"Are you okay?”
Whoever she is, she looks lost. All alone in the desert, her fair skin turning red from the harsh sun, her clothes hardly suitable for traveling. She can’t be much younger than he is, maybe twelve --- thirteen, at the oldest. And with her golden hair, her pointed ears, he knows what she is and he knows that exposing himself like this to her is potentially dangerous. To him.
Hylians were not necessarily unwelcome in Gerudo territory, but there was tension between the two races and the Hylian royal family watched them like a hawk. You must not let them find you, his mother’s words echoed in his ears. He misses his mother, with her kind smile and honey-colored eyes, and he misses his sister. The new chieftain watches over him as if he were her own, but it isn’t the same. They hide his presence from outsiders, and they’ve told him why: because there are stories, stories about how the one male Gerudo born every hundred years will succumb to the darkness in his heart and must be struck down by the chosen hero. But he’s not like that, is he? They have assured him he is not.
“Are you hurt?” The girl looks shocked, her eyes wide, and Ganondorf reaches out to carefully touch her shoulder. Not too far away, his sand seal lets out a grunt. “Hello? Can you hear me?”

i was saying on discord that there’s a reason in my 4+ years writing gan only one ship has lasted... (technically it’d be two ships but one of them doesn’t rp her character anymore so F)... he absolutely does not fall in love easily. it’s like. so far down on his list of priorities. not only is he just closed off from everyone and nearly incapable of creating meaningful bonds with other people because he’s, uh, terrible, but romantic love is just never a thing that came to him easily lmao he’s just extremely selfish, cruel, and violent and too focused on the whole “obtaining the triforce killing goddesses ruling the world” thing to care much about even forming real friendships, much less romantic relationships
like you can fall in love with him but the probability of him returning those feelings is probably like. 1% and that’s being generous. he’s more likely to take advantage of those feelings if he found out about them. oof!
so i guess i’m saying that any ship will have to come naturally... and discussed and plotted like, extensively, and you’d have to realize he is not a gentle, kind man, and his priorities are... questionable. He Is Not Nice and is also (h.alsey voice) bad at loooove ooh ooh
happy father‘s day you got me

❛❛ perhaps we can come to some sort of agreement, your majesty. ❜❜ the princess sits across from the other, hands gently placed on the table, a gesture outstretched to power when wisdom speaks. ( still a child, newly crowned royal, she is unsure of her quiet discomfort. ) father raised her well enough to run a kingdom without advisors, though this was perhaps not the best time to practice independence. the gerudo people are a proud people, as are the people of hyrule. her fingers fiddle together, thinking for a moment before she dons her own innocent smile.
❛❛ as i understand, your people are in need of resources that we have. ❜❜
@mayghenan - bullied me.
The chair is a little too small, creaking under his heavy weight; the table a little too short, his knees hitting the bottom side; and it only adds to his already present discomfort when in the presence of Hylians. He does well not to show it, not to express it, for that was a show of weakness and he did not permit weakness -- especially not from himself. The guards standing vigilant within the room are prepared to pounce. In fact, he’s quite sure they’re looking for any reason to. Of course they would; he was Gerudo, and not just any Gerudo: he was their king, and the conflict between their people remains, even with their shaky attempts at peace.
Ganondorf’s gaze does not waver, burning holes into the little girl’s eyes that meet his unflinchingly, and he knows then that intimidation will not work. That’s fine, he’s quite capable of diplomacy. He can smile, he can say whatever he needs to to get what he wants, even if there is some deception involved.
( And what he wants is more than what she offers, but his plotting, planning, scheming is kept under tight wrap. )
“Yes. As you can imagine, living in a desert, we do not have as many resources as your people,” he keeps his tone light, yet firm. “The days are harsh and the nights are harsher. We make do with what we have, but oftentimes that isn’t enough.”

It was so uncommon, moments where it was only they two, whether it was completely by choice ( his choice ) or because duty kept him apart. And when they did sit alone, the tension was always palpable, and he forgot what it was like to talk to his own child--- his own flesh and blood. Images flash through his mind each time, of sun-bright smiles and big eyes shining with childish innocence, her hair as wild as his framing her face. Memories of a better time, where they still struggled but they were happier; where violence had not claimed his beloved and where darkness had not yet entirely consumed him. It makes part of his twisted heart ache. It makes it harder to talk to her.
“For your own good,” Ganondorf replies, sparing her a glance from where he sits cross-legged as he tunes the lute he rarely ever touches anymore, the instrument resting in his lap. What good would it do for her to know his thoughts, swarming about his brain like a camp of keese? Thoughts of violence, power, destiny, grief, longing. The stars and moon shine down on them, painting the sands white, and he thinks that they must be mocking him.
For your own good, his words echo back at him. If he remains distant, she remains safe. He had promised his beloved he would watch over their daughter with vigilance if she were to ever pass ( and she did, much to his despair ), and he did not lie. Gallilea just did not know nor does she understand. Would never understand. The farther she is from him, the less likely she will become a target. “What is it you want to know, then?”
Ever since seeing the new trailer with BOTW2, I got deep into the hydrated Ganondorf pool :3

An unspeakable exhaustion that sleeping could never quench overcomes him as the Ainu freely embraces Ganondorf from behind, burying his face into his fiery mane.
It’s late, far too late for him to be awake, but sleep was never something that ever came easily to the king. Often, he spent nights sitting hunched over a heavy book, or scratching down any and all thoughts that crossed his mind on a piece of parchment in candlelight. Maybe it was a way to avoid what he sees when he closes his eyes at night, blood-soaked sands and the flash of swords, spears, daggers. Too many times has he awoken in a cold sweat with sounds of screams ( the screams of his people ) ringing in his ears.
The bed creaks, sinks beneath his heavy weight as he settles back down on the edge. Ganondorf still isn’t sure if he could sleep now, despite having gone through nearly half of a thick novel in the span of a few hours, despite exhaustion tugging at his eyelids and making his eyes burn. He heaves a sigh, prepared to lie heavily on his side and hope that sleep comes to him, but a familiar presence makes itself known behind him.
Sauron has been there the whole time, of course, he was well aware of how he had been watching him from the shadows on the other side of the bed. Were it anyone else, Ganondorf would have nearly twisted their arm right from their socket for daring to lay a hand on him. With Sauron, he allows the Ainu to press close to his broad back, wind his arms around his waist and fold his hands in front of his abdomen. He’s warm, he’s always warm, as if a fire burns beneath his skin.
It reminds him of home.
The fingers of one large hand brush over one thin wrist, then practically envelope the two hands clasped in front of him. He allows Sauron to sink into his hair, nuzzle into it as if it were some sort of wild pillow. Then he brings a hand to his lips, presses a kiss to his knuckles almost reverently. Such tenderness only allowed for one being.
“We should rest,” he suggests in a voice so gentle it clashes with his usual rough tone, almost startlingly so. “But I’d need you to move.”
He shifts then, brings his legs up onto the bed and twists at the waist, an arm winding around Sauron’s smaller frame and managing to pull him into his lap and gather him close to his chest. Ganondorf holds him as if he were something delicate, even though he is anything but. Fingers card through inky hair, and he lies back, eyes focusing on the high ceiling.
“Sleep continues to evade me,” he states, voice quiet. “Perhaps your presence will make it come easier. Stay with me like this.”

The air crackles with the faint presence of powerful, very powerful magic. Taste electric on the tongue– and if one were to breathe it in they would detect the scent of ozone. Lesser men would heed this signal ( I mean business, do not test me ) and back off.
But Ganondorf is no lesser man.
–––– ❝ So. ❞
Lorin, deity he, stands before the other in a barren clearing. Despite being completely and utterly dwarfed by the demon king’s incredible height, his demeanor more than makes up for it. There is a distinct cold and emotionally detached quality to it, complete with a narrowed gaze up at the other as he attempts to scan for intent, any intent, of making a move.
Fear rushes through his veins like ice water, but he dares not let that show ( to show fear is to show weakness, to show weakness means you have already lost ). He will instead wring his hands behind his back, kneading his nails into the meat of his palms.
Not fear of you, but fear of what you may intend to do. To become.
Even within the constraints of this sordid tale, there is still a way find and grasp absolute power. Power that can, and will, shape the land as he knows it.
When a move isn’t made, he continues. Steady, steady, unlike his frantic heartbeat. It betrays him, it betrays his steely facade.
He has an inkling of just who, just what, you are.
–––– ❝ May I ask what has brought you to this accursed land? ❞
And he will not hesitate to act if you prove his assumptions true.
@mayghenan
The land is ruined, dark, dead. Signs of disorder that once reigned or perhaps continues to reign. It has an aching familiarity to it, even though he has never been here ( at least, maybe, not in this life ), but it tugs at something in his brutal heart. But he is not here to understand whatever it may be --- he is here on his journey for absolute power. Ganondorf can sense it, the scattered remains of the very thing that will practically put the world into the palm of his hand to do as he pleases with.
He knows how much he stands out, with his mane of fire, with his shining armor, with his jewels. He knows that he cannot pass as any normal traveler, and why would any normal traveler willingly cross these lands?
“Call it curiosity,” he responds with ease, keeping his tone light and casual, as if his intentions were not anything but devastating, terrifying, born entirely of greed and selfishness and the hunger for chaos that remains restless in his bones.
Ganondorf does move then, but he keeps those movements slow, calculated. The hand that brushes across the hilt of one of his swords is deliberate before he folds his arms behind his back and puffs his chest out. He stands proud, he always does, but there is still a tension in his body, he is still coiled tight to strike at any moment if he must.
Eyes burn into the stranger’s own gaze, pools of golden alight with something almost indiscernible. “If I may be so bold as to ask,” he continues, remaining rather amicable, “What is this place?”
god just a big shout out to @naragukil for being my longest lasting and most developed ship partner... been here for 4+ years babey... you've seen it all... and i love these disgustingly in love evil hubsbands
"I remember well your eyes, the touch of your hand and my delirium."
This was the shape of their madness, wasn’t it? Through the run of Ganondorf’s lives, one thing would be abundantly clear: he’d never understand the flesh and blood of a mortal love, of the way it had claws and fangs that sank into anything solid and hoarded itself zealously in the graveyards of the heart. Kept in a box until it rotted and decayed, and longer. That of a god’s was like air, without claustrophobia and the containment within the earth, within blood. What life this was, how long it’d been–neither could say. Even as he was buried in a monument of Ganondorf’s sturdy arms, the sight of his flaring inferno of a mane that grew like vines, this was his box. This was the grave of the Dark Lord in that of one of the few he saw keenly as equal. Madness, it was obvious. How Sauron inspired it, fueled it–created it. Through that gaze of gold he saw lust, want, contentment, and earth. A fire burning within its hearth–was that what he was?
“Am I your madness, then, Ethanu men?” he asks honestly, without reservation. Cold as steel but harboring an unfathomable passion of his own. One Ganondorf would never understand, but loved all the same. Just as he’d come to love this coffin, this hearth he was buried in. “Or is it something else?” Your fire?
eats his hair.
He doesn’t even try to stop her, even if she is messing up the hours of work he puts into taking care of his mane. “Careful, you might get a hairball.”

❝Why… Why is it that You have decided to side with ME, to help ME?❞ For while it has come like a BLESSING from the GODS and the greatest of them all HIMSELF, he still could not fathom it;; how HE could have been chosen. Were his thoughts and his theories correct? Had he been right about their PAST and had someone watched him for so long?
It is so easy, he thinks not for the first time, to warp another’s sense of self worth, to bring the impressionable beneath his wing and manipulate him into doing his bidding. All he had to do was find someone desperate, someone angry, and the Twili had practically fallen right into his lap after many a year of wandering that murky realm as nothing but a spirit.
“You have endless potential,” he replies, and it’s just a pretty little lie among so many others. “Far greater than you realize. I can recognize that when I see it. You can be so much more. More than that princess will ever be.”
One hand reaches out, his index finger tipping Zant’s chin up to meet his eyes ( after all, despite Zant’s height he still doesn’t quite match Ganondorf’s ), and his lips curl into a smile, sharp as a knife. “You would not question your god, would you?”
