“Yes, I’m pretty sure. I made it myself. You did ask for tea, right, miss?” Max could have completely been mistaken. It wasn’t normal for her to go around making things for other people, but after spending a few days here, it seemed like she always saw the same faces despite the fact that this was a hotel. If she was going to live here too, then she had to get to know some people.
“No, no.. come in. Although I feel like I should clean this room, it is mine after all.” Lottie chuckled.
“Oh...right, I guess that’s true. But I am cleaning this floor, so maybe I can do a little something to lighten your load.” She looked at the girl for a moment longer than she probably should have, but she was trying to place her. Being new to the hotel as a worker and as a resident was completely overwhelming, and learning the names and faces of new people was never her strong suit. “I’m sorry, but you’re Charlotte, right?”
“ - Oh crap! You scared me… did you want something?”
Max stopped dead in her tracks. When no one had answered the door after she knocked a few times, she figured no one was inside. “I’m so sorry! I thought the room was empty.”
