James slid his arms through the holes of the shirt, adjusting it to his body as he put it on. His small fingers ran through the collar, trying his best to keep it up. ❝ I don’t understand why we have to do this.❞ he protested. ❝ There’s a uniform at Hogwarts— we’ll all dress the same. ❞ Let’s just say we was less than happy about it.
James laughed. ❝ I’m almost sure that’s not how Mom taught it, Max.❞

❝ Mom taught me once— ‘m not sure I remember it. ❞ He watched Max movements closely. He was the coolest person he knew. He was the coolest person he would ever meet— he was certain of it. So if he had any hopes of being half as cool as Max, he would have a lot to learn— and not much time to do it.
"Alright, then. I'll teach you now." he said, handing James a tie and taking a second tie for demonstration. He kneeled beside the boy, looking into the mirror as he placed the tie around the back of his neck. "First, you want to make sure it's even on both sides. Then you say, 'screw that', and pull the fatter side further down-- but not by too much or it'll look weird."

"That's exactly why we've got to do it! While everyone is looking boring in their uniforms, you'll look different, cooler. Now, button that up. D'you know how to tie a tie?" he asked. Turning away from James for a moment, he dug through the pile of clothes on his bed until he found a black Hogwarts tie.
fun fact: joe anderson had zero vocal training before across the universe and his voice is fuckin gorgeous do u have any idea how impressive that is
