Something about copycats

When I said that I’m ok with people imitating my artstyle I meant I’m ok with people imitating the way I draw things

Here are some of the drawings from the episode ‘Your Mother and Mine’ of Steven Universe. The challenge was to depict the highly stylized fairytale of Rose’s time on Earth. In keeping with ‘The Answer’, the Lotte Reiniger/Shoujo influences were integral, but this time I wanted to lean more into dramatic pans and layouts. Though I was initially worried about maintaining the audience’s interest for 5 minutes without any facial expressions, I think it ended up so beautiful thanks to the always incredible music and backgrounds by Elle Michalka.
