a few weeks ago i drew baby counterparts of the sophonts, i personally found the spidarrot pups the cutest so i drew one playing with a plush doll, you could consider this little fella a toddler too, but nonetheless i will continue to see them as clumsy puffballs with movy tubes for the foreseeable future, its too cute
A piece of worldbuilding i ought to mention is that young spidarrots (usually infant but there are outliers), make a sort of "Awp!-Awp!-Awp!" sound when happy or excited, think of it like how humans make odd noises that come naturally, like laughing, or infant crying
I'm also rather proud of the background i made this time, I've been trying to experiment with their weirdness
The Rishin are perhaps the most enigmatic sophont race in the Orion Sector. Nearly all of them reside in a massive, mobile space station known simply as the Void Pilgrim, where they maintain what is perhaps the galaxy's largest library, and act as information brokers for those seeking to deal in secrets.
They are chimeric organisms, with a mollusc-like creature attached to and closely integrated with its ground sloth-like host body. The molluscoid, known as a "sapiosite" is the true sophont in this union, possessing the enlarged brain and complex thinking typical of sophonts in the Orion Sector. Soon after birth, a young sapiosite is introduced to its similarly-aged host, latching onto the infant host's head with its mouth and quickly growing new nerve tendrils to hijack the host's central nervous system. The host's own brain experiences significant changes after this point, where its cerebral cortex degenerates in favor of the mesencephalon and cerebellum.
As both organisms grow and develop, their flesh intermingles and merges in a manner similar to that of male anglerfish and their mates, an association presumbly brought about by centuries of symbiosis. Even just a few months after the union between sapiosite and host, any attempt at removal becomes incredibly traumatic, and potentially fatal.

I don't know why I have the sudden urge to make an ape-like species, but I decided to photobash and make these guys. Generally enough, this is just, you can say, a concept design, or something like that. It's not supposed to accurately portray what the actual design would look like, but I have the urge to draw something ape-like as an alien species.
And also, probably I want to make them a spacefaring species, but I don't know, I'm just thinking about it.

I am Kareman, a Palestinian mother from Gaza, and we are still alive after 475 days of war that began on October 7, 2023, and ended today. However, despite being alive, pain and sorrow have not left us. Everything around us has turned to rubble. I once said, "This pain will end one day, and I believe in that," but I never imagined that the pain would follow us in this way.
We returned to our home, only to find that the pain has deepened. Our home, which once embraced us, is now destroyed. The fishing boat, which was our only source of livelihood, was consumed by fire, taking away all hope. The fishing nets and equipment, which were our means of survival, have been burned. My husband, who supported us with his work, now has nothing but memories😭💔
