at work was cute in it’s own way. “Hey,” she greeted him. She sat down across from him and stole a fry off his plate. “Yeah I just finished up, wasn’t too bad thankfully. What about you? You get stood up again?”Â
.
He raised an eyebrow as Audrey stole a fry, but made no complaint. “Luckily enough for me, no. I did not get stood up again. At least not yet. This time I made the choice to show up here alone. No expected guests.” People often had weird opinions about going out for meals alone, but Maverick had never had any qualms about it. And knowing he was going to be alone felt much better than hoping for someone to show up that never would. “Glad to hear you had an alright shift though, I know sometimes customers can get a bit ridiculous.”
